I thought GP practice - for those riders that do it - was being talked about for the morning of the Saturday rather than the day before?!
-
Not every track has the start line level with the ref's box, so no big deal.
-
Wolves the first SGBP club to announce 2019 season ticket prices - before even a single rider has been announced! Unless of course there is to be an announcement this evening at the talk-in?!

National Supporters Club Group

Am I correct in understanding that it is to be one nominated fan from each club's official fan/supporters club?! -
Blair Scott on Jeremy Kyle
SteveLyric2 replied to THE DEAN MACHINE's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Well done to Blair - the treatment seems to be working well! -
In the final instance it'll come down to a numbers game plus whoever MF believes will increase their averages. As for Shanesie, whilst disappointed to be dropped last season, he was expecting it and is still on very good terms with his local club, Poole.
-
Wow look at all the loan fees coming to Poole?!
-
Making a profit and publicly admitting to it are two very different things - unless you are trying to sell the club!
-
They've got a track/stadium!!
-
Buster just wants to ba a winner - no shame there!! He's now purchased reached a commercial agreement for 2 more chances in 2019. Will it be enough I wonder?!
-
Thought there had been a last minute turnaround and morris had signed at the eleventh hour!!!?
-
"We're all doomed Cap'n Mainwaring, we're all doomed'!! FFS people get a grip!!

There will not be any major changes to track prep anywhere unless there are major changes to riders' machinery.
-
None of which will attract new fans - unless clubs reduce prices and effectively promote their product to their required audiences within their respective catchment areas.

THJ has tweeted that he is looking for a 2019 British place as he hasn't got a ride in his native Sweden - in either of their leagues. He's only currently signed up for a Polish lower division place.

Shocking allegation!!
-
Not indoor but on fit for purpose tracks with excellent facilities. F1 is an individual sport for the majority of spectators with an ancillary team/sponsor ethic on the production side. Its the individual drivers that are promoted.
-
See the chairman's statement today on the BSPA website.

Well Buster will have to wait at least another year before he gets his hands on Poole! As for a Bernie Ecclestone/Barry Hearn character, can somebody tell me what team sports either of these or similar have taken on and made more successful? Its one thing to promote individuals in sports that are indoors and under cover in modern fit-for-purpose venues, giving the participants gladitorial personas and big fanfares!! What would be in it for such an entrepreneur to take on speedway?
-
Have Chris Louis and Ged Rathbone actually 'sold up or out' to Buster Chapman? The statements use the phrase 'reached a commercial agreement' or similar, which can mean all sorts of things. I wonder how long the 'ownership' will continue? Having got the League structure agreed, lots can change before the season actually starts, not least when BSPA Ltd becomes active.

Harris isn't a Poole asset so Poole will not necessarily have first choice!!! According to several at Somerset, Jack has 'matured' somewhat - certainly his racing has, so hopefully has his attitude.
-
Agree 100% (less 2.5% obviously!)

Why would Pawlicki be on 8.00? There is nothing announced so far that suggests that rule is still applicable for 2019. Also he acquired an average of I think 7.22 last time around. Whatever the situation I guess he won't make any decision on where he might ride until he's fully recovered from his operation.

Thursdays - Use them or lose them!
SteveLyric2 replied to Grachan's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Sweden are only looking to Thursdays for Elitserien fixtures (as well as Tuesday) to allow all 9 clubs in 2019 to have at least one fixture each week. It wasn't an issue with 8 teams because they could all race on Tuesdays, with their 2nd division on Thursdays. The term 'Fixed Race Nights' is incorrect really as has been said by others. It should be 'Priority Race Nights'. The British Premiership will have priority as agreed by FIM for Monday and Thursday racing. However there will doubtless be some Premiership fixtures on other days eg Good Friday and some Wednesdays when other countries will have priority if there are rider clashes. Mondays and Thursdays were designated priority in 2018 but Premiership clubs reluctantly agreed to go Mon/Weds under pressure from some Championship Thursday clubs who threatened not to run if they were shifted from their regular night. Its good to see that sense has finally prevailed. -
Chris Holder will surely wish to retain regular access to his son, now that has been sorted in the courts, so I can't imagine him being based abroad - it would rather defeat the object?!
