Big decisions in November.
SteveLyric2 replied to Sidney the robin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No it wasn't! In the latest official GSA's (Issue 24 - 18/9/19)both BV and KL have more than one 8 point rider, as do Swindon. In fact in the last KL programme v Poole, both Lambert and Cook are listed as 8 pointers. -

So it seems as though there will be a 'top' league of x clubs next season. With the likes of Terry Russell wanting to keep Jason Doyle in an 8 team league it begs the question about how many 8+ point riders will be allowed in the team building and to what team points limit? Swindon, Belle Vue and Kings Lynn may well have some serious decisions to make with their Number 1s. -
No. Not sure.

Best wishes to Terry Russell for a successful and speedy recovery following his surgery. He wants to keep JD in the Robins team for next year as he is 'box-office' (quite right too!)and hopes the AGM doesn't diminish the standard yet again as its not necessary. He's also hopeful of an 8-team Premiership in 2020.

It sounds as thought the sale/purchase process has been somewhat drawn out. But wasn't it suggested before the season started that Louis had a 'buy back' clause after the first season in the proposed agreement?! I'm sure I read that somewhere.

Its only right that Lawson rides for Eastbourne as the rearranged meeting at Ipswich is on a SGBP 'off-night'! The rules are quite clear......!
-
Poole v Kings Lynn also to be arranged after the playoffs. Has to be run or the home club gets a big fine.

I keep checking the various weather forecasts as we get closer to Monday - and they're still all say we're gonna get a deluge Monday afternoon/evening!! - and thats even after heavy rain on Sunday too. I know everyone in authority is probably focussed on Cardiff today but an early decision and an announcement about a rearrangement date would go down well with fans.

It was in the context of guaranteeing 2 bumper crowds for the local rivals Swindon and Poole, rather than risking either or both going out in the semis. This added to comments by a number of senior sources at the other clubs.

Swindon v Belle Vue Premiership Cup Final 2nd. Leg

Well done to the Robins. Isn't it a great feeling winning on a track with one or two bumps on it?! -

Good luck to both teams and no injuries. Hope its a great attendance -
What is this fixation with a 12 team top league? None of the other main European leagues have as many as 12 teams. 8-10 would be good though, but then its all down to what level ie points limit, is set?! If the top league sticks with Monday/Thursday as priority nights then it indicates they still want to attract riders that also ride in Europe on the other nights and the bigger the league the more they will need those riders. I don't mean the really top guys - those days are gone until the Polish bubble bursts - but Polish 2nd strings/reserves,Swedish, Danish, Czechs etc and of course the Aussies will still be very much in demand

Johnson stated in the Speedway Star last week or the week before that they all wanted to 'stay in the Premiership'!!
