Why pathetic? As a former Pirate Eddie was probably on Middlo's list of potential riders for his testimonial, so perfectly reasonable to ring him up to ask the question.

Am I correct in thinking that BWD is fit to face again?

Has anyone actually asked Eddie if he's fit to ride? Maybe thats why Middlo replied like he did in the post-meeting conference last night?!!

I think that with many on here continuing to bang the drum about speedway attendances dropping everywhere, Poole fans (and Oxford too it seems) simply want to state that crowds are still very buoyant. Witnessing comments from other promotions, they too appreciate the number of travelling Poole fans plus the positive effect on home/neutral fan numbers when Poole visit those tracks. As for last night's meeting Oxford were excellent value and were unlucky not to take anything away from the meeting having led all the way to heat 14!! Having to watch the meeting from the glass-fronted hospitality area rather than my usual position close to the startline, I did miss the atmosphere except when down on centre green for those last 3 heats - superb. #sweetcaroline

BBC South Today giving a decent preview of both meetings this evening!! They are usually pretty good at giving meeting reports but a mention, with video footage, before the meetings is a step in the right direction.

I believe the track reserves are now Smith and McGurk ie BV Colts riders Mountain and Hume in for Cook and Barker.

Hans and MPT both want to be back for Plymouth's meeting at Poole on the 10th!!

Surely the fact that the applications have been made by the actual construction company - Taylor Wimpey - is a positive signal?! Either the MP or GI must have put pressure on Taylor Wimpey to move things along....!

They'll be holding the British Final on a Monday Next!!!! Oh hang on......but those that miss it will probably see a stronger lineup (ex Bewley) at Poole on 24th!!

Yes. My point was more about it being 6-rider teams. I assume Poole will go without Ablitt which in theory makes them stronger with only the 2 Cook boys having no Sheffield track experience.

Both teams at full strength as long as all those in the British Final come through unscathed. Should be close at Sandy Lane.
