  1. ...But not Poole ones?! (Thats a question not a statement.) PS Great to see the Just Giving page for Chris Harris' bike repairs is now over £600. I believe the plan is to let it continue for the coming week and then present the proceeds to him at the Meeting on Monday 13th August
  2. As long as there's some dirt on the outside like last time so Hans gets nowhere by sticking to the white line, should be another comfortable home win. Plus it'll be Leicester's 3rd away meeting in 4 days next week so they may well be even more demoralised than before - unless they get something from Wolves and Swindon?!
  3. Many of us contribute monthly to the REF in addition to their Winter events. All monies are donated between the riders over the course of a season - usually £500 at a time.
  4. The Just Giving page for Bomber's bike repairs (started by Sully) has already reached £280 from 20 contributors. Minimum donation is only £2.
  5. Not sure that would be possible after this week's SRBF collection and the current suggestions of doing a collection (as well as a Just Giving page) for Bomber?!
  6. It might be more credible if you got your averages right 'cos the current 1-7 certainly did not add up to 46.anything at the start of the season!!
  7. Poole can't fit Holder in on a like for like replacement unless its for Kurtz or Harris because his average (7.16) is higher than all the current 1-7 and the team total is 42.26. Can't see that happening. He could go to Somerset to replace his brother or Doyley!!?
  8. Ahh but was it by a Poole mechanic (who are there every week)or a Stars one?? Nobody seems to have ascertained that?!
  9. Just as a matter of interest, has anyone actually confirmed it was a Poole mechanic/official that spilled the oil on the track? Just asking................
  10. Not forgetting the chips on the shoulder and the mushrooms for fans to shelter under.
  11. Have you heard about VAT? Plus every club will have a different cost base which would make a 'standard' budgeting formula virtually impossible for every track.
  12. With many speedway tracks looking like a tip, its perfectly ok to mix oil in with shale as long as its not spilled in the pits or public areas where someone could slip over on it!
  13. Nothing wrong now with the Poole track - apart from some 'thin' shale, but as several riders including Kyle Newman commented it was in very good nick with fastest race times recorded. Even Robert chalked up the fastest away rider race time this season!! In any case the Stars will have their chance to get their own back at the end of the month.
  14. Against Swindon on 22nd, r/r for Klindt and Mark Riss for Jacobsen - unless anything happens in the meantime. Unfortunately Jacobsen will only complete his 4Home/4 Away meetings that week so his new average - around 6.50 - will not be effective til the week after, so we have to go with a 4.00 reserve guest.
  15. ....and Norfolk would undoubtedly be the place he would find them!!
  16. Matt Ford has no more got an endless pot of gold than he has an endless pot of oil!
  17. Don't worry Steve0, Poole are taking pity on the current Swindon malaise and will be missing 2 of their 1-7 on 22nd August in order to give you a better chance of getting your season back on track.
  18. So the usual several pages of bs following a Poole trouncing of the opposition. I really can't understand the issue about 'oilgate'. I would go as far as to say that every speedway track in the country has used oil to help bind 'iffy' shale. Even the renouned trackman Buster suggested using it during the infamous 'first bend hole' incident a few seasons ago which caused the KL call off!! With the oil being put on the track after the meeting I guess we'll have to wait to see if Leicester 'ride under protest' at next week's Wimborne Road home meeting?! I can't add anything else about the meeting other than to say that 3 Poole riders set their fastest race times of the season so far. (NB. For those arguing the environmental/H&S issues, last night's meeting was actually sponsored by a Health and Safety Compliance Specialist!!)
  19. What was wrong about my post? Lambert has asked to be excused from the test match because he needs a break (he's fatigued!!) - his words not mine! The fact that he'd booked a short break is largely irrelevant which is why i didn't mention it. I don't blame him for wanting to take a break. The point of my post on this particular meeting thread was whether his fatigue plus his Swedish commitment this evening plusgoing to number 1 would have any effect on his performance?! We shall soon see tomorrow.
  20. Robert Lambert has asked to be stood down from Team GB on Saturday due to suffering fatigue! After back and forth to Sweden today/tomorrow plus the added pressure of being the new Number 1 for August, it'll be interesting how he does at Wimborne Road on Wednesday. Poole won 58-32 back in June when they hadn't started reaching any form at that point.
