  1. Some of the best years for me at Poole were the mid-late 80s when Poole were in the old National League. No big stars (although many became huge stars later on) just young riders wanting to race and entertain. Massive crowds not bothered about not seeing big stars too.
  2. Watching the TV it's good to see Tony Steele walking the track with the heavy roller!!
  3. The Sky money was used primarily to bring in the top riders from Europe because thats what Sky wanted - and Poole weren't the sole club to do that!! Bearing in mind Poole's only income is from sponsors, advertising/programmes and admissions and their costs are likely amongst the highest in the top league, then their business model has worked well for them in past years. As I've already explained, losing 3 hefty sponsors before 2019 would hit most clubs aside from this season's sponsorship debacle. Gavan, as a matter of interest what do Ipswich pay to rent their stadium for speedway? and what other income do they get from speedway? Food beverage etc? I'd be interested to know how much sponsorship plays a part in Ippo's balance sheet?
  4. Poole have been 'Premier League' ie the top league, for years. Since the early Nineties in fact.
  5. Spread the word At least with Bomber it should make it a decent meeting.
  6. I don't recall seeing or reading anything that suggests the club won't continue? Alternatively it may all just be a ploy to tempt Buster into buying?! lol
  7. Absolute B.S. except for the 'seeking success' comment. This year, in addition to the end of the previous main team sponsor's 2-year deal, the club also lost a further 2 of its long-standing 'senior' sponsors due to important changes to their own business development and priorities and nothing to do directly with speedway in general or Poole in particular - the club is hopeful that at some future point they may return. As today's article explains, this year's replacement Main Sponsor's business has gone bust - in simple terms - and has not 100% fullfilled its promised financial commitment to the club. I'm not sure any promoter least of all Matt Ford would not be financially affected in such circumstances. It'll be very interesting to see what options the club is asking for fan feedback on this evening as well as any further info from the press conference after the meeting featuring all seven Pirates and the Management!!??
  8. Niggling back injury taking longer to heal than a toe/knee injury!!
  9. KL have been using guests or r/r for Porsing MPT and TJ for the past month or so. Also doubts about Lambert?!
  10. Really? I thought only league meetings counted.
  11. So are we taking any bets on how many guests KL will be using on Wednesday? I'll go with 3 plus possible also r/r.
  12. With the Wolves v Swindon semi final now also rescheduled to Wednesday - even more excuse for people to stay at home!!!!?? Not me though
  13. As i posted on the SGP site, I wonder if Antonio Lindback's inclusion in the 2020 GP series will impact on his potential return to British speedway?!
  14. I wonder if Lindback's GP selection will impact on his previously stated wish to return to British speedway in 2020?
  15. Well at least Brady(9) Josh(7) and Nicolai(11+1) have all come through their Polish commitments unscathed.
  16. Why? When we don't know what the points limit is yet?! Add in Freddie Jakobsen (5.04)
  17. With the season he's had at Torun who are no longer in the Extraleague, I doubt anyone is that bothered!!
  18. Lets hope there are no Polish weather postponements on Sunday 6th as some play-off meetings are rearranged for Wednesday 9th, so Nic Klindt could be affected - and Supporters Cup meetings don't take precedence.!?
  19. 1. Not sure MF got all the money owed, so saw out the league season and that was it! 2. ...and one of the existing sponsors too!!
  20. If Chris Holder's average is based on his Torun 2019 season, then he should get a SGBP reduction to around 6.00 points!!!!
  21. Planning meeting on Tuesday with planning officer recommendation to go ahead with stadium plans. (Swindon Advertiser!)
  22. He won't be stopping them earning a living - they'll have jobs in Poland, Sweden etc. As far as CH is concerned it may well depend on which club supports/sponsors his visa/work permit application - and I know who has done the majority of the paperwork up to now!!!!
  23. Not comparing the two leagues. You were talking about getting the best out of Jack if Chris is in the same team! The only place there has been any experience of that is Torun. CH has been in the Poole pits on many occasions this season advising/assisting etc his brother.
