  1. I believe that is one of the biggest marketing mistakes the sport has made!! Nowadays how many leisure/entertainment/sporting activities do whole families do together - especially families with teenagers - where often the venue facilities don't support anything of the kind?!
  2. Its 'Arnie' Middlo that is quoted in the local Echo today, He does say WE are already putting the 2020 team together , so 'We'll be back'!!.
  3. I'm with Virgin Media and get all the Eurosport and BT channels in HD unlike several of the SKY Sports channels.
  4. which is why I said 'if its worth anything these days'!! However as long as Nic's financial demands for 2020 aren't too much then he will be at Poole again. (ps. His was the last deal to be agreed for 2019 - probably because there were no Prem places left up for grabs!!)
  5. But I thought the Polish League hierarchy were beginning to realise that their ultra dominance of European (World?) speedway is doing nothing to assist the sport in those other countries, so they are looking to further develop relationships with the British leagues eg Buster Chapman and the IOW?! - through potential sponsorship on the back of the Eurosport deal. Its no good being the ultra-best if riders aren't coming through from other countries to supplement their team line-ups.
  6. Bjerre will possibly be a swap with Kurtz? Both Poole assets so who knows?
  7. If its worth anything these days - Klindt is on a 2-year contract anyway!! As for the meeting on 9th, KL have already confirmed that MPT and TJ will be missing due to their injuries. and as its a Wednesday if Somerset have a meeting that would mean 2 things - 1. Bomber can't guest. 2. Poole will be without Covatti.
  8. Poole will definitely run next year. With the anticipated extra monies available if the Eurosport deal is confirmed at the AGM. I understand the club is no longer proactively up for sale - although if a buyer with a good offer comes along - like with any other club - then anything is possible. Carpet Cleaning had a business blip mid-season but things have improved since, hence their logo reappearing on the website and matchday programmes. I understand that discussions for main team sponsor are already underway - maybe not with Carpet Cleaning - so Matt will probably take more of a 'hands-off' approach from France whilst son Danny and fellow co-promoter Tilley(with a year's experience under their belts) will continue to take the lead. Middlo has been promised his testimonial by Matt at the start of next season so............!! I am already looking forward to the 2020 Premiership Shield meetings between Poole and whoever!!
  9. Careful what you say about Hans, Steve or you'll be accused of not liking him or having something against him!!! However I do agree that neither Hans or Scott are the way forward.
  10. But do you really find it interesting when its repeated over and over? Very strange.
  11. As I said, I will be there as I am every home meeting, having fun with fellow sponsors and fans. I thought you stuck only to the International section these days?! Shame you didn't keep it up.
  12. All unconfirmed speculation but from several credible sources. No announcement until AGM and the BT Sport contract is finished I imagine.
  13. Reduced admission (attendance and financially I reckon) for this outstanding and meaningless fixture. It'll be interesting to see who's in the respective line-ups, who's injured, who's gone on holiday and who the guests are, who complains about the track etc etc.. I shall be there as usual but won't get there too early just in case.......
  14. Yet finished lower - so not all about match points clearly. But I hope Swindon win the final.
  15. Depends who the teams are as there may be stadium availability restrictions
  16. I think another key issue for the AGM is Fixture Planning - in light of 2020 being the Olympics and Euro footie tournaments (and there are bound to be others too.) With attendances apparently precarious everywhere (?) Promoters will think twice before going up against any major TV Sport - assuming they realise of course?!
  17. Good. Ideal for a second string. That'll mean he'll probably be good for 2021 too!! But he has got to get his visa first. Also why wouldn't Somerset want to keep Bomber if they are stepping up again? Poole will only have first choice of their assets.
  18. Only at weekends when they have loads of other live sports that are considered more popular. They must see something in midweek British Premiership speedway to outbid BT for the contract!!
  19. Yes mate, They had a mid-season business blip and got behind with their sponsorship payments. It was a bit touch and go for a bit hence their logos disappearing from websites and advertising, but back now until the end of the season atleast - Oh that'll be until now then!!
  20. Unless of course the respective stadia are used for something else on Saturdays?! (and Sundays for that matter.)
  21. More than BT but less than Sky. I'm told a 5 year deal is on the table plus the possibility of some Polish sponsorship because of the Eurosport audience reach?! Please don't shoot the messenger as we're not at AGM time yet!!
