  1. Leicester and Poole are among the cheaper Championship prices at £17 Adult and £14 concessions so the larger proportion of attendees is only paying £14 rather than £20 or even £25 if you want to sit at certain other clubs..
  2. You didn't have to watch Kings Lynn either!!!
  3. I think that is a very fair summary SS. Poole will need to re-stock the financial coffers and also be reasonably successful in the Championship to retain their current sponsors and attract (back?) more. Fans voted for primarily Wednesday speedway and a greater variety of opponents. The Eurosport money is not worth that much. The Sunday fixture mentioned above is I believe on the August BH weekend with a 5pm start so should attract a bumper crowd along with all the home meetings in the school holidays will see Poole zoom up the Championship table, as many of the current top teams have ridden a load of their home meetings already and will finish their fixtures long before the play-off dates in September.
  4. Why do you think Poole are keeping their Number 2 spot open??
  5. rumour has it Bowtell might be guesting at 2 for Poole on Saturday.
  6. So Premiership meetings are on Mondays and Thursdays and tonight's televised fixture is mentioned on the Sheffield website and its also on the Eurosport TV programme listing from 7.30pm.
  7. What is that saying? 'Theres none so blind, as those that cannot/do not see'!?
  8. As I am privvy to what went on behind the scenes - straight from the horses mouth! - let me just say the whole issue was far less about his on track scores and was not about any specific exchange of expletives at the Promoter, but more about his off-track behaviour, letting the Promoter down and longer term specific effects on team spirit. The fall into the air fence on the day he departed and his attitude to others - including several Aussies there on the night - when he returned to the pits was 'after-the-fact' as decisions had already been made. No further comment from me on this issue. As for last night's meeting a great atmosphere, helped by some decent music and well done to the track staff for keeping the dust down and again providing a decent racetrack.
  9. I was told last Friday who Poole are going for but its all down to paperwork, permissions and timing of declarations. Not sure if there will be any announcement tonight as I believe the club have until midnight to submit - and have approved - their revised 1-7 for Friday's (July 23rd) August averages!!!
  10. Simples - if you want to become a club asset, don't p!$$ off fall out with the boss, no matter what the on track scores are/were. As for tonight, lets hope there are no more heat 1 accidents! When was it Rory first got injured? Oh yes heat 1 at Glasgow!!!! The track will suit Bjarne and Cookie. Its been great so far this season in the 2 previous home meetings but I guess today's extra-hot temperatures will make it very dry and slick!!
  11. So Garry May changes the riding order tonight. Ruml at 2;Keleher at 4
  12. Foreign league fixtures are far more advanced than ours! Should be an interesting evening tomorrow!!!!
  13. Should be a good crowd then.......! Although the forecasted temperature of 33 degrees tomorrow may keep some away. It'll be interesting to see how the track copes as its been very different in each of the previous 2 home meetings.
  14. That could well be Plan B, who would come in on a 4 point average. Plan A - a Scandanavian - may have hit similar problems to Smetana?! So we go with Kyle Bickley guesting on Wednesday and see where we are in relation to the August averages cut-off at the end of this week (23rd July!)
  15. Kyle Bickley is drafted in as a guest at 2 for Pirates on Wednesday. The facility for Smetana has lapsed. Jack Smith has signed for Plymouth and rides at 7.
  16. Will we have a new rider or a NDL option? Importantly the stadium is open to all again with no restrictions on attendance. Cash-only on the gate or the usual advance online option. Gates open at the original time of 1830 hours. For regulars, unfortunately last week's torrential flooding has virtually destroyed the Champs Bar and function space so this area WILL BE CLOSED for several weeks. However, the various snack bars are all open as is the downstairs bar in the glass (west) grandstand. Also new merchandise is on sale in the club shop. Patrons are asked to wear a face mask if they are wandering around the stadium or in the bars/toilets etc. As long as our 3 heat leaders come through their Premiership commitments on Monday evening then it should be a reasonable home win despite Jason and Bjarne.
  17. Its a bit time-sensitive - both for the line-up on Wednesday but also for the cut-off for the August averages (23rd July!!!!) when Poole will lose the 5 point option! However I gather there is much work going on behind the scenes involving British Embassys abroad etc etc.
  18. The Czech covid regs changed the day after Smetana was accepted by BSPL in the Poole 1-7, hence his difficulties in travelling and meeting his Czech contracted meetings. The BSPL gave a 7-day facility which allowed r/r for the Plymouth fixture last Tuesday. It doesn't apply for the coming home fixture unless BSPl grant an extension for another rider whose paperwork is in the system(?!) so Poole will be faced with either using an NDL rider (Jake Knight or similar?) unless they manage to sign another 5 pointer in time. WATCH THIS SPACE! PS if you believe Keleher was dropped solely because of his ontrack scores then I am afraid you are a little naive!!!!
  19. Not at all - just saying it might be a consideration if the club has lost money and a 'cheaper rider' in heat 15 might ease the financial pain a little. Its not as if Poole didn't take points from both the Eastie and Gladiators away meetings!
