  1. The Speedway Star 2-page article this last week reckons that Odsal meets UK standards for League speedway but not FIM standards for a GP. League speedway needs a new Promoter with loads of volunteer helpers - and presumably a healthy bank balance. Steve Rees (the Bradford stocks promoter was at one time keen to take on the speedway as well) has sold his lease/license although the new people are interested in having speedway on a regular basis. The BSPL continue to be in regular discussions with them - according to the Star article?!
  2. Clearly only for private and personal consumption!!!
  3. Such a shame that its not the same choice of the many millions of others around the globe.
  4. I believe that to be 7 days of Royal mourning from the day of the state funeral.
  5. Yes but Uefa stated the announcement came too late to stop people attending so decided that tonight's games should carry on. The minutes silence at Old Trafford was impecably observed by the whole stadium.
  6. Can't be many speedway fans amongst the thousands congregating at Buckingham Palace or Balmoral or any of the other Royal residences then!
  7. Why will there be a shortage of riders with Poland reducing their block on riders and possibly a couple of tracks less?
  8. Well at least it stops him racing from November through February - oh hang on..........!!!
  9. A pause for silence as they've done in the Zurich v Arsenal match on TV.
  10. 4 months during Winter - Nov/Dec/Jan/Feb - Jeez.
  11. Nb tonight's meeting preview says that Howarth is missing tonight in the hope he is fully rested for Saturday.
  12. Same as Poole have just announced - Poole will run on off-race nights if necessary!!
  13. Don't forget the Birmingham meeting is also rearranged for Weds 14th!! Also Aarnio's season is over.
  14. I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that MPT's season was over!! Maybe on a Panthers thread?
  15. So for Poole as per usual 1-7 subject to no injuries from Thurs/Sat/Mon/Tuesday. For Plymouth I imagine Hans is back, subject to fitness and no Danish commitments. I see the Birmingham Challenge is also rescheduled to next Wednesday so potential guest options for the Gladiators still reduced,
  16. One or two short sharp showers since lunch but sun's out in between and there's a gusty wind. Track looks good.
  17. Is it an appeal? I thought he'd failed both a and b tests and was just awaiting the SCB ruling?
