Ipswich v Poole Prem. 11/6/19
SteveLyric2 replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just watching the Freesports Elitseiren this evening. Apparently there are no Swedish meetings next thursday due to the SoN?! Does that mean Chris Harris might be missing from the Ippo team next week? -
Thats one thing about a BSPA 5-year plan - it will always change by the second year - based on whats happened and what they never considered in the first place!!
-
Yes a strange situation this one. I queried the date when it was first announced as the Pirates are away at Swindon that night. Its still on the Pirates website fixture list and being sponsored by one of the major sponsors of both Poole and the Youth series - Wessex Marine.

From the team managers' comments earlier Ipswich are looking to exploit every advantage over the patched up Pirates, rather than take a business decision based on a small crowd?! -

Poole cannot re-sign Jakobsen ( or Woryna for that matter even if they had enough points) from last season as there is a rule that forbids it unless they are in the 1-7 at the start of this season! - without special dispensation. In any case, Freddie has too much on his present 2019 racing calendar to consider UK - he has said so himself. -

Kings Lynn to lodge a protest about Vissing who's Premiership average of 5.81 is too high!!! -
How does Vissing's average fit? He should be on 5.81 from Somerset last season? Even with the low team average!!
-
I believe there will be a regional league/division structure before the sport goes to one league.

£3k is what some clubs have to pay to rent their stadium, aside from all the other costs!!

I looked at this thread last night when I got in from the meeting but I refrained from getting involved then. I've now had the time and opportunity of going through it all. Yes sad I know!! The meeting was a good close meeting with some terriffic racing and overtaking with not a single crash or fall until the Cook incident in heat 15. From my position in the main grandstand Cook's move looked deliberate and intentional but if he apologised to Josh then fair play. I would suggest that if that move had happened earlier in the meeting he could well have been thrown out of the meeting there and then - apology or no apology - just my opinion!! (The fact that Nicolai had to be held back by Middlo says it all imo). The 'hole' that Cook video'd on the track walk and which was made worse by riders scuffing it, (I watched them do it!) was also spotted by Middlo and was packed down by the track staff before the meeting began. It didn't cause any rider from either team any issue thereafter! The Stars were a 2-man team - something that Peter Shroeck has commented on - and particularly disappointing were Riss and MPT compared to previous visits - but I'm sire things will be entirely different on Monday despite the Pirates having won twice already at the AFA. Still, patched up or not the 3 Pirates plus guests will still give it a go. -
I know for a fact that BT are extremely pleased with all their speedway viewing figures. Hopefully they put some money where their mouth is as the contract negotiations for 2020 and beyond are supposed to be concluded by end August!!! In the meantime on Monday viewers will have to view r/r for Kurtz with Summers Wells and Newman filling the minor places.- or so it is rumoured?!

Nicol may have been announced as a new signing but he's not yet declared in the 1-7 due to his visa application changes. Lambert is still listed despite being told that he's out, so has either got injured (official version) or has told Buster to 'go away' (unofficial but more likely version)! -

Why are we getting replacements for NBJ? His 7-day medical note expires today and he's declared for Thursday. -

Sam was definitely in the team in 2012. I presented him with a cheque from the Riders Equipment Fund and have a photo to prove it. Hope its a decent crowd as I'm hearing there will be a collection for Richie. -

Every track has an element of danger. Poole's had a 'couple of holes and ruts which have apparently been there for years' without stopping many many riders from racking up good scores. The track has been well bladed and new shale put on as was evidenced in the curtailed meeting v BV last week.
