Nicolai Klindt Final rider announcement at 3o'clock Monday afternoon!!
-
Eleven Sport are a spent force for the time being in the UK. Closed their uk operation by all accounts. Richie Worrall top scored in the final and picked up the Rider of the Night award several times. As the Echo article states now that he's got his business up and running successfully he can give 100% to his speedway. With the expected Klindt still to be announced I reckon there are at least 4 - possibly 5 - riders capable of increasing their averages. (and 4 of the 2018 trophy winners). A good solid strength in depth team imo.
-
6.81 left. Nicolai 6.61 job done!
-
Klindt I would think. That would still leave options in case they are still waiting for Richie to sober up after the AbuDhabi F1trip!!!!
-
Gomolski likes his social life too much. Even on a 5.51 average his costs would be extreme for any club.
-
Apologies. I must have misunderstood the Polish interview he gave recently.
-
Josh can't do Championship cos he's chosen to ride on a Polish licence.
-
Josh didn't do the 17/18 Aussie season which probably explains in part why it took him so long to start scoring well for Poole - as well as not doing the Championship because he chose to ride on a Polish licence. This winter he is contesting the Aussie Championships as well as some individual meetings so should at least start our season virtually race fit!!
-
So will Greg Hancock and others be looking further afield for a team place??
-
Greg Hancock anyone?!
-
Could be!!? one of those at Blunsdon with petals that droop and finally fall off around August/September.

A bit different if you don't have a stadium/track!! I wasn't suggesting they 'help' Poole , merely that the BSPA would want to retain Poole in the top level. If MF were to 'walk away' without a buyer, then I would assume all rider assets would become the BSPA's, who would then put in an active promoter to keep the club running.- lets just say Poole-based Garry May for example?! Do you really think thats not a possibility?
-
TV meetings in UK are usually run pretty slickly!
-
Why would the sport be stopped? Do you think the BSPA would stand by and let a club with Poole's reputation and fanbase disappear? Maybe only if the stadium suddenly became unavailable.
-
They will be co-promoters NOT owners and mainly responsible for the day to day arrangements with Matt flying in on match days - a bit like riders do. Matt has stated this himself. Anyway, 5th rider announcement timed for 10.30pm this evening!! I don't expect it to be a surprise as tomorrow's media coverage will have to vie with AFC Bournemouth's match at Chelsea tonight.

All the fans I know are being realistic. Whats wrong with a team that should have 4 from the title-winning team of 2018, plus 3 who are at least as good with potential to be consistently better than the 3 they are replacing? Many fans (of all clubs) complain about not retaining some continuity in team building, yet when clubs do thats apparently 'unrealistic'!? Clubs just can't seem to win with some fans who consistently talk the sport down!! A great shame really.
-
Well one of them at least + one from one of the sponsors - unless there's been a last minute change which might be the reason for the delay in the announcement?!
-
Matt hasn't got a 'total lack of finance at the moment'! There are many other sponsors still firmly on board, but As he says himself he needs to cut his cloth accordingly for the time being. He's already talked about Fredrik Jakobsen potentially being brought in mid-season if required! So presumably there would be funding for such an occurrance?!
-
His abicus!!
-
Is there a new club on the South Coast then, as Poole's 6&7 are sorted.
-
If Matt does manage to sell at some point before the end of the 2019 season, then the new owner(s) will need to have a recognised licenced Promoter on board. If Matt doesn't manage to find a buyer and considers simply 'walking away' - something he has said he wouldn't hope to do - then surely the BSPA would step in and appoint a Promoter to keep a major speedway name like Poole operating. This latter course of action would also probably depend on security of tenure of Poole Stadium. As for the Nicolaj Busk Jakobsen signing - a bit of a surprise but illustrates that a recommendation from Bjarne Pedersen carries rather more weight for MF than Nicolai Klindt's plea for Rasmus Jensen. Some good Premiership scores when guesting for Leicester's Josh Auty at reserve, so should be OK at reserve for Poole with Covatti. Clearly MF sees the reserves switching in and out of the 1-5 during the course of the season - a bit like the Trophy-winning 2018 side.
-
Lets not forget that these are just announcements at this stage. Nothing is certain until every team and its averages is ratified by the BSPA.

Brilliant post!
