  1. Be good to see double headers again in late September early October
  2. If these pre-discussions are had every year then it needs to be changed because the sport seems to be going in the opposite direction to what the majority of fans are hoping for
  3. I'd like to think so but I'm not sure we can look that far ahead anymore.
  4. I think your right, BE could make the rent so ridiculously high that it does make sport there unviable, but hopefully, that would only happen if they manage to put the stadium back to how they found it on the night motorsports ended, and we all know that they won't do that
  5. Is it not possible that Morris was saying this just to add weight to the Coventry cause and putting speedway in a positive light, knowing that nobody can prove him right or wrong....?
  6. Sadly, the bigger picture to the BSPL will be that it was a classic season. Underdogs reach the final, a huge comeback by Sheffield that went down to the wire. Regardless of Lambert coming in for the final, they will see it that GP riders want to be involved in British Speedway. By bringing Birmingham in to replace Wolves gives the league credibility again in their eyes, despite Brummies not being there on any sort of merit but having spent the last 5yrs flirting with the wooden spoon and survival! But still the BSPL think everything is rosy in the garden....
  7. But I don't think it was a particularly poor performance, 9 points away against Doyle and Emil is about right. My take is that he was annoyed at the refs decision, and it was a poor one, and the track given that it's a showcase event. Maybe British Speedway is a long way behind in the way of track prep when we have adverse weather, something Poland have managed to sort out
  8. On Tuesday, Lambert was only being honest about the Refs decision and the state of the track, something that most posters on here were going on about. But because he said it, it's an issue! As for Woffinden, there is no need for that sort of language, just smacks of wanting to be in the limelight even tho he's injured. Sad really.
  9. Maybe Lambert expected too much of a showcase speedway final and was narked at poor refereeing and an absolute dogturd of a track. The exact reason he probably has no interest in doing a full season here and quite frankly, I don't blame him. As a neutral I agree with what he said and applaud his honesty, but British Speedway will never listen to riders and wonder why it's going down the pan.
  10. Have never seen so many pointless interviews. Abi would be better off helping Tatum get the riders names right....
  11. Your just edging your bets slightly but August was shocking!
  12. I say the same thing every year, get the league sorted out early so the play off final is over the last bank holiday in August. A chance of decent weather, big crowd, good for the telly, people go home happy looking forward to next year. But no. Every year is the same old farce dragging it out against the elements with riders and track prep looking amateurish at best and then calling it off at heat 10. Everyone goes home wet, cold, fed up. Riders race hard all year for the finale to be a non event with rubbish weather. Never learn.
  13. The 3g is an interesting one. My local football club invested heavily in a a pitch which generates a decent income (95 kwid for a quarter of the pitch) but clubs soon realised that it was non starter unless the weather was freezing, and then they cancelled training because the car park etc, was unsafe. Nearly all training takes place at local parks/pitches unless it's freezing because it's so much cheaper. Like everyone says, there's no spectators, just players. But it's certainly not the cash cow people think it is...
  14. You'll never know the truth. Does Bartosz need a bung? Doubtful. Would he risk a Championship knowing a ef could rob him in Torun? Doubtful. Would other riders be sympathetic of his own stupidity? Doubtful. The questions will be endless..
  15. Not sure the younger generation see it as cheating tho, more a way of life nowadays sadly
  16. People should be careful what they wish for, you couldn't ask for a better place than Cardiff, over the 20yrs there's been more excellent meetings than bad ones. BV is a great track but sadly lacks everything else that attracts people to Cardiff. Leave Cardiff and speedway for Britain takes a step backwards in my opinion.
  17. Wouldn't surprise me, the last time I looked the word 'Championship' was spelt wrong on the British Final trophy too...
  18. I reckon I'd pay good money to see the BSPA look at this equation and see who internally combusted first
  19. They probably don't but I don't think the powers that be would want to lose Cardiff to another Polish GP, so they want to get folks in and by having Woffy and Lambert back in British speedway it might just get a few more fans going to the GP and domestic meetings. I'm quite sure Woffy and Lambert don't need the extra income to come back so was wondering why they have?
  20. Anybody else think the low sales and poor event last year is the reason that Tai and Lambert have been coaxed back to British Speedway? To try and gain interest and enthusiasm amongst the British fans and get them to turn up? Let's face it, Lambert returning to KL makes zero sense in respect of reaching the play offs or financially.
  21. Whatever Bomber says isn't going to change anything in speedway. If the people in charge didn't want to listen to a World Champion in Woffinden and were happy to see him leave British speedway for Poland, they certainly won't care what Chris has to say!
  22. Be OK next year when Peterborough, KL and Wolves go belly up, the BSPA only have to get the remaining 4 clubs to race each other once home and away, no worries about the not fulfilling fixtures because their all guaranteed to be in the play-offs anyway.... Maybe the Grand Final could just be a 4 team tournament, winner takes all.
  23. Ridiculous decision. Never bunching. Doyle wiped him out
