So as Poole Promoter Danny Ford has now publicly explained, Poole were granted a 7-day facility for Smetana following the Czech Govt changing their Covid quarantine regulations the day after Smetana's signing was ratified by the BSPl. This covered the rider's absence at Plymouth but has left Poole with a problem for their next meeting also v Plymouth on 21st July if nothing can be sorted out. Poole will have 2 choices - either use a nominated NL rider or sign a new rider instead, but as Danny says there just aren't the riders around without any foreign fixture clashes!!

no. Zaine kennedy is awaiting 'elite sportsman' status from the Aussie authorities before being allowed to get a visa and exit Australia. Smetana is simply a Brexit/Covid paperwork issue around travelling with the necessary vaccination/testing paperwork required by different European countries.

Taken wide and off by Wright in his 4th ride and unable to take his place in the re-run. He's due to ride for Wolves on Monday so we'll see how fit he is for Tuesday.

Keeping Stefan at 4 would be my preference as it gives us a bit of strength in heat 14 when a meeting is close - not that that has been the case too often with the exception of Eastie away.

Its the advantage of Garry May being in the Poole pits most weeks.

Don't clubs have to demonstrate a certain level of financial assets (including a bond and rider assets) before being accepted into the BSPL. I recall several years ago that Poole 'loaned' an asset to Somerset so that the Rebels met the BSPA criteria!

Well if it is to be Zaine Kennedy, unless he's already in the UK he'll miss the Plymouth meeting on 13th due to having to hole up in a hotel for 14 days in quarantine!? As for Ben Cook - yes he has the benefit not only being with his brother Zach at Middlo's but also the added experience of Brady Kurtz and occasionally one or both of the Holders - including helping in the pits.

A bit of dissent bubbling in the pits apparently - MF didn't want it to become a big issue for other riders/mechanics!!

So although the rumours were flying last evening about a 'Czech', there is also another Aussie with an average that fits from 2019 - not sure if he's come over on the off-chance or he's waiting for a call? Before the season started there were several that said Poole had gone for the wrong ZK!!!!!! However with the finances as they are I'm sure Matt won't pay out what he doesn't have coming in?

Maybe Poole released him for other reasons than just his track performance? Matt Ford's statement about not wanting him as a club asset speaks volumes imo!! And theres me thinking Robert Lambert was the 'ruthless' one??!
