  1. You can't get a lot stronger with all 3 heat leaders being Number 1's in their respective 2019 teams and also riding Premiership!!
  2. Especially as it will be slightly cheaper to attend too!!
  3. ..and as he won't be there he won't know 600 or 1600?!
  4. The options keep changing for the 4 & 7. The number 4 rider has yet to sign the contract which has been on the table (and improved!) for around 3 weeks and he is not new to the Championship!! If he does sign then the number 7 will likely be a young Brit who is also no stranger to the Championship. However there is still the option for an untried 5.00 rider and another.
  5. Someone's been polishing their crystal ball!!!! But it all depends on the Number 4 rider's average.............!
  6. 35-40 points a meeting for the 3 heat leaders doesn't need much for the other 4 to get.
  7. Oh wow I don't think i've heard that one before!!?? Much! Apart from almost every other Gav post! Seriously can't keep away. Sad really!
  8. I'm sure the club will maintain its highly successful 'it's not how you start it's how you finish' policy.
  9. There are more than enough ready to do that on here without me chipping in. If I have an issue with MF then i'll raise it with him one to one. It's been like that since he took over.
  10. More than happy with the 3 heat leaders (who are all Premiership riders) and who I expect the two reserves to be. I gather there is a bit of a rethink with the number 4 position which may affect the final reserve. Neilsen also needs to prove he's not injury prone. With Danny Ford taking a much more hands on role with the day to day running if the club and a much more vibrant social media output - yes well pleased so far and renewed my deal with Danny today!!
  11. Anyway back on track Poole to announce their 5th rider (thats the Number 5!) at 7pm this evening. I'll leave this on the Premiership section as it will be another rider from a Premiership team that is double-downing!
  12. Please don't stoop to his level of personal insults!! He clearly has some sort of big bag of King Edwards on his shoulder about me, other Poole fans and all things to do with Poole!!
  13. Hey Dandelion thanks for the kind words - just for info it was announced that Stefan Neilsen (4.40) will start at 2 for Poole rather than reserve. I'm not into predictions at this stage as I'm not knowledgeable enough of the other SGBC teams.
  14. Nothing to do with police. Let's simply say there was an unfortunate error with his visa application paperwork 2 years ago at a time when his off track issues were at their peak and the visa authorities would not allow him to reapply for a minimum of 2 years. He tried to get a different (restricted) visa last year which would have allowed him to work here but that was also turned down. All should be ok now but any application now will be treated along with any other. The fact he is an ex World Champ carries no weight at all.
  15. Hardly an excuse but real reasons!! I don't get what commitment issues you mean? He was due to start as a second string on 7.16 for Poole last season until the visa issue stopped him.
  16. Let's not forget Chris had some horrendous injuries as well as trying to move on from his best mate Darcy's career ending accident. There was also a lot of personal off track stuff that affected him deeply and still affects whether he gets a visa or not. If he signs at Ippo or anywhere else he'll be an 8 point rider for sure
  17. Strange. I can only remember Cyril Hart being the Poole correspondent for Speedway Mail. Whilst Gordon Elsworth for Speedway Star and Colin Smith for the local Echo. Incidentally you did say Poole were the club that destroyed the 1970s/80's NL with the 'Stewkesbury plan'!! How could they have destroyed the NL in the 70s when Mervyn and Pete didn't take over til 1985. Perhaps instead of accusing me of not learning to read you might express yourself more clearly and accurately
  18. Get your facts right. Mervyn and Pete Ansell didn't take over Poole til the mid 80's when they moved from Weymouth.
  19. Oops. I touched a nerve there didn't I?! Incidentally I would never say anything about your father as i've never come across him. You however are a totally different kettle of fish!! Anyone would think Poole have never ridden 2nd division before?! And yes I do remember the 80's very well especially my visits to Rye House!! Sorry to have disturbed your after lunch nap.
  20. Just a thought - do the unofficial rolling averages include ALL meetings ie some that do not qualify for the official GSA? A bit like the ones in the Speedway Star every week never correspond with the 'real' averages!!!
  21. Maybe they've found a mechanic for Hansen and he's back in the picture?
  22. Surely the Number 1 does have to have the highest average and ride at 1 - unless that rule is changed for 2020?!
  23. No details as to the format. And the date was announced before Poole decided to go Championship so anything might change even though Matt Ford has publicly promised Middlo a good 'pay day' after his previous testimonial fund, back in the mid-eighties, was nicked by the then promotion.
  24. With the Poole coffers not what they once were, why would you give up possibly your biggest pay-day of the season for a testimonial? With Middlo's renowned rider connections a barren date would be far better date for the man himself. A top quality line-up (with some riders not U.K. based) would be reflected by a huge crowd. Don't shoot the messenger - just saying what was announced.
