With all these NSS-related posts do I assume that Poole 2019 will be based there? Its almost as if this forum should offer the opportunity for a new thread 'Who has the best track' in the Speedway Discussion section?! Oh hang on a minute......................................................................!!!

A Nations League for Speedway ?
SteveLyric2 replied to Bavarian's topic in International World of Speedway
Where it might fall down is when it comes to rider pay rates!? If the majority of riders expect to get paid as per Polish rates then unless the FIM or whoever coughs up the megabucks it'll never happen - a bit like the 'World Speedway League' a few years ago. -
Is Speedway still viable in the UK?
SteveLyric2 replied to JamesHarris's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I was interested to read about some attendances in this week's SS. Against all the doom and gloom merchants on the BSF, Leicester are reporting very good crowds - despite languishing at the bottom of the Premiership (and with claims of poor racing!!) Somerset have reported no drop in crowd numbers by switching to Mons/Weds plus increased numbers as the season has progressed and their success has been recognised.. Belle Vue fans reckon that numbers have increased progressively through the season. Poole's crowds whilst dwindling at the start of the season have now picked up considerably once their play-off place has been assured - and the club is financially stable.. Swindon and Wolves? - Both owners have intimated they wish to continue in the sport's top level and don't want to be dictated to by the Championship teams!!. That leaves Kings Lynn - top of the Premiership and presumably wanting to defend their 'title' next season?! What about their crowds in their best season for years? Not sure what any of that means in the overall scheme of things.......? -
To be honest I was quite impressed with him when he guested for Poole against the Robins in August. Did his job at reserve and looked very competitive.

Chris's situation is mentioned in a good article in the SS this week as well as on the Speedwaygp website. Still lacking some nitty gritty detail but thats fine.

Good to see 2 Somerset riders get the 'losing at home' vibe, with Bomber doing his thing away from home!!

What has Belle Vue got to do with 'Poole 2019'?
-
Any signs that the 'new' greyhound track is being marked out as well?
-
Large box of tissues for Gavan, anyone?! The article states that there is another commercial project that has seriously interested Matt Ford (Shame its not buying into Ipswich, just to picture Gavan's reaction!!) so now it will come down to whether another businessman (men) matches MF's valuation of the club - together with some security of tenure over the stadium development.
-
Whatever the shape/size, at least its something positive for Swindon fans for 2019 and beyond. Good to hear.

Good interview with Luke Becker by Speedway Portal on the Poole website during his visit to Wimborne Road last Wednesday with Gordon Pairman. As well as all the help and support from Greg Hancock along the way, he is also staying with Magic Janowski in Poland so is getting the benefit of good advice from great people with Poole connections. Hopefully his visa issues which stopped him from joining Edinburgh this season will be overcome for 2019

Hardly think Kurtz is 'crap' in Poland?! 5 points as a second string yesterday in a winning side when riding with the likes of Emil, Hampel, Piotr Pawlicki, Smektala and Kolodziej is not bad. He beat Woffinden and Emil in heat 1 and was up against the likes of Janowski, Milik, Fricke and Drabik in his other rides!!
-
None of the Poles were affordable despite positive discussions with Dudek, Pawlicki and at least one other. Thats why the plan B became Brady at 1 with the hope that Holder hit form straight away and takes over the Number 1 spot from the first or second set of averages. All water under the bridge now as we know what happened. Still Bomber at 1 for the second leg at home will make for an interesting scenario.

Belle Vue v Somerset PL 5th September, 2018

Crikey a Stoke fan trying to tell a Poole fan about track prep!!! Remind me, how many meetings did Stoke have to call off this season because their track was unraceable? -
Poole v Wolves. Prem B. 5/9/18
SteveLyric2 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
5 of the current Poole side are Poole assets plus the Holders, so Poole will have first choice on whether to use them. Harris and Worrall being the exceptions. Not sure why all this talk of 2019 already when nobody knows the rules and regs yet - plenty of time come Nivember. -

Herbie and Gordon are good mates so there may be some influence there? -

So the 'plan' finally reaches fruition (hopefully not too late) with Bomber taking over the number 1 spot from October 1st - the semifinal 2nd leg! and the opportunity to mix-up the riding order. Yes I know the argument that Bomber isn't a number 1 anymore, but thats not the point. He will do as good a job if not better than Brady whilst taking the pressure off Brady's shoulders. If we can just manage to keep it tight on 17th then who knows. As for having weaker reserves with Richie and Freddy - give me paid 19 every week and that'll do me. ps. Good to see some more dirt on the track last night. -

Its only Brady that needs to lower his. With Bomber scoring 12 or15 points will do nicely. -
