  1. I read this on Facebook! Is this just one customer? ...and approximately how much profit did you make yesterday or did you break even?
  2. Danny Ford and helpers have had a presence there previously. Maybe with all the issues at the stadium at the moment its taking up most of his time? The event is only on Fridays in July/August and Pirates have been due to ride away on a couple of those!
  3. Not sure if Basso is gonna appear on Wednesday as I think he may have one more Danish fixture to fulfill?
  4. Thanks for clarifying with regard to any stadium subsidy, so as the stadium is seperate I presume you pay a rental and with due respect you haven't answered the question - Do your Thursday race track evenings make a profit? I'm interested as many of your activities could be paid for by sponsors - which is fine. Many of your giveaways could also be donated - which is also fine!
  5. I'll do nothing but applaud the IOW team BUT how much does it cost, do they generate more income than cost or are the Thursday night activities subsidised by other stadium events/activities?
  6. Any business would be doing a cost/benefit analysis of any activity. Poole are very good at getting local media coverage - newspapers/tv and radio often have interviews with Matt, Danny Ford or Middlo - as well as terrific pre and post meeting coverage in the main local paper including online -and have got much better at using social media including showing meeting highlights on facebook which fans then share accordingly. In the past they have also had a merchandising presence in the main shopping centre. Of course at the moment the number one priority is getting back to a solid financial footing at the same time as having a successful team - both of which are progressing well with increased crowds (when the stadium allows!!). I'm interested in the bus advertising concept as when I worked in the events and media industry we carried out some research as to who had seen a particular product advertised on the buses and more importantly who had actually made a purchase of that product as a result of seeing the bus ad? The results were very poor although if part of a wider awareness marketing campaign across various different media, then it may get better results - but at what cost??
  7. I haven't been able to get onto the Speedwaygb website for the past couple of days - keeps coming up 'error'!!
  8. From the horses mouth about 2 weeks ago, it costs Poole roughly one third less per meeting to run Championship compared to Premiership - and we are talking 5 figure sums for each home meeting.
  9. Give Harrogate Town supporters a call - I'm sure they'll have a view!!
  10. Not sure where the 1300 attendance came from. Both restricted meetings had well under 800 at a time when stadium rental was increased to cover the costs of all the extra Covid things eg 21 extra stewards etc. Lets not forget that wages from away meetings also had to be paid. Poole only get income from admissions/programmes/sponsors and advertising.
  11. As the intended sponsor of the Poole v Redcar meeting, as soon as the rearranged date is confirmed, I'll ask Danny Ford to see if the meeting can be streamed - especially for those Redcar fans who have missed out this week. Maybe Redcar could arrange the same next Friday for those Poole fans not able to travel?! (Assuming its not rained off of course)
  12. .....and it will depend on the structure of the League(s)?!!
  13. At least at the end of their last televised meeting, Kelvin, Sam and the female presenter not only mentioned the Championship but also showed the Championship table. Kelvin made the point that many of the Prem riders that they see on Eurosport can also be seen at Championship meetings. So maybe, just maybe we might yet see some Championship racing before the season ends?!
  14. No. Having worked as a senior manager at a large venue with a total capacity of around 10,000, the Licensed Premises Supervisor must be on the premises if the public are admitted in substantial numbers. Its not just a simple case of handing the stadium keys to someone else unless the 'someone else' has also passed the Licensed Premises certification.
  15. Presumably the Stadia UK Caretaker Manager (Dave) is the official Licensed Premises Supervisor - all large venues holding public events with alcohol must have one - so without him/her on site the stadium cannot operate. Its unusual for a large venue to only have one LPS but as Stadia UK laid off all except a couple of staff then I guess its to be expected.
  16. Meeting is Off due to stadium management contracting Covid!!Official statement going out shortly
  17. Poole's choice of guest at number 2 is even more restricted now. It can't be Bickley again as he guested last Wednesday. Kemp's average has now gone above 3.75, so it looks like it'll have to be a 'Rising Star'?!
  18. Sorry - I didn't realise Hartlepool and Man City were in the same league!!!
  19. So sad to see this news, R.I.P. Philip Rising
