Birmingham Brummies 2019
SteveLyric2 replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
So who is replacing Zack and James at Eastbourne on Good Friday? Both are due to ride for Swindon at Poole with an 11.30 start. Eastbourne is due to start racing at 3pm?! -

Friday night is Championship night (or one of the 4 choices the SGBC clubs have). -

It can be if the track prep is done properly. Several riders and officials commented that the track is very different to last year!! -

A potential banana skin for the Robins - and also for the Pirates I guess?! Could be a big home win or a very narrow away win depending on who adapts to the new track best. Hope the Pirates manage to keep it close for the Friday morning return at 'gate and go' Wimborne Road. Should be good crowds at both fixtures. -

Seems very similar to how Poole started last year and we all know how that finished. Good to see Jack back to some form and Brady taking the new track record. -
Yes, not in the original team but forced to ride as a number 8!!
-
Maybe the rumour about a guest for Jack has started because he's not riding for Torun today?!
-
Not this Monday he won't!!

Maybe something for the Wolves thread. Its simply down to the owner (CVS) as to whether they wish to give him a benefit - as it was down to Matt Ford to grant one for Middlo. -
something which probably applies to every Premiership club!!!
-
Rumours locally that there may be a guest for Jack if his foot is still giving grief?! Any news on a new Panthers signing?
-
3 of those 5 TV meetings are away, so BT clearly banking on getting an increased attendance at those meetings - as usually happens when Poole visit!!

When Middlo had his previous money nicked by the Reg Fearman promotion, he left speedway altogether and didn't even visit as a fan until the likes of Joe Screen and Steve Johnston were staying with him at Baillie House and enticed him back. Matt Ford took over later and asked Neil to become team manager and promised to hold a benefit meeting for him while he still owned the club. Its not a 'testimonial' as such, its a 'benefit' meeting proposed by Matt Ford (first mentioned at the recent fan forum to unanimous applause) which I'm sure will be well supported by riders, fans and sponsors - and rightly so. -
No doubt he'll find his form against Poole on Monday?!

2nd halves mean the bars will stay open later! -
Well he must be pleased with how his reign started at Poole last night!

At least the Easter Monday start time has been changed to avoid the footie clash!

The interval is a contracted agreement with the stadium owners who take all the bar/beverage/food revenue - although why they didn't call it when Kerr came down and was being attended to in heat 10 I don't know?! Other than that despite the delayed start the ref and the presentation ensured the meeting was completed well within 90 minutes which was just as well as I was in severe danger of freezing my proverbials off!! ......But I guess thats one of the risks for those that do actually attend meetings regularly. -

So not far from the truth - except for the lack of entertainment factor on a very chilly evening in front of an 'average sized' crowd! The track was smooth and slick and the racing processional. Well done to the Stars for getting their act together better than the Pirates in the latter part of the meeting. As others have said this sort of result happens when your number 1 doesn't score - as KL found on Monday. All the others rode to or exceeded their averages so early days yet. 2 away meetings next week before the Good Friday morning meeting will be interesting to judge further.
