  1. Any club in any league wants a strong home team with strong home performances and anyone that says not is in cloud cuckoo land! Its what pays the bills, attracts sponsors and fans - given the right local media support - and helps make the club successful. Notice I say 'club' rather than 'team'. Ideally the home meetings will be close as far as the final score is concerned but as we all know there can be successive 5-1s or 4-2s by either side which doesnt guarantee good entertaining racing any more than a succession of 3-3s. A home win and a consistent 1-7 will at least ensure that the majority of regular fans will keep returning - even some of the lapsed ones.
  2. The SGB/Eurosport statement mentioned a number of TV meetings. Even if they do decide to cover some Championship meetings, MF will not be at the front of the queue to play host to a home live meeting!!
  3. Not if MF has anything to do with it you won't.
  4. They didn't know for definite then - and still don't. Maybe as the whole move forward is due to finance, Bomber was simply too expensive for the budget being worked to. Incidentally if it does prove to be King then his top scoring 13 points at Poole back in July plus his 5+1 and 7+1 in more recent meetings was more than acceptable for a Premiership regular - whether he likes the track or not!!.
  5. Hahaha No not Charles Wright. I didn't say he was a number 1 from the Premiership. I said he rode Premiership in 2019 and would almost certainly be number 1 in the Championship line-up. Wright is not the only Brit!!
  6. Nothing to do with whats been said so far but I just wanna see how he reacts when its announced!! Hee hee
  7. Also some Sheffield riders looking for a Championship place!!!!
  8. Oh Gavan, Have I Got News For You? Can't wait til I can reveal it.....
  9. Theres a couple of 2019 Premiership riders that have been offered contracts at Poole for 2020.
  10. Thought Musielak was missing out uk racing next year?
  11. Hope they choose their riders carefully to avoid the Thursday Swedish fixture clashes.
  12. But yet again you are being very selective with your opinions. Matt has not 'walked away' as you put it. He still owns the club and is merely attempting to ensure that the club has a sustainable financial base for his son to run day-to-day whilst he is almost permanently out of the country. His personal approach to existing and potential sponsors will be on a much more remote basis, but he has another co-promoter to look after that side of things alongside son, Danny!! The big fall-off in attendances were on the TV league meetings, of which Poole had more than any other club. The season-ticket area of the main grandstand always looked reasonably busy - and I didn't miss a single home meeting.
  13. Wasn't it BV's Adrian Smith that introduced the media agency to negotiate the new TV deal?!"
  14. Wasn't there also talk of a League Sponsorship linked to the new TV deal - or will it be 'The Eurosport British Speedway league(s)?
  15. Doesn't the TV deal statement also include Championship meetings in their coverage?
  16. Why do you assume that you're the only one with experience in the industry and that anyone else with an opinion is a 'loudmouth speedway fan making cheap shots'? It reflects far more on you than anyone else!!
  17. So why is Matt Ford suggesting costs in CL are approx 25% less than PL? I know he's had loads of chats with Len in recent months, so who knows?
  18. Why would a wily old campaigner like Len Silver who has had considerable experience in recent years at CL/NL level suddenly decide to go Premiership, with the various restrictions he has with the stadium usage?
  19. Get it right if you are gonna continue having a go. Poole lost 2 big long term sponsors in the lead up to 2019 as well as the end of the 2-year 2017/18 main sponsorship and then was seriously let down by the new main team sponsor mid-season. No club could easily withstand those losses to their budget of many many thousands of £££s!! Along with a reduction in attendances due in part to the change in race night as well as the increased number of TV meetings - and also at a time when MF is in the process of uprooting to a new business in France - why wouldn't he do the best for the club to continue racing under the stewardship (co-promotion) of his son and another - hardly wanting to get shot of it is he - unless a decent offer comes along which is the same for most clubs at any time? (If Ipswich were so secure with a great main sponsor then why did Louis need and accept financial help from Buster before the 2019 season? - Yes I know the 'full takeover contract' was never signed apparently!!) Poole have never paid over-the-top money but what they have done is always guarantee that riders get paid correctly and on time - something which attracts many riders who have been let down by other clubs both here and abroad!! By all means carry on having a go at Poole - we all get it - just get your facts right before repeating the same old same old!
