Speaking of guests, a question being asked on facebook is how can Glasgow use Luke Crang to guest for Sedgman when he is not in a current Prem or Champ 1-7? Alternatively, how many rising stars can a club track in the same meeting?

Stefan actually increased his average from 4.29 to 4.51 but not enough to match Ben Cook's increase! With the track being re-laid today its good that Ben and Ben are getting some practice laps in before tomorrow.

Hopefully we'll have Ellis as per the original plan!!

Poole's website, social media and in particular their twitter are all updated regularly so I still don't see how they weren't made aware of the changes by the morning of the meeting!!?

That would explain it then - although doesn't explain why Brum and Poole both had Cook still at reserve in their respective previews and it wasn't updated in the programme.

I believe you can sign a replacement for a 'season-ending' injury!! However thats not to say there is anyone suitable that is available?! I reckon guests on a meeting per meeting basis and would be surprised if its not Zach Cook v Glasgow?!

I was certainly surprised at the change in riding order last night - I assume insisted upon by the referee as it wasn't in any of the match previews nor printed in the programme!!. I was under the impression that Ben Cook completed his 4 home/4 away meetings during Poole's win at Edinburgh last Friday (The one where Havvy was Team Manager!) which would have meant a new average 7 days later (I thought that was the rule, as it was after the 23rd August cut-off for September averages?) ie for the home meeting on Friday v Glasgow not last night!? But what do i know? I wonder if Neil Watson might care to comment?

Could always replace him with Richie Hawkins!!?? He knows a good team when he sees one - and he's seen quite a few at Foxhole this season, unfortunately not Ipswich though!

I have every sympathy for Cook's mental issues - my brother went through something very similar and recovered almost fully with professional help over several months. But hasn't Craig only been off for the past week? I find it difficult to understand how he has recovered in such a short time, unless severely medicated - which might pose a different problem for the authorities if he is allowed to restart racing?!

The issue as Steve has already mentioned could be Wednesday night fixture clashes, although Poole have managed very well with other Danish riders in the past (Yes I know not always on Wednesdays!) Incidentally in Brum's meeting preview - such as it is - they still have Ben Basso riding tomorrow?!

Matt's comments referred to the landlords (GI) wanting to impose a dramatic increase in rent, without negotiation, despite only parts of the stadium being available/open and other parts eg changing rooms, in a state of disrepair - this being despite the accepted and agreed 3% annual increase since Matt took over in 1999. The Council Leader said publicly in 2 video Q&As a few weeks ago that they would support the retention of speedway in Poole and also assist/intervene if the leaseholders were making things difficult!! Those videos and other evidence including photos will I'm sure be in the hands of Poole Speedway's solicitors - who are also a club sponsor and partner in Matt's French Chateau business - to bring pressure where its needed!! Meanwhile, the track is receiving some serious work this week with some clay-based material secured from Edinburgh and being transported down today in time for Friday's meeting, along with some new track equipment - a vibrating road roller no less!!!.

Nobody knows what is happening next season!

I note in the Q&A Mr Jordan says the stadium rental is £1000 + VAT per meeting!! Some other tracks would consider that a snip!!

Matt knew he would miss 2 meetings due to Danish League clashes but didn't think Fjelsted would also reach their play-offs, which they have. If Fjelsted win their semi, the final is on 15th September when Poole currently have no meeting!!
