I read that as the last thing being the final rider?! Maybe its a paperwork thing, visa or something taking a bit of extra time. As we know from past experience if one final piece of the jigsaw doesn't fit or is missing then it can throw the rest of the team-building into a re-think on points available etc.

Aside from what may or may not have been said publicly (and my recollection is that Ben did say he would love to return if the fixtures could be sorted out?!), the only people that actually know for sure are Ben and Matt/Danny Ford - plus possibly a couple of his Poole sponsors. So we've read Danny's comments and now we await the Ben interview in a forthcoming Speedway Star. Then it'll be 'make your mind up' time! PS. As much as I dislike giving £2.50 every meeting to Stadia UK, I do however still use the stadium car park as the old legs aren't what they used to be!!!

It says the BSPL have confirmed he's a Poole asset in this week's Speedway Star!!

And as I mentioned on the Poole thread - Matt will be looking to recoup some of his lost Christmas bookings at the Chateau now that France has banned tourists from UK from Saturday, so a big fee probably. It will probably go to arbitration by the BSPL Board - I guess Danny will have a view!

So back on track - I see the Speedway Star this week is reporting that Mr Basso is in fact a Poole asset and that Glasgow will probably have to pay a transfer fee. (probably a big fee as Matt's French Chateau is likely to be affected by Christmas cancellations after the French ban on British tourists from Saturday!) Also Poole's delay in naming riders for 2022 is caused - in part - to not being able to include Basso in their plans. 2 riders due in town last Tuesday to sign the paperwork on their previously agreed verbal contract terms, so lets hope theres no hiccups there.

Only one due to fixture clashes, although early on after signing he had visa and covid issues so missed a few. He also missed a couple in October due to rib injuries picked up in the Danish play-offs.

Not at all. The Danish season is quite short comparatively - hence how Poole were able to sign Basso up mid-season.

If you read the club statement it says Poole were prepared to run on off nights when there were crashes with Danish fixtures. I mean they have the choice of 4 other days if required. Anyway moving on..........first signing announcement this week - hopefully!

Of the Cooks it could only be Zach at reserve as he has the lower average of the 2 Cooks. Of course the team building could all have changed again?!

The Basso deal was done at the end of the play off final first leg - as several of the Poole fans at the Glasgow track will testify! Just surprised Glasgow took so long to confirm/announce it!!

At least most Pirate fans have been prepared for losing him. As it was fairly clear from his end of season comments. Glasgow fans will love his swashbuckling style - as long as he stays injury-free!!

Presumably he won't be in the Poole v Glasgow fixture on a Wednesday??
