  1. No surprise if true. His main sponsor - Meridian Lifts - is also sponsoring the meeting!!! Personally I would have Nick Morris at the moment. He's flying at number 1 for Leicester and he knows the Poole track.
  2. 'East' (Main) Grandstand now sold out!! Last few tickets available for Bends 1/2.
  3. Surgery at the end of the week apparently so who knows? Buster must have run over several black cats with his tractor for all the luck the Stars are having at the moment!!
  4. To be fair I think the fact that all visitors to Poole Speedway/Stadium must wear a face mask inside the stadium is a distinct advantage for many!! With no bars or catering available for this first home meeting, for people of a certain age I would be more concerned as to which loos and how many are open!!!??
  5. His average just about fits but he will have Danish fixtures on Wednesdays I imagine.
  6. Morris or Kennett to guest I reckon! As for our track, bearing in mind nobody has been allowed near it for months until last week - and taking into account the weather forecast for Wednesday is hot and sunny - I imagine it'll be slick, smooth and dusty?!
  7. Sounds like a torn thigh which was bleeding and which the paramedics were having difficulty staunching!!!
  8. If any Poole or Berwick fans are intending to come but haven't yet booked their tickets online, the latest update says that single tickets will be on sale from 12noon on Monday 7th. NB. There will be NO bars or Catering outlets open for this meeting!! www.poole-speedway.com
  9. Surely it may depend on how good the Wi-Fi/broadband system is at each stadium - bearing in mind the ownership of most stadiums it might not be the Speedway Club's fsult.
  10. It starts with blocks of 6 until 4th June when its blocks of 4+. Then drops to 2+ from 6th June. Great to see Poole sticking to their 2020 proposed pricing of £17 Adults/£14 Concessions. Cheaper than many other Championship clubs. Note: NO catering nor bars available for this first home meeting!!
  11. Lets hope Cook (Ben not Craig) can get a bike together in time after 'totalling' his at Arlington. I'm sure the financial help from the Poole R.E.F. (Riders Equipment Fund) will assist him enormously.
  12. It amazes me to think that any promoter of a 'once-a-week' (at best) sport like speedway would take a big risk on building/owning a stadium without a variety of other revenue-earning activities to keep it sustainable!!
  13. They have to wait to see if the grandstand roof works are completed in time by Stadia uk as that could well affect the numbers allowed and social distancing.
  14. Richard Lawson?! Does his Prem average keep him at 1?
  15. All of which are down to the stadium owners rather than the speedway promoters!!
  16. Well they can't go the SAME way cos Poole don't own their stadium like Somerset!!
  17. He's been at Poole most weeks anyway!!
  18. Sad times. Lets hope that everyone reads the whole statement which gives all the reasoning rather than reacting to just the headline and trying to 'point a finger'!!
  19. Everyone is going to try to get the KO Cup meetings on as early as possible so there are bound to be some fixture switches.
  20. Matt Ford did say that he could get a consortium of local businesses together if the lease became available!! Not sure if that was realistic or just a 'media sound-byte' when Stadia UK stopped the greyhounds?! But he does still have local contacts and is still reasonably well in with the Council. As far as housing development is concerned there was (under the old Poole Council) a plan to develop part of the stadium site which would include the lorry park through to the empty office blocks on Wimborne Road, providing I think approx 500 dwellings. However I'm not sure if this is still a plan under the new BCP Council, who have this week announced that their housing targets do fall short of what the Govt requires!!
