When the rumour of going SGBC first started amongst some of the sponsors during the season Nicolai Klindt asked if it was true as he was on a 2 year contract? AT THAT TIME the answer was no we're staying SGBP. MF made various enquiries of other promoters including Len Silver of the likely cost savings and then put it to the fans. Incidentally MF's chateau is due to be featured on Escape to the Chateau next year.
-
Nothing to correct. Just to clarify Matt tried to sell the club when the Sky deal stopped but no takers. As for the chateau it's not just him it's a partnership of a few investors. And you're right there has been some unexpected additional costs but thats the French for you. Still on track to take first paying guests at Christmas. He puts regular updates on Facebook.

Doyley carried his rotator cuff injury for far too long when he was at Poole as well as being in the shadow of a couple of other superb riders. His form and will to win really only started once he had the op. The other key thing was meeting Emily and settling down!!
-
Go on you know you want to!!
-
Fan responses, more meetings and all remaining sponsors and advertisers in favour of sticking with Poole in the Championship. That was enough to convince Matt to take the step. You seem quite anti in many of yourposts why are you not convinced?
-
Why are you so concerned about what Poole are doing in 2020? You just can't keep away can you?
-
Yeah but the Fans voted for Championship racing with more Southern derby meetings with Rebels and Eagles.
-
It's my own post. I couldn't get hold of Matt as he was taking yet another pleading phone call from Terry!
-
Oops think I touched a nerve there. Such language from Wiltshire! Tut tut
-
Yes but that was before I spoke with Matt and Danny

Shock horror Poole have gone bust because DC2 says so!! What an idiotic post. If you are so concerned with Poole's future you might try reading all the reasons Poole lost money last year. They are well documented even for those on some sort of twisted wind up. Terry Russell has already changed his 2020 budget several times to try to find ways of replacing the income from 2 lost Poole home meetings
-
Where has it been said there's only one place available? As for Kent and Plymouth running SGBC and NDL teams surely it's their choice not a condition! Or have I missed something?? As for the youth round i'm sure it would be well supported at Poole as long as the date doesn't subsequently clash with an away league fixture which would require the club's promotion and many track volunteers to be elsewhere.
-
Let's not forget the object of Poole going SGBC is to get back on a firm financial footing. Why would you look at starting something that although reasonably successful on track ( Buccaneers) last time was a financial disaster!! Poole Speedway don't own or lease Poole Stadium they merely rent it when required ( at a not inconsiderable rental either). Their only income is sponsorship advertising merchandise and admissions.

Ellis and Grajczonek also signed in Denmark.
-
As I edited above Poole host Weymouth's meetings.
-
Lack of Stadium availability I presume. Weymouth have their meetings at Poole too.
-
So when Poole come to Somerset or vice-versa will the racing, atmosphere, entertainment and attendance be worse because it's not Premiership?! Of course not!!
-
So professionally produced tv is really just about attracting and keeping sponsors?! Not sure what evidence is around for that in recent years? It's good for the Sgbp riders but it doesn't make their demands to clubs any less. It's likely that clubs still have to pay more to riders simply because the riders know there is more money around due to.having a tv deal. What does it do for fans or to improve continuous attendance? Even if the attendance increases for a tv meeting due to a special promotion or reduced price, fans rarely come back in similar numbers. Or have I missed something and crowds are really on the increase all round and the sport is in a healthy state with no worries?
-
The'higher quality coverage' hasn't exactly done much for the sport in all those years - assuming there were a set of objectives for the sport to improve?! Maybe 'budget basic coverage' may be enough to do no worse than before?
-
Polish clubs run whenever it suits them no.matter what may have been agreed previously!!
-
I'm sure Kent and Plymouth will also run a NDL team.
-
So it's £50k per club per season over each of 5 years then? I was only asking. Maybe it was the BT deal done on the cheap?!
-
Hancock?
