Redcar aren't for sale, they are just seeking a new promoter . All is in hand according to CVS in the Speedy Star. Swindon have got a track in 2019. Why haven't Worky got a track?
-
Agree Kurtz should be nailed on - as long as he's only 2nd or 3rd heat leader. MF said he would like to see Josh G back - but I guess it might depend on who is picking the team?
-
The Swedish Allskvenskan league have always used Thursdays but with only 6 teams in it (and 9 in the top Elitserien) so I gues it gives them another option to allow all 9 top teams to have a fixture every week.

Yes with some clubs affected much more than others. For example Somerset have been quoted as saying they were pleased with their good crowd attendances on their 'off night' as it was much easier on the M5 for fans to get there rather than on a Friday
-
The plan shows a 'compound barn' which would surely house equipment and hardware etc?
-
Nothing wrong with fixed race nights - if the Championship clubs had allowed the Prem clubs to stick to Mondays/Thursdays as agreed with FIM, and agreed that for any Thursday fixture clashes the Prem clubs should have priority!

Not at all. I was merely trying to illustrate that there are clubs - like Wolves and Poole and others - that clearly wish to operate at SGBP level. It seems to me that many so-called fans want to place the blame for all speedway's ills at the feet of the SGBP clubs, when its the SGBC clubs that appear to have just as many if not more problems themselves, yet by sheer numbers are allowed to outvote or overrule SGBP clubs on crucial issues for the way forward.

Move along folks - its all been said. This is the 2019 thread!!

Fixture shambles - An annual event
SteveLyric2 replied to Hawk127's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Yet again many of the so-called problems with the sport are aimed at the Premiership clubs, when its the Championship and NL that have all the fixture issues. A cannot seriously understand how 'fans' can suggest a 'one league structure with freedom to run on days of their choice but with further dumbing down to a level somewhere under the current SGBC standard. Clubs who find themselves at the bottom end of that league - due to not winning meetings - will lose even more fans and money than they are apparently losing now! -
...and which league format would you see this team competing in?
-
Thats a novel way of keeping the bike warmed up!!

I wonder if the new Co-Promoter announcement might give a bit of a clue as to who the team's new 2019 Main Sponsor might be?!
-
Nothing relevant for this Somerset thread!!
-
I thought Leicester are looking at introducing a National League level team as well as their 'senior' team.
-
Am I viewing the revised plan correctly? I'm not that familiar with the site lay-out other than from an occasional visiting fan perspective. So the new track will effectively be at right angle to the existing one, with the stands etc at the end where the pits currently are and a new acoustic noise barrier around the whole site?! Or am I looking at it all wrong.

Doyle wants Somerset return but......
SteveLyric2 replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Looks like the Swedes are going for Tuesdays and Thursdays for some Elitserien fixtures!!! -
.....and there are already some Championship clubs who are not in favour of one league as they believe (quite rightly imo) that some teams will be much less competitive than others, whatever team points limit is set.!!!!

Dale Allitt has stated publicly that it was KL's proposal to Poole which was then ratified by the SCB and BSPA MC to avoid the sport being further vilified by allowing Ellis to guest for both clubs in the final.

Is This The Worse Team Ever To Win The League?
SteveLyric2 replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Surely this thread should be re-named 'Is this the Worst dumb-downed top league for any club to win'? -
Depends who is making the decisions at Poole?!
-
As it appears some can still not let this go, lets not forget that it was Kings Lynn that proposed the line-ups for the final (as confirmed by Dale Allitt) and the BSPA Chairman would also have known that Morris' final season average was actually below that of Kurtz, even though it wasn't yet publicised on the SGB website.
