  1. This is British Speedway in a nutshell, a young, polite, loyal, improving rider who has probably had his best year ever, be high on confidence and thinking he's ticking all the right boxes and could well find himself out in the cold. To me, the team average should be high 40s if not low 50s, makes no difference if teams can't build to the maximum but would keep riders like Dan in a job and in the sport.
  2. I've always loved a printed magazine, always good to look back on if you save them. I'm not a fan of the new pages for the images, always makes them look really poor and soft. A lot of the reports I don't read anymore because we find out via social media on the same day. I do find some of the articles interesting tho the Dan Bewley 2 page interview wasn't particularly in depth or revealing in any way, which was disappointing
  3. Get your missus pregnant and have a lifetime of empty pockets for a few minutes of entertainment.... Speedway the winner bud!
  4. Doesn't seem to be that long ago that teams were being told that they could only have 1 gp rider per team. That shows how far the quality has dwindled.
  5. Petecc is correct in the fact that it has nothing to do with any of us, but given the fact that the club is losing/spending that amount of money is alarming to any fan surely? Makes you wonder where that amount of cash goes. I know there is rent, medical costs, rider wages etc but even so, that is a lump of cash to be getting through.
  6. That's what Nigel Tolley said it cost him in the SS awhile ago so I assume it to be true
  7. Needs to be tight after losing 250k last season
  8. Has had to become an expert at defending his position because he's painfully slow nowadays. Saw him at Peterborough a few times and it was sad to see him fall away so much
  9. I'm not getting the fascination with Holder tbh, was great a decade ago but with so much talent in the Polish leagues now maybe he fancies coming back for an easy payday like Crump and Schlein
  10. Lives in Cambridgeshire, has done for a little while, unless he's moved obviously
  11. And this is the strange thing, again I always found Garrity to be one of the nicest riders I ever knew and then he commits a hideous crime which contradicted the person I knew.
  12. Great post, have always found Ben to be a 100% racer and polite and friendly even when riding for the away team, and wonder why he's not one of the first signings, but then you hear some stories which never seems to match his character. Always seems really popular at every club he's ridden for but then nobody wants him! Strange.
  13. Maybe they both realised that they could make a decent living on an average where they will always get a place without trying too hard
  14. Morris is a good, solid signing and consistent at nearly all tracks. I'm not sure he's exciting enough to put extra bums on seats so Brum will need deep pockets again this season I feel
  15. Did he not go back to Oz for family reasons...
  16. Continuity is great if your teams doing well, not so great if the riders helped the team to the bottom of the league...
  17. Riders will commit to riding here. But only when the big paydays abroad dry up and they want easy money. Or if their testimonial money wasn't enough and come back for more.
  18. Looked brilliant until I got to Batchelor...
  19. Having heard some mind boggling figures (for speedway anyway) it always seemed to me like the riders demands easily outweighed the clubs income. Almost like the goose was happy to destroy the golden egg...
  20. So has Schlein taken a decent pay day for his farewell meetings and then come back for more? Riders jumping on the Swindon farewell bandwagon, getting a payout and then carrying on. Taking the pi55...
  21. Are Brum still after a thousand fans to break even?
