They just didn't say which week!!!!! -
Just to add a bit of balance, for many clubs especially those that rent their stadia, programme sales and advertising are a valuable and often only income source in addition to admissions and any sponsorship! Even more important if the promotion don't benefit from any food/beverage or car park income!!

PIRATES charger Richard Lawson felt he was “wrongly disqualified” after being excluded following a frightening crash involving Plymouth’s Michael Palm Toft on Wednesday. An ambulance was called on track during the 45-45 draw between the sides at Wimborne Road after Dane Palm Toft’s bike had reared up on bend four during heat seven, while he and Lawson were battling for the lead. Lawson had already passed Kyle Howarth during the heat and attempted to dive under Palm Toft, before the Dane took out two panels of air fence while being flung up into the air. Thankfully, Palm Toft was able to walk away from the nasty spill. He was withdrawn from the meeting with a suspected shoulder injury. Giving his take on the incident, Lawson told Pirates’ website: “I haven't actually seen the replay of the incident but after turn three he (Palm Toft) took a glance and I felt like he had seen me and knew where I was going. “And I wasn't going to take him straight to the fence but he ran a bit out wide and mistimed the dirt and he got out of control. “I feel like there was no contact. I can't be certain of that but, if there was, it was while he was out of control. “So, for me I believe I was wrongly disqualified and I just wish the referee would have taken a look at the replay before he made his decision.” Speaking on the centre green post-meeting, Whitehaven-born Lawson added: “Obviously I am not trying to take people out and I don’t want to see anybody injured but he (Palm Toft) is not very happy. His wife’s not very happy. “But that’s speedway.” (Taken from today's Bournemouth Echo) -
Here is your chance Robins fans - Join the protest at the stadium on Monday 27th June at 6pm 'Save Our Stadium' with the Swindon Advertiser in attendance.

Thanks Steve - finally someone has given some facts. I've already given my congrats to Plymouth last night when I got in from the meeting. Poole would surely have lost if MPT had been able to continue. As to the referee, I think he gave dubious decisions to both teams last night. As to the Lawson/MPT incident, from my position in the grandstand - which was pretty much directly full on to the riders as they come off turn 4 - MPT was already lifting and heading outwards when Lawson came under him. Did they touch? yes slightly, but MPT was already out of control on his back wheel by then. More to the point I really don't know why Danny King chose gates 1&3 to start with as he's gone 2&4 or deferred to heat 15 virtually all season?! The track has had some excellent comments from various riders in recent weeks, but I'd be keen to hear what the riders thought last night? Anyway onwards and upwards - its the start of the Summer Trophy next month, so this will all add to the spice!!!!! You never know, Plymouth may actually compete with 7 of their own riders...................?? -

Well that went on a bit!!!! Well done to Plymouth and Leicester. Definitely would have won if MPT hadn't withdrawn. No excuses but the track was so slick and dusty. Danny King made the wrong choice of gates 1 and 3 in heat 1. Anyway onwards and upwards. -
Good luck to Eastbourne -----the South Coast rivalry is sorely missed.

Poole are doing exactly that......

Poole reckoned it was 30% cheaper to run Championship rather than Prem. This is partly due to doubling up (or down) riders accepting a lower pay rate in the Championship as they have the comfort or financial cushion of a Prem place. It doesn't just apply to heat leaders either. There will always be stronger and weaker teams in whatever format the leagues take. Even bringing back some sort of rider control can only work up to a point and many riders won't be told where they can ride. A way forward is to have one league with 2 regional divisions plus an NDL.

Such a shame. Is there anyone who is friendly with any of the Newcastle United FC staff, management or ex/current players? It would be nothing more than pocket money to any of them to help out?!

Riders will go wherever there's a guarantee of being paid.
