  1. Why would club promoters (ie the BSPL) vote for something that 'obviously isn't really working'? If as is often claimed, they only have 'self-interest' at heart then surely it follows that they must - in the main - be relatively happy with finances, attendances and the status quo?!
  2. Not sure that all your rider averages will be correct as BSPL are yet to produce the final 2021 listing, with all Eastbourne fixture scores being deducted or increased?
  3. Kevin Boothby is now the stadium 'owner' with a ten-year lease to re-open the stadium and make it a fully operational, 24/7 Leisure and Sports facility. He is a greyhound track owner at Henlow(?) and one other. Also had involvement at Towcester racecourse - but not sure what the situation there is now?
  4. If they are sensible they will study their end-of-season finances with a fine tooth comb before deciding to go Premiership in 2023!!
  5. Its his busiest time of the year coming up in December, isn't it??
  6. Honest question - is it confirmed that Fricke is returning to UK/Belle Vue racing?
  7. Had a superb evening with fellow Poole sponsors, friends, volunteers, Promoters, Team Manager and 2 riders at the local curry house last night! No news to be announced yet - other than confirmation that on paper the preferred 1-7 for 2022 had now changed twice!!!
  8. The 'traditional' AGM has always been 2-3 days. This year its only to be a 'one-day' rubber-stamping exercise of what has been already agreed over the Zoom meetings and to give Brummies more time. Most company AGM's have a very strict agenda and are usually over and done with in a couple of hours at most!
  9. Its the greyhound guy that has bought the stadium including the speedway!!
  10. I can't see Douglas going anywhere near a Fri/Sat/Sun track
  11. Some other clubs have indicated the points limit to be 42 for the full 1-7, with '2021 rising stars' having their true average (less the 2.5% British discount) I would guess (and it really is a guess) that the 2 riders who have 'agreed terms for 2022' are the Cook brothers! This may or may not be confirmed later today................
  12. I'm sure Poole sponsors Trethowans Solicitors are well on the case.
  13. Probably because it was all agreed at the pre-AGM 'Zoom' meeting to allow clubs to begin to formulate their teams (without Rising Stars?!) but will not be confirmed or 'rubber-stamped' and announced until the one-day AGM later.
  14. Also heard the same - straight from 'a horse's mouth'!!!
  15. Well done - lets hope it doesn't delay any domestic league/cup fixtures!!
  16. The Kent situation seems pretty clear from the latest statement - the stadium 'sale' documentation between ARC and Cearns should have included that speedway would continue under the new stadium ownership! This appears not to have been the case and ARC are now spreading the rumour that the local Council 'do not want speedway there' -despite no complaints or evidence of contravening any planning consent. Hence no speedway in 2022, but......................??
  17. It clearly made a big difference to be happy where he was racing - under Brit team managers etc etc.
  18. 2 riders have agreed terms but not signed up yet!! Matt's initial 1-7 has already changed at least once!
  19. I only said 'no rider announcements in the immediate future'! That doesn't mean that negotiations and signings are not taking place - just not being announced as if you think about it any rider announcements might influence the legal/rental negotiations which incidentally have already been going on for a month or more!! Poole have already stated last week that terms have been agreed with 2 riders. Along with the riders 'released' by Leicester/Eastbourne/Kent there are still plenty of options.
