  1. Why would a promoter move to a stadium with restricted use that he has to rent as a replacement for a stadium that he owns?
  2. You seem to also be forgetting the mandatory practice days that any Polish-contracted riders have to attend! Lets not forget, riders will in the main give priority to where the money is.
  3. What about the clubs who CAN afford to operate at a 'top' level and their fans demand it?? They should be allowed and encouraged to do just that, whilst running a 'B' team in the weaker league. If its only 5, 6, 7 or 8 teams that fit that category then call it a Super League or an Elite League with a decent points limit and with a low maximum number of fixtures to attract some of the top riders and then a B team (without any top riders) to run with a lower points limit and with a reduced admission price. As long as the scenario is financially sound for those clubs - and more importantly its what the fans and sponsors of those clubs want to see - then why shouldn't there be a structure that allows them to do it?
  4. But they do guarantee your own grandstand seat; give 10%off club merchandise and priority invites to certain club activities eg P&P day. Not for everyone I agree but clearly liked by many as Poole season ticket sales were up in 2018.
  5. In this week's SS there seems to be a trend towards making the Premiership stronger - both in terms of number of teams and a bigger points limit - and the Championship 'weaker' to make more of a difference between SGBP and SGBC.
  6. Jon Cook's had a Promoters Licence for as long as I can remember. Apparantly the 'deal' is already in place with the RH owners to run in the Championship.
  7. Last week's SS has Jon Cook saying he wants to use Rye House!!!
  8. Probably because nothing has happened worth discussing!
  9. Any club at Championship level that runs at weekends would have to avoid signing any rider who competes in any of the Polish divisions. By definition any of the 'richer' clubs riding Mon/Weds can afford to sign stronger teams which will make the one league concept uncompetitive for some. Clubs that lose regularly also lose fans!
  10. A number of Championship clubs don't want one league with FRNS as they can only run on their designated day. Also if the 'top' riders are attracted to those clubs that can afford them what chance do the other clubs have in a one league scenario? They would not be competitive. (As already stated by the likes of Newcastle etc.)
  11. Not sure of the legalities but i would think CH's former partner would have some sort of claim on his possessions/property which could be why he's trying to liquidate them?
  12. The latest plan shows an acoustic wall around the whole site.
  13. AFC Bournemouth might well qualify for Europa League but not Bournemouth FC. Thursdays have always been Poole's official 'rainoff-night' - at least in recent memory....
  14. Well done to the title-winning riders who are all off to the Abu Dhabi F1 at the end of November - including guest Nick Morris. Brady is also able to join them. It was going to be Las Vegas but Freddie Jacobsen is 'too young' to be allowed to enjoy everything on offer so, Abu Dhabi it is with the management and a couple of the club sponsors. (see today's Bournemouth Echo for full story). www.bournemouthecho.co.uk There is the first of the Autumn/Winter supporters club (R.E.F.) gatherings in Champs Bar at the stadium on November 14th which will include showing the film/dvd of the 70th Anniversary Dinner featuring interviews with 20+ past and present riders, for those fans that were unable to attend back in March. Not sure if any of the riders or management will be in attendance?
  15. Rider of the Year was done on Facebook - Nicolai Klindt the clear winner! There hasn't been a D&D for several years as too many people complained about the cost and VFM of the last one!
  16. With the exception of injury-ridden Leicester, the 4 teams making the most changes were the eventual play-off semi-finalists.
  17. Why would anyone want a hotel in the middle of a field?!
  18. Surely as well as the points limit it all depends on who runs the club in 2019 and whether theres a main sponsor?! I would have thought any new promotion would want to use as many club assets as possible in the first year
  19. Which particular 'Gang of 2' are we talking about here? I'm hearing KC is stepping down?!
