  1. Doubt it'll be Poole cos MF just wants the loan fees!!
  2. ...and assuming Nico rides in Britain at all next year?
  3. Who will the Witches drop to get Nicolai in on 7.43? Or will it be a straight replacement for NKI?
  4. I wonder if Max's decision has the full backing of the Australian Team Manager?
  5. Nick Budimir is/was quite well known in the Bournemouth/Poole and East London areas for his involvement in a number of businesses both retail and corporate. He was one of a group of sponsors of Antonio Lindback back in the day. Maybe his plans for a 24/7 stadium facility might also include a nightclub-type of venue??!! If you search his name on Yahoo theres a video of him from 9 years ago talking about very similar plans and ideas for another greyhound track proposal which sounds very similar. There is also reference to his former employer - a certain Mr David Sullivan - which may ring a few bells for some?!
  6. That applies to virtually half of the clubs in British speedway!!
  7. I'm sure there will be an element of 'quid-pro-quo' with certain other teams who want to use some Poole assets. Ellis who isn't a Poole asset but still has Poole-based sponsors, can stay with Robins as they are Premiership. Doubt he will line up again at Brum with them having signed Bomber plus he has signed a Danish league contract - which is not impossible to work around fixture-wise as Poole did with Klindt and Hans in previous seasons before FRN were introduced.. There are very strong whispers from the various Poole sponsors and others that at least 4 rider contracts have already been offered - 3 of whom were Championship heat leaders this season plus one reserve.
  8. Quite a few loan fees heading Poole's way with that 1-7.
  9. Yes but NBJ collapsed in the pits and was expected to be out for quite a while after a stomach op!! As it turned out, the specialists back in Denmark decided an op was not necessary and he was declared fit enough to ride again, by which time Poole had made the switch. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
  10. Wow not seen that said before. What a surprise - and on a Poole 2020 thread too!
  11. Don't get me wrong, Matt certainly took his eye off the ball for a time but the decision not to replace Richie sooner was purely down to averages, availability and finance!!
  12. I agree. 'Decent music' is such a subjective thing especially when your audience is of an older demographic. At Poole this year a new music set was introduced and lasted only a few weeks before reverting to the old one. Riders have their individual music tracks for when they win a race. Similarly the tannoy - some say its too loud - others can't hear it clearly.
  13. I thought Ricky had already announced he would be leaving the Monarchs - sure I read it in Speedway Star a couple of weeks ago.
  14. Music from the 70's 80's 90's doesnt seem to upset the fans at Polish or Swedish tracks, the latter even having to put up with grass banks to sit/stand on.
  15. Thursdays, Mondays, BSPA meetings. He only moved to France mid-season. They do have phones, the internet and social media in France as well!!! 2019 was a transition period for Danny to start to become the media face for Poole Speedway especially on meeting days even though MF was always there - bar one meeting. Matt was very much making the decisions, paying the bills and clearly having to deal with the fallout from the main sponsor situation.
  16. The only year they made a loss was this year! Every one of the other 20 years the club has at the very least broken even.
  17. Depends whether you would want to run Premiership or Championship?
  18. Hasn't worked??? It hasn't happened yet. That's the plan for 2020!!
  19. Most of the clubs don't want one big league!!
  20. Somerset have done it having almost bankrupted their club after one season in Premiership. MF hasn't got a bottomless pit of money. Much of Poole's top level success has come on the back of much hard work in and around the local area in getting big sponsorship deals. The season just gone has seen not only the new, last minute main sponsor going into liquidation and costing the club around £35k but also saw the departure of 3 'major' club sponsors before the season started - one expected because they were at the end of their 2-year deal and 2 others due to a shift in their own respective business development plans. No club can afford to lose a six figure income from their bottom line without it having a major effect. To operate at a level which has - according to MF - a 25% lower cost base at a time when he is also less 'hands-on' due to his developing new business interest abroad, is a very sensible approach when leaving the day-to-day running of the club to his son Danny! Resuming 'local' derbies with the likes of Somerset and Eastbourne (and maybe Plymouth and Kent too) and seeing some other different opposition is all good as its all about the racing and the atmosphere for me - and many others it would seem.
