  1. .....and breathe! Recent history (ie 20 years or so excluding the odd one or two) has seen Poole success leading to more success no matter what league they are in. Some if not all fans have come to expect it, just as with most clubs there are fans that want to see great, close racing and some that simply want their team to rack up 5-1s consistently! You can't please everyone all the time. Forums like this one allow fans of all types and clubs to give their opinions, however biased (or baited) they may appear to others - its what forums are for. As for the 'most hated' stuff, Poole fans know that and Middlo often publicly quotes it, because every team wants to beat us. Some do and recently most don't. That may well change in the future, but rest assured Poole will still be 'in it to win it', hated or otherwise. Should be an interesting Winter.
  2. In it to win it! is the Poole mantra. Always has been and always will. Most times it works, sometimes it doesn't - thats sport! You can only race whats put in front of you, whether its a full 1-7 or a few guests. COYP.
  3. woke up with flu-like symptoms it would seem. Maybe also affected his below-par scores for Sheffield?! Scotty scored 9 points for Oxford at both Leicester and Poole in their league fixtures.
  4. So the 2000 and the 600 are all full paying adults? I don't think so. Plus how much sponsorship and advertising revenue do Oxford get? You really need to get down to Poole and see a big crowd. And once again no disrespect to Oxford who have done a great job. Long may it continue.
  5. No disrespect intended, they've done exceptionally well, but I doubt that's accurate even from a financial/commercial point of view
  6. Crikey the Christmas Cracker jokes are out early this year!!
  7. In this week's Speedway Star, the Glasgow report states 'we are intent on putting together a strong side to beat Poole in the Championship in 2023'!! So I guess it'll mean major surgery of this season's 1-7!?
  8. Only minutes and I suspect that there have been showers throughout the morning. It's hammering down now and getting quite dark as storms move in.
  9. The 2.5% discount for British riders has to be applied apart from anything else for team building.
  10. We know what he's like. And you bite every time. It's quite funny really!!
  11. 'Disrespectful to the memory of the Queen'!!?? according to their statement. You couldn't make it up .......
  12. If Friday is off then Weds 26th will replace the 'luvly jubbly' meeting.
  13. I personally think its unrealistic to have a standard admission charge across each of the leagues. Every club has its own costs which can vary dramatically from one club to another. Similarly they have a reasonable idea of their likely attendance and any potential sponsorship so should set the admission prices to suit themselves.
  14. Give gourself a treat and check-out yesterday's interview on Piratecast it's on You-Tube.
  15. Not sure how Sheffield are going to cope next year with the extra fixtures of a 7-team league?
  16. No jockeying just simple planning and sensible discussion with which Leicester have agreed. The Lions clearly don't give a toss as they are going Prem in any case!! :-)
  17. Poland has lots of advantages like all their purpose-built Stadia being built and funded by national utility Companies and local/regional/state councils, giving teams and riders 100% free choice as to practice and race days.
  18. Whats it like to be deluded and in denial - all season!!! Such a shame.
  19. The whole league saw that with the Eddie situation.
  20. Confirmed that if Friday's 1st leg is rained off Leicester have agreed to Poole hosting 2nd leg on Weds 26th - currently held for Jubilee!! Ps first of this evenings rain showers has started with thunderstorms due a bit later..
