  1. Yeah 'unbeatable' around Armadale!!!! Oh hang on..............ahem King, ahem Worrell!!
  2. I have every sympathy for Cook's mental issues - my brother went through something very similar and recovered almost fully with professional help over several months. But hasn't Craig only been off for the past week? I find it difficult to understand how he has recovered in such a short time, unless severely medicated - which might pose a different problem for the authorities if he is allowed to restart racing?!
  3. The issue as Steve has already mentioned could be Wednesday night fixture clashes, although Poole have managed very well with other Danish riders in the past (Yes I know not always on Wednesdays!) Incidentally in Brum's meeting preview - such as it is - they still have Ben Basso riding tomorrow?!
  4. Matt's comments referred to the landlords (GI) wanting to impose a dramatic increase in rent, without negotiation, despite only parts of the stadium being available/open and other parts eg changing rooms, in a state of disrepair - this being despite the accepted and agreed 3% annual increase since Matt took over in 1999. The Council Leader said publicly in 2 video Q&As a few weeks ago that they would support the retention of speedway in Poole and also assist/intervene if the leaseholders were making things difficult!! Those videos and other evidence including photos will I'm sure be in the hands of Poole Speedway's solicitors - who are also a club sponsor and partner in Matt's French Chateau business - to bring pressure where its needed!! Meanwhile, the track is receiving some serious work this week with some clay-based material secured from Edinburgh and being transported down today in time for Friday's meeting, along with some new track equipment - a vibrating road roller no less!!!.
  5. Good to see Danny King registering his 15 point maximum - all achieved after the 'hole' was made raceable. Good work!!
  6. I note in the Q&A Mr Jordan says the stadium rental is £1000 + VAT per meeting!! Some other tracks would consider that a snip!!
  7. Matt knew he would miss 2 meetings due to Danish League clashes but didn't think Fjelsted would also reach their play-offs, which they have. If Fjelsted win their semi, the final is on 15th September when Poole currently have no meeting!!
  8. Yes could be but I doubt it. His 4th qualifying away meeting was Edinburgh on Friday, so any new 'proper' average would come into effect 7 days later, ie for Poole's home meeting with Glasgow, when Stefan Nielsen will probably drop to reserve with Danyon. The issue for Matt/Danny/Middlo will then be which Ben rides at 2 & 4, I imagine.
  9. Surely when a club folds their riders become the 'property' of BSPL?
  10. I guess Poole will run r/r for Basso on Wednesday as his Danish team are in their play-off semi finals. Danny, Stefan, Ben and Danyon can take the rides - better than a very limited choice of possible under 5 point guests!
  11. New September averages mean Bomber goes at 1 for Brummies. Poole should be the same 1-7 riding order.
  12. Having just seen the new September 1 averages, both Rory and Steve have increased theirs with (surprisingly) Danny dropping slightly! Assuming the new averages are correct (you're never 100% sure with BSPl!) then Poole should retain their same 1-7 riding order for September, which I confess surprises me slightly, unless Middlo reckons Worrall and King switch 3 & 5? BUT if it ain't broke, why change it?
  13. Well Rosco certainly wants and hopes to run in 2022 according to this week's piece in Speedway Star, whether in a 'new' stadium or as it was in 2019!! He reckons they - the speedway club - are expecting an update from the stadium management any time soon!!
  14. Maybe but you can't guest at home for the same club more than once in 8 days
  15. Nick has concussion from last night so an automatic minimum riding absence for 7 days (I think)
  16. Perhaps the fact that he is guesting for Glasgow is swaying some peoples' opinion?
  17. I'm honestly surprised at Rory taking the booking with everything he's got going on off track!! By Monday he will have done 8 meetings in 8 days, which followed 4 meetings in 5 days the previous week. His scores have been a little 'hit & miss' to say the least.
  18. A cracked/fractured finger would be quite sore I imagine?!
  19. I understand after the dust problems in the first 4 heats the previous week due to not getting enough water into the track, the track guys went overboard with watering during the day on Wednesday. So much so that the riders saw how uneven and 'claggy' (technical term) the track was on their track walk. The issue was raised by both team captains particularly going into turn 1 and turn 3 and these were clearly inspected by the Referee before the meeting began and as some have said the riders asked for no watering once the meeting had started. I know the club are trying to get some 'new' shale but this is proving a challenge in the short term and with the weather forecast for Sunday being hot and sunny plus with an earlier 5pm start, I'm not sure how the track will be? Incidentally is James Shanes riding as he was given time off due to the imminent birth of his child?
