  1. According to yesterday's podcast Buster Chapman ISN'T the owner of Ipswich!!
  2. Best wishes to Terry Russell for a successful and speedy recovery following his surgery. He wants to keep JD in the Robins team for next year as he is 'box-office' (quite right too!)and hopes the AGM doesn't diminish the standard yet again as its not necessary. He's also hopeful of an 8-team Premiership in 2020.
  3. It sounds as thought the sale/purchase process has been somewhat drawn out. But wasn't it suggested before the season started that Louis had a 'buy back' clause after the first season in the proposed agreement?! I'm sure I read that somewhere.
  4. Not again Gavan?! Yeah we get it. 'If Poole lose they will have choked'! How many times have you repeated this. Please give it a rest and come up with something new.
  5. Its only right that Lawson rides for Eastbourne as the rearranged meeting at Ipswich is on a SGBP 'off-night'! The rules are quite clear......!
  6. I know Ipswich have problems with stadium availability on Mondays so How about Thurs (Poole) and Saturday (Ipswich) which still gives the Witches the second leg? Lawson might be missing for Ippo? Not sure what European commitments there might be?
  7. Poole v Kings Lynn also to be arranged after the playoffs. Has to be run or the home club gets a big fine.
  8. I keep checking the various weather forecasts as we get closer to Monday - and they're still all say we're gonna get a deluge Monday afternoon/evening!! - and thats even after heavy rain on Sunday too. I know everyone in authority is probably focussed on Cardiff today but an early decision and an announcement about a rearrangement date would go down well with fans.
  9. It was in the context of guaranteeing 2 bumper crowds for the local rivals Swindon and Poole, rather than risking either or both going out in the semis. This added to comments by a number of senior sources at the other clubs.
  10. Looking at several of the various weather forecasts for Monday, I think we'll be very lucky to get this on. Forecasts vary from light rain to heavy rain and thunderstorm conditions from mid afternoon through the evening!!! Not sure what plan B might be?
  11. Nobody said Poole would pick Swindon. What was said was if Swindon finished top then they would pick Poole!!
  12. Well done to the Robins. Isn't it a great feeling winning on a track with one or two bumps on it?!
  13. Good luck to both teams and no injuries. Hope its a great attendance
  14. What is this fixation with a 12 team top league? None of the other main European leagues have as many as 12 teams. 8-10 would be good though, but then its all down to what level ie points limit, is set?! If the top league sticks with Monday/Thursday as priority nights then it indicates they still want to attract riders that also ride in Europe on the other nights and the bigger the league the more they will need those riders. I don't mean the really top guys - those days are gone until the Polish bubble bursts - but Polish 2nd strings/reserves,Swedish, Danish, Czechs etc and of course the Aussies will still be very much in demand
  15. Lots of people saying that everything needs to be smooth at Speedway tracks?!!!
  16. Johnson stated in the Speedway Star last week or the week before that they all wanted to 'stay in the Premiership'!!
  17. I've said before - my main issue with your many many posts usually on Poole threads is that they are simply repetitive - over and over and over again saying the same old stuff. Sometimes you have something valuable to say which is why you are not on ignore - but you don't need to keep on saying it. Once is often enough - for everyone.
  18. BT Sports football - indeed all their sport - is in HD and some in HD Ultra via the Virgin platform. I find it much better than Sky's standard package SD sports channels.
  19. I have Quest and Quest Red on Freeview (which is built into my TV). Both are also on Virgin (215 and 217) which I also have. My point was and is that whether they have shown sport in the past - and I agree Quest certainly has, including speedway (possibly one of the Euro rounds?) then it provides a further option for Eurosport if and when there are clashes of sports that they also pay for.
