An ' unexpected accident in the pits' resulting in a dislocated shoulder!!
-
Surely the result doesn't matter as long as the racing was exciting?π Whether it was or wasn't I bet the large crowd will be back for the next home meeting. Well done Plymouth.....

Good to see the Pirate guests doing their thing and thinking ahead..π

Surely the only people saying that 'speedway at the Abbey was financially unviable' were Osborne (the stadium owner - who also ran the greyhounds) and the previous speedway promotion of Russell and Park. Maybe there was some sort of financial incentive (brown envelope?) offered to Russell/Park to say that speedway was unviable at the Abbey. And surely it would only become 'unviable' because of the exorbitant rent and stadium costs charged to the speedway promotion by the owner (Osborne)?! Pure supposition on my part of course....!π NB, Hasn't Rosco declared he would be in a position to front a new consortium with financial backing, for the Robins to continue at the Abbey - assuming of course that the running costs (stadium charges etc) were of an acceptable level?!

I don't recall them 'smoking' Harris and Howarth?! Lawson and Cook simply outgated them and they couldn't find a way past. It was a 'super' heat though with Poole worthy winners. Aside from Glasgow supporters, who will remember the runners-up? -

Well after a poor night for the Pirates, at least a win in the home leg will see us through to the BSN Series semis. -

So Oxford missing Eric Riss who is 'ill', replaced by Justin Sedgman!! I hope its not a recurrence of the 'dizziness' illness from previous seasons? -

The original Poole preview text had Cook at 3 and Kerr at 5, but it was changed/updated later.
