I understand after the dust problems in the first 4 heats the previous week due to not getting enough water into the track, the track guys went overboard with watering during the day on Wednesday. So much so that the riders saw how uneven and 'claggy' (technical term) the track was on their track walk. The issue was raised by both team captains particularly going into turn 1 and turn 3 and these were clearly inspected by the Referee before the meeting began and as some have said the riders asked for no watering once the meeting had started. I know the club are trying to get some 'new' shale but this is proving a challenge in the short term and with the weather forecast for Sunday being hot and sunny plus with an earlier 5pm start, I'm not sure how the track will be? Incidentally is James Shanes riding as he was given time off due to the imminent birth of his child?

Lawson will surely go to Glasgow to replace Cook?! More importantly who is replacing Nick Morris over the next week? -
Edinburgh v Poole 27/8/21 7.30pm

r/r for Richie as no suitable replacement for concussion victim Nick Morris!! -
No Cook for Ippo - replaced by Chris Harris.

Can't see it being 'burnt down' as GI are still operating the greyhounds but someone 'prominent' should be lobbying the Swindon Advertiser to start campaigning - theres nothing the local politicians like less than negative media attention.

Maybe Lee Kilby will come back to lead some fan pressure, now that he has little to do in Sussex? Can't expect Rosco to do too much at the moment as he is still laid up after his knee operation. Is Terry Russell still the owner?

James Wright in a heat leader position at 3 is a tougher prospect than when guesting for Poole at 2 or 6! -

No, neither for the home meeting v Brummies on Sunday. New averages come into effect 1st September which as far as Poole are concerned is their away meeting at Birmingham. -
So if they came out and said 'We've met with GI but they can't tell us anything different at the moment', that would be enough for Robins supporters?
-
The club can't say anything if they are not being told anything by GI

If this hot, sunny weather continues as it is forecast to do through tomorrow then its going to be a struggle for the track staff and the water bowser to get enough water into the track!!! -
So Lee Kilby's video thanking the riders and the stadium owners for their continued support means very little then?!

How Well is Your Club Promoted?

Clearly there is more interest in a successful 'Dad's Army' team of established riders than one of young up-and-coming and often struggling future stars?! -

I assume that whatever Peterborough are doing to promote, it seems to be working if last night's delayed start due to massive queues of fans wanting to get in?!! -

My post did say from September 1st so any changes in riding order effective for Poole's away meeting at Birmingham. The only thinking being discussed in the crowd last week was if Worrall goes to number 1 (with Nielsen going to 2 to keep their successful partnership, unless Cook's average gets to higher than Stefan's?) -

Further to Lisa's reply the car park is £2.50 cash only, payable at the kiosk on entry. The car park is used as a hospital overflow car park during the day so is heavily used during the day until shifts change. On a weekday it usually begins to clear of hospital staff between 5.15 and 6.15pm. I usually arrive around 6 pm and park very easily with gates/turnstiles opening from 6.30pm. There are usually queues at both sets of entry. Not sure yet what is happening for the Brum meeting on Bank Holiday Sunday with a 5pm start? I expect they will announce more on Wednesday. Hope this helps -

You should be able to grab seats in the grandstand if you are in before 7pm. Alternatively you can stand pretty much anywhere from in front of the grandstand (although depending on how big your kids are they may not see everything) to around all 4 bends or sitting/standing in the glass stand (if you don't mind viewing behind glass??!) Incidentally the stadium car park costs £2.50 per vehicle. Also currently there are restrictions on bar and food availability! -
Write to Gaming International at Swindon Stadium - you never know you may get a reply?!

The cut-off for September 1st averages is Monday next (23rd). I wonder if there could be a change in rider order? -
Another thought - for those clubs likely to be in the play-offs and well advanced with their fixtures, they won't want to finish those fixtures too quickly and then have a long (no fixture) wait to the play-offs, whilst other play-off contenders are keeping race-fit right up to the deadline.
