  1. I haven't been able to get onto the Speedwaygb website for the past couple of days - keeps coming up 'error'!!
  2. From the horses mouth about 2 weeks ago, it costs Poole roughly one third less per meeting to run Championship compared to Premiership - and we are talking 5 figure sums for each home meeting.
  3. Give Harrogate Town supporters a call - I'm sure they'll have a view!!
  4. Not sure where the 1300 attendance came from. Both restricted meetings had well under 800 at a time when stadium rental was increased to cover the costs of all the extra Covid things eg 21 extra stewards etc. Lets not forget that wages from away meetings also had to be paid. Poole only get income from admissions/programmes/sponsors and advertising.
  5. As the intended sponsor of the Poole v Redcar meeting, as soon as the rearranged date is confirmed, I'll ask Danny Ford to see if the meeting can be streamed - especially for those Redcar fans who have missed out this week. Maybe Redcar could arrange the same next Friday for those Poole fans not able to travel?! (Assuming its not rained off of course)
  6. .....and it will depend on the structure of the League(s)?!!
  7. At least at the end of their last televised meeting, Kelvin, Sam and the female presenter not only mentioned the Championship but also showed the Championship table. Kelvin made the point that many of the Prem riders that they see on Eurosport can also be seen at Championship meetings. So maybe, just maybe we might yet see some Championship racing before the season ends?!
  8. No. Having worked as a senior manager at a large venue with a total capacity of around 10,000, the Licensed Premises Supervisor must be on the premises if the public are admitted in substantial numbers. Its not just a simple case of handing the stadium keys to someone else unless the 'someone else' has also passed the Licensed Premises certification.
  9. Presumably the Stadia UK Caretaker Manager (Dave) is the official Licensed Premises Supervisor - all large venues holding public events with alcohol must have one - so without him/her on site the stadium cannot operate. Its unusual for a large venue to only have one LPS but as Stadia UK laid off all except a couple of staff then I guess its to be expected.
  10. Meeting is Off due to stadium management contracting Covid!!Official statement going out shortly
  11. Poole's choice of guest at number 2 is even more restricted now. It can't be Bickley again as he guested last Wednesday. Kemp's average has now gone above 3.75, so it looks like it'll have to be a 'Rising Star'?!
  12. Sorry - I didn't realise Hartlepool and Man City were in the same league!!!
  13. So sad to see this news, R.I.P. Philip Rising
  14. Surely all Championship sides had the same team-building opportunities. With Poole dropping down in order to save money I'm sure they haven't 'outbid' anyone to get their 1-7 (when they do actually have their full 1-7!), bearing in mind initially they were expecting to track Adam Ellis and Josh MacDonald! The closure of Somerset came at exactly the same time for all other clubs to consider those released riders in their respective line-ups.......
  15. If Pirates manage an early lead they need to be ruthless rather than the mid-meeting 'laid-back approach' that seems to have been the case lately. With guests Brennan and Cook, a decent away win is certainly achieveable and would see Pirates go to second place in the Championship with meetings (mainly home) still in hand. I hope its a good crowd for Newcastle today.
  16. Pirates clutching defeat from the jaws of victory again!! Not sure why Hume was not used in heat 12, but hey ho well done to the Bandits for sticking at it. At least a decent away win at Newcastle this afternoon will see Pirates go 2nd in the table - still with meetings in hand.
  17. Are they still running greyhounds at Blunsdon?
  18. At Poole we can't run anything before 3 pm on school days due to the stadium being next to a school and speedway needing to use their car park as 'overflow'. The costs of running training schools or even stand-alone NDL fixtures would need to cover a substantial £four figure cost.
  19. Poole guests are at number 2 Edwards;Edwards and Bowtell' At 6 J.Wright; J.Wright and Zach Cook Hopefully with Havvy as Team Manager, if we win the coin toss we'll defer to Heat 15?!
  20. £20 for a double header when the club is in financial straits is crazy. Surely £25 or maybe even £30 would have been achievable with single entry reduced to £14/15 would have worked better.
