  1. Wolves will not run unless they get the go-ahead next week to start in August. Season tickets will be held over to 2021 as much money has been spent on a number of regular costs and track improvements with no admission income.
  2. So CVS has stated that unless there is a positive go-ahead next week to start in August 2020 then Wolves will not run until 2021. Without any admissions income there has still been much expenditure so Season tickets will be held over to 2021 when holders will also receive a free 2021 commemorative calendar!!
  3. Am I right in saying that greyhounds have continued racing at Newcastle (and various other ARC tracks) several times a week? If so then presumably any staff on furlough are those specifically employed for Speedway?! As the Diamonds statement says, 'a proposal re. furloughed staff has been put to the Stadium owners and we are awaiting a reply'!! Presumably that might include the Diamonds promotion picking up some/all of the staff costs?! Although I would have thought most of that cost would be covered by the stadium rental charges?
  4. As Poole Stadium is owned by the Council (only leased to Stadia UK to provide a minimum of 2 core sports as part of a designated leisure/sports facility!!) then if Speedway is allowed to return I imagine there could be some pressure brought to bear from the Council (with whom Matt Ford has a good relationship) onto Stadia UK to re-open and fulfill their leasehold obligations. Lets not forget that Stadia UK have NO income at the moment from carparking, bars, restaurant as well as rental from Speedway!! As Danny Ford says - its certainly a hurdle to overcome but not insurmountable by any means. Lets hope for some positive guidance announcements over the next week.
  5. Surely as with most clubs, much of the money taken for season tickets has probably been shelled out to riders, vehicle leasing companies etc as part of riders' signing on deals. Once any refunding starts then it will have to apply for all and maybe just maybe clubs and fans will have to wait until clubs can get some more income in.
  6. So at today's Govt briefing a timetable for other 'events' including some sports to be announced next week.
  7. Most clubs are simply waiting to see how many fixtures - if any - they can get in?! Just as a matter of interest, when applying/paying for a season ticket, did you have apply to the Norfolk Arena or the Panthers Promotion?
  8. The storage company is withholding the keys until the rental fees are paid!! Incidentally this week's SS has a more up-to-date (and realistic maybe) report on the latest info.
  9. Its not just about GP riders though is it? Any rider based in Poland especially those with an Ekstraliga place who also has a British team place will also be affected in the same way.
  10. GI are against anything that costs them money!!!
  11. Are you saying that British tracks have no 2xminute clock and no radio link between Start Marshall and Referee's box?? Clearly not been to Poole lately!!! I cannot comment on other tracks as I am unable to visit these days!!
  12. I see Len Silver has Leicester booked for his 2 teams' practice.
  13. The return of greyhounds to Poole Stadium - as with Speedway - is based upon the same 'go-ahead' from Government, so that the furloughed stadium staff can return to work.
  14. Re-wind 2003 KO Cup final v Coventry Bees - home and away legs on the next 2 Wednesdays July 1st and 8th.
  15. Given that clubs are looking at a mid-August start to a truncated season, why are those against any racing this season assuming that the social distancing rules from 4th July will be the same? Its another 6-8 weeks further on when its just as likely that social distancing will be minimal eg .5 of a metre as long as everyone wears a facecovering. Many clubs are offering branded club face masks already so its almost that they've been given a nod from the politicians on the Speedway Parliamentary group?!
  16. Every club will have its own challenges to overcome should speedway be allowed to start with crowds in August. Similarly each club will be working to its own budget and bottom line, so should know how many paying customers would be required to make it viable. If a club has covered all its match-day costs by sponsorship and advertising then only a small number of fans would be sufficient.
  17. Damien Bates BSPL Vice-Chair is speaking in similar vein to Stuart Dickson in his interview with Nigel Pearson on Speedwaygb.co.uk.
  18. Good interview on BBC Radio Oxford this morning featuring Nik Budimir - the potential stadium developer whose intention is to make the stadium facility usable 24/7 and is asking the people of Oxford (Cowley) what other regular sports/activities they would like to see at the stadium in addition to the 2 core sports - speedway and greyhounds!! Karting, Cycle speedway were mentioned as well as indoor activities including conferencing, dance classes etc.
  19. Interesting question as to who is responsible for ensuring social distancing (and its cost) for speedway in stadia owned by other landlords?!
  20. Scunny was also open for practice yesterday. Bomber was there.
