  1. The travellers were in the lorry park rather than the main car park - apparently!
  2. The announcement of the possible delay of one week was made this morning before the Govt confirmation of 'Step 3'. Now that has happened the discussions with landlords and local council can now continue based upon a capacity of around 2000 ish and what social distancing measures can be controlled.
  3. They are probably the extra catering caravans in case the glass grandstand/ restaurant isn't functioning?!
  4. Perhaps they haven't realised that a 1930 meeting start time actually means no earlier than 1945hrs?!
  5. Bearing in mind where some of the riders are travelling from, we still don't know the confirmed line-ups? It surely wouldn't happen that the full 1-7s are announced and then on the day several rider changes (guests/rr etc) are confirmed - would it?!
  6. Such a shock and very sad for all concerned. Jon would often drop into Poole Stadium on matchdays if he was going to or from the West Country for his surfing. We always had a chat having worked with him on one of the indoor meetings. A good friend to Matt Ford - see his words on Poole website - RIP Jon.
  7. Like everyone else - waiting for the final confirmation that speedway can/will start.
  8. I thought all this weekends extraliga meetings were cancelled due to weather forecast?! If Premier/Freesports are still showing meetings on todays TV schedule then I guess they are re-runs of last week?
  9. With confirmation about Step 3 on 17th May still to be announced, I note all Prem clubs are going live with their online ticket sales from 11th May at 0900hrs, presumably based on a nudge nudge wink wink from Govt by 10th May. Expect those remaining Championship clubs to make their announcements on a similar timescale - if not sooner.
  10. So all Prem tickets available online from 9.00am on 11th May.
  11. Bjarne 2nd top-scored with 11+1 in the away defeat at Holsted!! (Masters only scored 5)
  12. Lee quoted in Speedy Star as 'fully expecting to be back at Swindon for 2022'!
  13. I think the start of the Swedish League has been deferred to June!
  14. Surely a change of normal rules for a less than normal season?! Maybe for TV meetings as the last thing TV would want is to see a couple of 'wobblers' (no disrespect to NL riders) in addition to the rising stars.
  15. The big question is whether both teams will have a full 1-7 or if guests will be in demand. Should be interesting bearing in mind 5 of the 6 Premiership teams are due to be racing that night!
  16. Eurosport have the contract for both British speedway plus GPs from next year 2022. When the contract was initially announced there was talk of Discovery/Eurosport setting up a 'Speedway Channel' in the longer term, so I guess their presentation will be very professional.
  17. All incoming Aussie riders will have to quarantine. Several are leaving it to the last possible minute in case the govt reduces the quarantine period. Thats also why some clubs don't have fixtures until end May or early June.
  18. Govt housing targets always affect local council decisions. (The occasional brown envelope also helps too!)
  19. Depending on how much attendances are restricted from May 17th, Poole only have 2 home meetings currently scheduled before the next significant date of June 21st when all/most restrictions of lockdown are likely to be lifted if current progress is maintained, so it may not be a huge problem for the club.
  20. Why would the glass grandstand be used during the day?
  21. Maybe just maybe someone was trying to make a story when there isn't one!!?
  22. The debate has been whether the glass grandstand/restaurant/bars/loos are to be open and if so how much it may affect the weekly rental. Way back Matt Ford had said he would be prepared to run without the glass grandstand being operational - but I'm not sure that would be easily achieveable.
  23. Danny Ford in the Echo today confirms that Poole have NOT taken any of the Govt loan cash made available to English Speedway! Also, advance ticketing arrangements and pricing to be announced in the next couple of weeks, whilst confirming that all season ticket holders (those rolled over from 2020 plus new ones for 2021) will get automatic entry to all qualifying fixtures..
