Poole Pirates 2021
SteveLyric2 replied to Pirates Of Poole's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Just to add to the intrigue around Poole's team re-building for 2021, on the facebook 'Memories of Poole Pirates' page, the administrator posted a Speedway Star cover showing Jason Crump and Bjarne Pedersen winning the Pairs back in 2007. Underneath was a comment from Matt Ford " Watch out for some extremely exciting news about these guys"!!! Let the intrigue commence............. -
Who are the Rising Stars?
SteveLyric2 replied to enotian's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I'm sure the BSPL announcement on Thursday mentioned 'any Brit with average of 4.00 or less' would get a star-rating of 3, 2 or below. Neil Vatcher will have the best overview. -
How do we know what standard of racing we are getting? There hasn't been any yet!
-
...and then everyone (on here at least) would be on at them for not saying anything!! In any normal year after the AGM in November, fixtures aren't usually available to fans til Jan/Feb anyway, even though clubs have their draft lists around the turn of the year.

That would mean Schlein coming in as the new number 1 - I don't see that somehow. Also Anders finished in Somerset's 1-5 so may not get the right 'star rating' for a reserve? -
Surely their priority is not to treat riders like mushrooms, then to let the fans know. Nothing worse than issuing a fixture list and then having to make wholesale changes if riders have fixture clashes. Its not as if fixtures are starting next week is it? Take a chill pill my friend.

Genuine question - Are the 'rising stars' allowed to double up/down in the top 2 leagues?

what price $#!t creek? -
Promoters have the draft fixtures so they can check rider availability, not least their chosen/allocated 'rising star', before confirming them and making an announcement.

Poole Pirates 2021

Possibly!! All will become clearer in the next week or so. Even though Danny has (a) tough decision(s) to make. -
Not sure about that - one or two dodgy photos not up to the expected level?!

Danny is saying one change only?! which is a little strange what with the Ellis situation. -
Different terminology for a Limited Company - BSPL not BSPA.

Poole Pirates 2021

Depends what his 2017 average of 7.16 converts to and/or what reduction the BSPL would agree to?! Quite apart from what leagues he is already committed to? -

Might depend on whether Stefan is on the 'Rising Star' list?? Also Ben Cook may be at risk especially as brother Zach won't be at Somerset? -
If that is the same as going back to Tier 2 then most Speedway tracks should be fine.
-
Why does anyone need to know about streaming until at least mid-April?

With fixtures due out in a matter of days, I doubt Danny or Matt will announce them without some sort of firm agreement with Stadia UK as well as the backing of BCP Council? -

What about Hans? -
Yes I understand that. I guess I was wondering if all the youngsters are to be graded on either of the 2 'Rising Star' grades, and every club has to have at least one, will there be enough to go around without pinching a couple from a team such as Eastbourne? I wonder if fans will get to see the Rising Star grading lists?
-
If Eurosport are fully behind it - as they claim - then it should help all clubs.
-
I would assume Neil Vatcher will be heavily involved in the respective 'star rating' of the riders and will presumably already have had some conversation with the riders as to who can ride when and where?1
-
So Eastbourne amongst the first to carry the SpeedwayGB announcement today - but no comment as to how it might affect their line-up?
