Well done Richie. Can't teach stupid..
-
Just read his Facebook page, smacks of arrogance. T00L.

Well I can't see the BSPA helping out, most of the clubs are bordering skint and it's only the riders that seem to do OK out of the sport, so why not? If I was a rider I'd be happy to pay a small amount to prove I was clean and to know others were too
-
How about take a small percent out of riders earnings to cover the cost? If they can afford cocaine, I'm sure they can afford the test...
-
Absolutely
-
Tbh, is anybody actually surprised at the statement and the punishments? Boxhall has previous and in the eyes of the BSPA, just another rider. Worrall on the other hand is one of the better riders and a heat leader at most clubs, do we think the the lenient punishment has anything to do with losing a 'top' rider? Morris must be feeling very narked and hard done by with these punishments, tho his ban should have been a yardstick for Boxhall and Worrall.

All falling on deaf ears I'm afraid
-
It's just the fact that meetings are trying to be ran in October but nobody learns, nothing changes.
-
Sadly, the more the BSPA try to give the leagues and cup competitions credibility, the less it actually does...
-
For what benefit though?
-
Until people just stop going at this time of year, clubs will keep trying to run meetings and let folks travel/enter without a 2nd thought.
-
Too much time on your hands mate, but genius all the same!
-
Tbf, he knew about these issues before he took over.
-
I wonder if the BSPA are still busy going through that massive list of moto x riders they had signed up to try speedway a few years ago....??
-
If my memory serves me right, they gave the fans 2 farewell meetings too didn't they?
-
Well said

Start a bike up for 20 mins and see how quick a resident complains. All the stadium and pits building is just a tick box exercise. Sadly, the Abbey won't see speedway again and the BSPA will just hope everyone gives up and it disappears without a whimper. Have the BSPA ever come out to defend Brandon, Wolverhampton or Peterborough? They should be up in arms and have legal bods all over these venues to prove speedway has a following and a place in society. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recall seeing anything..
-
You definitely won't see me there, had my fill of all sorts of riders trying to make a fist of it in atrocious conditions just because it's a final over the years.
-
So start the meeting at 6.30pm when it's already cold and damp and then run another meeting afterwards..?? Sheer madness but speedway all over.

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
The Dog replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's October, why is anyone surprised at this scenario? Just maybe, if nobody turned up because they don't want to risk wasting time and money, you might get a season that ends at the end of August or mid September when you have half a chance of seeing riders race on a half decent track and without being sat at home, race rusty, for the last few weeks before going into a 'final'. It's not rocket science. -
I'm sure they do add some more bums on seats but sadly not enough to be able to invest anything back into a club, and when they leave, the clubs are back to square one again. The same happened years ago with the Sky money, pretty much everything went to the riders and nothing put aside for track prep, upgraded facilities or even the chance to own your own track. Sadly, promoters can't see further than the end of their nose whilst riders get daft deals that will ultimately be their own downfall when there's nobody left to ride for. It's just bad economics all round really.

Scunthorpe v Poole - 2023 KOC Final
The Dog replied to ScunnyDan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
A situation that will be swept under the carpet at the AGM, British Speedway at its finest -
I thought their was a site earmarked just the other side of the A1, and had been since the start of the season? Or did I imagine all this?
-
I'm quite surprised that Jason Garritys name hasn't been mentioned in this topic, always polite and friendly but never on the same planet as the rest
-
Wasn't Darcy Ward bladdered and replaced at a GP once? I know he was kicked out of the meeting but can't remember if there was further consequences tbh
