Well some plans for 2019 must already be in place as some riders are already being contacted!!!
-
Don't think he's available.
-
No secret that GM tried to sign Bomber before Poole - BUT his average didn't fit within the points limit by 0.01 or something similar!! The Rebels loss was Pirates gain - in so many ways.
-
I wonder if Woffy will still be available to make an appearance?!
-
What rules were ignored? As has been established elsewhere Morris average was lower than Kurtz so was eligible to guest at home and away.
-
Not sure which SGBP promoters are 'fighting each other'?? Most of the dire straights moaning seems to be at SGBC level!! Some complaining there aren't enough fixtures when they are struggling to fit everything in to finish the season!! For 2019 simply get one or two more teams into the SGBP and set a sensibly agreed points limit; sign riders they can afford and make sure they get priority over any SGBC teams when there are any clashes. Simples.

Finishing Averages Table 2018

Good to see that Morris was a 'legal' guest for Kurtz Home and Away after all then!!! Crikey, how many pages on the Stars ve Pirates thread would that have avoided??!!! -
Isn't that what most sport, including Speedway should be doing? Attracting big crowds who are often paying more than t he normal admission and making money for the clubs?! Thats exactly what the play-offs do and what all clubs sign up to at the start of each season. There has to be winners and losers - thats sport.
-
In any sport its the team that wins at the end of the season - whether they have been good, bad or indifferent throughout the season is largely irrelevant. Take the KO Cup - Kings Lynn have scored more points than Somerset in the early rounds (194-191) but may lose out in the final?!
-
Yes certain club sponsors structured their 'deal' so that maximum money only became available if the team won !!
-
Absolutely true but what about all the rider assets that do ride regularly in UK? They all have a perceived value as does anything else purchased in the club's name. However the value is what somebody is prepared to pay rather than what Matt wants to sell for! Even a list of commercial partners (Sponsors/Advertisers) will have some value to a potential buyer - especially if they get something contractual about continuing financial support. I mean why is Lee Kilby doing all his fine commercial work for Swindon (and others) if the clubs aren't going to continue?
-
I'm fairly sure that in the last accounts filed for 2017 Poole's assets were valued at around #130k
-
Agree with most of that Steve but it was Klindt off 15 metres not Morris and although I wasn't there I'm not sure how Middlo motivates his tea??! Well done to all the team. Commiserations to kings Lynn and well done to Dale Allitt for his magnanimous comments at the end. Also despite Matt Ford's announcement its also good news that he won't leave the club or the fans in the lurch and may even stay another year (but that may depend as much on AGM decisions as it will on what buyers show interest).

Whats a 'hair saloon'??
-
I guess he was laughing so much he put his hand straight into his bank account to give Horton some financial help by purchasing Woryna!!
