  1. Cut off for the Premiership is Monday 10th September. The last time in 2016 when the senior league fixtures werent all completed (Lions v Stars) I am told there were fines but no award of points, so presume the same applies this season.
  2. It might be in the Stars' best interest to not race the outstanding fixtures (particularly the away one at Somerset) - especially if their top 4 position is safe?!
  3. Poole weren't at full strength on Wednesday when Swindon fell by the wayside!!
  4. I think theres a fair chance that all of the Pirates will be well knackered by the time they get to Blunsdon after looking at their respective weekend schedules.
  5. I think my biggest wish/hope at the moment is that there are no transport issues or delays from Poland or wherever from the Sunday meetings which might affect riders from both teams! I gather some riders are due in to Luton at around 6 am.........!!
  6. Great meeting. Priveleged to watch the final 3 heats from the centre green; you really do get a better sense of what the riders can hear when a packed grandstand roars its approval - and I'm usually one of those in the main grandstand. Have to say its a long time since I remember jumping up and punching the air in excitement - great racing!! (ps. Its a long time since I managed to jump up for anything!!) I can't add anything to Steve Shovlar's report - spot on. Official Sponsors' Rider of the Night award went to Brady Kurtz but it could just as easily have gone to Bomber, Josh G or Kacper. PS. Well done to the Robins for keeping Poole honest in the first half of the meeting. I'd be realistically happy with an away point at Blunsdon on Monday.
  7. ..but we have a different track man today and are missing Monday's top scorer, Klindt and reserve Jacobsen. And we have a misfiring Number 1 and a number 5 who was beset with mechanicals on Monday and only managed 2 points. I remain open-minded and hope I have an out and out Poole 'Rider of the Night' to present a trophy to?!! COYP.
  8. Nope just stuck indoors this morning with the plumbers and the roofing contractors in attendance.. Looking forward to hosting some guests at the Poole v Swindon meeting this evening
  9. Well if the track is anything like Monday it'll suit Hans Andersen down to the ground - assuming he's riding and not required in Denmark?!
  10. First time I'd seen it. Couldn't see it mentioned on here. Not bothered one way or the other really.
  11. Not supporting the BSPA particularly, but is there any other sports organisation, association or even corporate that issues press releases after every board or Council meeting?! As many owners have found in the past, the more you seek views from fans the more and different views you will get in response. Fans views will be 'biased' depending on what club/riders they support; what league they see or have seen most of their speedway at; or what their TV Meeting experience has been; and even down to what facilities they are expected to endure when they do attend a meeting.
  12. They are calculated after Thursday 23rd August and are effective from the first of the next month I believe.
  13. Bomber asked to be taken out because he couldn't get either of his 2 bikes to work!!!
  14. I'm fairly sure that the Visa/work permit issue means that he can't reapply for one year so I guess the correct application will be submitted again 12 moths after the ban ended. Once things are settled again in the UK then (and depending what the league set-up is in 2019) he would be worth the risk imo.
  15. Wolves look as though they may also be missing Schlein and Greaves so unless they adopt a similar attitude to KL and don't use a BV guest
  16. Poole are using r/r for Klindt and have booked Mark Riss for Jacobsen
  17. Only scrapped if they are not paying anything for the 'privelege'!
  18. So presumably the Vice Chair will step up - thats Mr Godfrey isn't it - or is it not automatic and they have to have nominations and a vote. Godfrey seems to only want the lowest common denominator for the league structure which he can afford at Scunny.
  19. Sorry to mention Poole on this thread but they are missing their 2 Danes v Swindon on 22nd!!
  20. Such a shame that Cook's Glasgow meeting at Ipswich was rained off!! Still it gave Kurtz an extra Abbey run-out before the Bank Holiday Monday fixture
  21. Apart from the importance of the meeting itself for both sides, its also the cut-off for the September averages. Although Frederik will complete his 4 home/4 away meetings on Monday at Somerset and his new average will be effective for the Bank Holiday meetings v Somerset (H) and Swindon (A). It'll be interesting to see the reserve positions then.
  22. Philip, I am aware. My point was that BT are more than happy with the SGBP figures which points the way to the continuation of a 'top' league structure in 2019.
