  1. Great to hear some positive vibes from the meeting today.
  2. I'll say it again - its not how you start its how you finish!! We didn't get Basso til end August in 2021 but still did pretty well prior to that. I would wager that the Fords have their eye on someone similar to bring in if required mid-season - in any case it keeps the starting 1-7 on their toes - whoever they maybe?
  3. I meant it rhetorically! If a club has the choice of more than one rider on similar averages for a team place, then they will tend to opt for the club asset if there is one rather than pay another loan fee to another rider's club.
  4. Surely people aren't asking to know what a rider gets paid - just whether he's on a guarantee or not. If/When a rider IS on a guarantee thats usually not all he gets in his financial package!!
  5. Clearly some clubs don't get enough fans to chip in!!
  6. Not surprising that the British Champion is asking for a 'guarantee' - so maybe off to Oxford then?
  7. Hook scored 021ex2 in today's NSW state Championships. Not a patch on the top 8.
  8. Masters and Pickering were 2nd and 3rd behind Jack Holder in today's NSW State Championships.
  9. Great effort considering he was up against far more experienced riders. Zach (spelled ZAC in the racecard!) did well too and should both hold their own as second strings in the Championship.
  10. I think any brown bags are far more likely to be going TO France rather than from!!!!?
  11. Gaming International - not Poole Speedway - charged £2.50 per car on speedway nights. They run the car park on behalf of the Council as part of the stadium lease. The car park is used for office workers, shoppers and hospital workers during the day.
  12. Heard a whisper - not from a reliable source - that Ablitt is being considered.
  13. Wow this all appears to have kicked off a bit in the past 24 hours or so!!! Nothing more relevant to report (or spin) from this 'mouthpiece' at the moment (sorry Lewy!), as those of us in regular contact with the club have given all the latest updates already. I can't wait for the season to start to be honest and look forward in 2022 to keeping up with our 2021 unbeaten home record, so in the meantime its back to my Pirates Double-winning 2021 DVD.
  14. Matt Ford told me last week that he was hopeful of the rent issue being sorted shortly after Christmas. As soon as he had received written confirmation which had been delayed due to 'people being away on holiday'. I would expect the rider announcements to begin thereafter. It'll be very interesting to see the football club's stadium plans next month as well as the BCP Council's revised 'big plan' to regenerate various areas of the conurbation with reduced housing targets. The previous Poole Council had earmarked a section of the Poole Stadium Car/Lorry park and vacant office block backing onto Wimborne Road for housing development, which could have been achieved without having any major impact on the Stadium itself.
  15. Yet it was Osborne's decision to stop the greyhounds and leaving speedway as the only tenant towards making the stadium all-year-round unviable?!
  16. Adam Ellis has not (yet) got a Danish league team place in 2022.
  17. Sorry if I missed it but has Adam Ellis got a Danish League team place in 2022?
  18. Correct - and maybe for how long? NB. Any proposals for a new stadium from the football club and/or whoever will take years to reach fruition - assuming its agreed? - whether its on the existing stadium site or elsewhere. The Council today say they are due to announce their revised 'local plan' next month with a dramatic reduction in the number and type of new homes required, so pressure on sites such as Poole Stadium should be less.
  19. The interview said the new stadium would be for football and 'community use'.
