  1. Yep they have gone back to Plymouth - its closer to the owner's home.
  2. The winking emoji usually means 'I'm kidding'! But each to their own
  3. I think last season proved that there are some very good Aussie 4 pointers around - if you have the right contacts to bring them over.
  4. Clearly for some clubs the opportunity to be featured later in the season might be reduced somewhat!!
  5. A 'mystery rider' from LR's worldwide contacts, requiring visa and other paperwork?! Curiouser and curiouser............
  6. So what now for the Aces final 2 riders. It was to be Bewley and Thomson. Will Thomson still be in the mix or will it all be down to availability and averages?
  7. I see BSPL have put out an official statement now.
  8. Can anyone (R&R?) throw light on the rumour that is rife on the Belle Vue Premiership thread that Poland have relaxed their 'max 2 leagues only' rule for riders, in return for being allowed to race on any night with priority on rider use?
  9. You can always put me on 'ignore'! Although you seem more interested in Poole than your own team Plymouth. Club fans should blow their own trumpet whenever there is an announcement by their club. As Poole are one of the clubs that don't go with a 'main sponsor' then this forum and others can create extra exposure for those organisations that give their financial support.
  10. Why would it be unfair? The team is within the points limit. Other Premiership teams had the same opportunity and the Poles run on whatever night they want anyway!
  11. I'd heard that Bewley and Thomson were in the proposed1-7 lodged with BSPL some weeks back.
  12. ...and if he can get away from the severe flooding in and around Brisbane!!
  13. And yet another Poole sponsor renews for 2022 - Trethowan Solicitors. Great supporters of the club and the Fords. Always good to be in a partnership with a strong legal firm - you never know when you might need one! Although it seems that one of the newer companies may have had a change of heart.
  14. ...and getting back to Poole, the Poole REF tend to 'help' the younger (more junior?) riders first, as they tend to be paid less per point, have less of an attractive financial deal from the club and are likely to have less sponsors compared to the 'top' riders in the team. Despite suggestions to the contrary, Poole are not big payers but they are reliable, regular payers with limited sources of income. At Poole the only income the club benefits from - aside from merchandise - is admission sales, advertising (banners and programme) and sponsorship. Everything else goes to the stadium which is why the speedway management work so diligently to attract club sponsorship.
  15. The clubs in nearly every sport - professional or otherwise - have 'supporters/fan clubs' which are either 'official' or 'unofficial'. The point being that most of them hold social functions or activities throughout the season/year which raise money to assist their clubs, team members and local sports communities. As others have stated, the decision whether to partake is an individual choice...!
  16. The Poole REF raise money to give riders assistance when they get injured, crash or have damage to machinery.
  17. So only 4 weeks to go to P&P day on 25th March plus a quiznight and auction in aid of Riders Equipment Fund (R.E.F.) in the evening.
  18. yes. Thermohome are now on board having been previously linked with Plymouth I believe. Both of Bjarne's teams were offered to any Poole sponsors for this one off meeting, as well as the meeting sponsor County Crest Pallets who are very good mates of Bjarne. Heat and rider sponsorships are also on offer - although very limited availability now - along with fuel and tyre sponsorship.
