  1. No decision yet. We can have a guest from Wolves, Swindon or Leicester up to 7.087 (6.75 + 5%) for the home leg or r/r., but a guest like Musielak for the away leg is vital I believe. If it does turn out to be r/r at home, I would expect the riding order to change with r/r at either 2, 3 or 4! As for the argument about 'the real champions' whether top of the league or winner of the play-offs? All clubs - and their fans - know what the format is before the season starts! I actually think the team at the top of the league should get some sort of recognition( a trophy of sorts - maybe Craven Shield), but why not give the team thats spent the most number of weeks at the top similar recognition? (Yes I know its a silly suggestion just as there are silly suggestions all over this forum!!)
  2. Why only mention that Poole made changes? Somerset made changes too (as have most, some enforced due to injury teams - its speedway!!) and as you correctly say its good management and they and the performances since the changes should be applauded. Your earlier analogy/comparison to Manchester City is totally irrelevant as they were never at the bottom of their league.
  3. Just a lot more for people to get excited about at Wimborne Road!!
  4. Poole didn't finish 4th though they were 3rd having been bottom back in July - but of course its all down to luck.!!! Nothing to do with changing the line-up and hitting form at the right time?! Didn't Somerset also make mid-season changes to their 1-7? It just worked better for the Pirates. As many have said previously, you win nothing in May to August!!
  5. Whatever the truth behind Summers absence, the Rebels and their guest need to get their stories in sync. Team Manager in interview said he only found out on the morning of the meeting whereas Howarth when interviewed said he and his girlfriend had loaded up the van the previous day!!
  6. Well what a night. Talk about a range of emotions. Well done and commiserations to the Rebels. Brilliant mid-meeting bursts for Poole plus of course the amazing heat 15 and Bomber catching Doyle on the line. Haven't seen the TV version yet - that'll be for tomorrow. Sleep well Poole fans. Morris for Brady at home (6.75+ 5%); Musielak away I expect.
  7. Poole's race to the play-offs from being bottom of the Premiership!!
  8. Just to clarify as one or two have already pointed out Howarth guests for BWD and its r/r for Summers (can't be the other way around as the averages don't work!), meaning that Howarth, Allen and Covatti can take the rides. As for whether the season tickets are eligible for tonight - I doubt it as it clearly states that they are not valid for the play-offs. There was an extra anniversary meeting Pirates v Yarmouth back in April and MF says in the paper today that if we don't get into the final then he is considering an extra meeting in mid/late October. As for the Golden Heats rule - each team manager chooses 3 pairs of riders who race off in turn. If its still level after those 3 heats then its a 'sudden death' best pair v best pair until a clear result is reached.
  9. Is Matt Ford leaving then? wow!! No mention of it in his radio interview this morning!
  10. Well done to Jason. Lets hope he spends a lot more time and focus on keeping it shiny and polished!!
  11. I bet you're rubbing your hands in anticipation for Monday evening, getting all your comments lined up for all scenarios despite not having your own team involved! Ha ha. Tissue boxes at the ready. Try not to splash your screen.
  12. Well it was a 'season ending injury' as far as the League in which the injury was incurred was concerned and the league where the rule was in place. Not sure that a British rule for something in British sport is ever considered 'global'?!
  13. Since when do rules in British Speedway apply in Polish Speedway? Its only in British speedway that there is/was the 'season-ending' injury rule. Take the Dudek injury - in Sweden they bring in KK as a replacement (not the best decision I grant you but it is allowed even at this late stage of their season.)
  14. He does know his stuff and occasionally even recognises Hans Anderson !!!!!!!
  15. Easier to achieve without the 'Mitchell effect'!!
  16. Well the October 1st GSAs are now confirmed on www.speedwaygb.co Bomber is not the best gater at the start of the meeting so having Josh at 2 would make some sense. Personally on recent form I would still prefer Brady at 3, Kacper at 4 and Nicolai at 5 but whatever the order on Monday it will have been discussed with the riders.
  17. In the longer Terry Russell article in the Speedway Star he says that much of the new speedway track work should be done in October and November. The dog track will also be changed and Gaming International will be trying to do that work in between greyhound race days over the winter.
  18. The scores will ultimately confirm the final GSAs for next season - so hardly meaningless!!!!
  19. Maybe with Somerset and Leicester/Sheffield thats more to do with the fixed race night debate than anything else?!
  20. Virtually the same size as Poole (299.1m), Should be great.
  21. If the existing dog track is to stay the same, why alter the speedway track at all as part of the stadium redevelopment??
  22. Rosco is merely saying that if they 'drop another 10k' through lack of support at this final meeting then it could have a serious financial effect on the strength of the 2019 line-up.
