I think its his wife that does the sponsorship. He lists speedway as an 'interest' - but she probably has to drag him along to meetings??!!
-
Front page and page 3 of the New Year's Day local Echo, stressing its a personal view and nothing to do with his company?!. Towards the end of the 'story' (slow news day!!) its mentioned about his company being a Pirates' sponsor. Attempts made to contact MF for comment but unable to.!
-
I wonder what stance the likes of Hans Andersen and Kyle Newman will take - depending on their own point of view - about their main sponsor's comments??
-
Lets hope we don't get any injuries then!! You make it sound as though Poole only have one sponsor?! Nothing is further from the truth. As said before Matt is simply working to a revised budget at the moment.
-
Maybe its the new main sponsor?! I think I've been introduced to their new CEO - Daniel Druff?!
-
Yeah and Grandad is getting very pee'd off with it!!
-
For those that may still be waiting for this week's Speedway Star, theres a good 3 page interview with Chris Holder about some of the off'track stuff thata affected him over the past 2 years. It doesn't give the full detail on everything as some of it is still subject to legal but it does confirm that he is staying in Andorra at the moment as they have a more relaxed visa system, even though longer term he wants to return to live and race in UK. ps. He had a good maximum points win at Kurri Kurri yesterday winning the Jason Crump Invitational. His brother Jack winning the 'B' final and then 4th in the 'A' final.
-
As he has already explained he doesn't have to pay for flights, accommodation, mechanics etc for Josh or Richie whereas he would (and did) for Kasper and Freddie. In fact he won't have to do that for any of the 1-7 next season. Merely cutting the cloth accordingly for 2019. Losing some sponsorship probably only puts Poole on a similar level to the other 6 clubs!!
-
Get it right. My post on the Poole thread said he knew virtually all the teams line-ups. If you can't read it properly you are simply proving your first statement above to be correct. Still not long to wait til the New Year for the Witches announcements.......(according to twitter)
-
Its only a 'number 1' that Louis is having trouble with and finding a number one with a higher average than Tungate's 7.61 is going to be a challenge for any club.
-
Quite correct - but it didn't stop other clubs from making him an offer!! Its amazing all the different ways that people can communicate in this day and age?!
-
So Tungate on 7.61(higher than NKI or Holder) will likely be at number 1. The problem with signing any Polish rider (as Poole are already aware) when you have a limited budget is the financial penalty if they get injured over here. - aside from the deal itself!!
-
Anyway back to a rider that does ride for Poole! On a 2 year deal too! Seems as though Kings Lynn wanted Nicolai Klindt but Poole gave him a better deal plus better sponsors.
-
Why is Jake Allen being debated on this Poole thread, he's not a Poole rider!!? Ipswich aren't struggling to put a team together! They've simply chosen not to announce them all at once. Matt Ford stated at the recent fans quiz night that he knew virtually all of the seven teams line-ups already - and that was at the beginning of December!! MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL FORUMERS - INCLUDING THE ALIASES!!!
-
Covatti is British-based; or do you think he flies in from Argentina for every meeting?!
-
Any mid-season team changes will be fine if required as Matt will have a much stronger revenue flow from season ticket income and the crowds attending early season meetings. Aside from any financial issues lets not forget that the existing SGBP clubs also agreed to assist the newcomers - Ippo and Panthers - to build competitive teams by not snapping up all the best riders available!! Of course if we get a load of early season rain-offs as in 2018 then the club could well be up s#!t creek?
-
KK's always good for a few points!!
-
For someone that 'couldn't care less' you don't harf love repeating the same old stuff over and over..........and over and over!!
-
Nicolai Klindt Final rider announcement at 3o'clock Monday afternoon!!
-
Eleven Sport are a spent force for the time being in the UK. Closed their uk operation by all accounts. Richie Worrall top scored in the final and picked up the Rider of the Night award several times. As the Echo article states now that he's got his business up and running successfully he can give 100% to his speedway. With the expected Klindt still to be announced I reckon there are at least 4 - possibly 5 - riders capable of increasing their averages. (and 4 of the 2018 trophy winners). A good solid strength in depth team imo.
-
6.81 left. Nicolai 6.61 job done!
-
Klindt I would think. That would still leave options in case they are still waiting for Richie to sober up after the AbuDhabi F1trip!!!!
-
Gomolski likes his social life too much. Even on a 5.51 average his costs would be extreme for any club.
-
Apologies. I must have misunderstood the Polish interview he gave recently.
-
Josh can't do Championship cos he's chosen to ride on a Polish licence.
