  1. Assuming all the photos will be from press days, will Curtis Sports be paying the relevant photographer for the images?
  2. It's a shame your not inspired Col, but who were you expecting given the limited options out there? I'm sure if you can put a better team together, then the promotion and Brummies fans are all ears.
  3. If it is Pearson, he could be a trump card at reserve but might be difficult in the main body of the team with new tracks to get used to as well. Let's see what LR comes up with.
  4. Really? Hadn't heard about this Flagrag. Blimey..
  5. Ahh cheers Lewi. Feel for Plymouth if Ellis had already agreed a deal tho
  6. So Plymouth are short of 2 riders now then?
  7. With rumours circling that Kennett has quit Plymouth, that's another space to fill in the quest to complete a team...
  8. But with a few gaps in the Polish league, the riders we can afford might just become attractive to the Poles because they certainly wouldn't want to be short of riders because its such big business over there.
  9. Might work the other way where the riders Birmingham are interested in might be in demand in Poland and have their head turned by the big bucks of the Polish league...
  10. They have a reputable person who has already put an offer on the table to buy Brandon but BE haven't responded/acknowledged it. They prefer to make people believe its not viable, forgetting that it had been viable since 1928 up until BE closed the gates...
  11. Must admit you don't see the words 'competence' and 'BSPA' in the same sentence too often but I think that they were very supportive of the Masons in helping them get through the season last year
  12. To be fair, you'd soon be moaning if they weren't advertising the Brummies in the run up to the season! I believe they will have advertisements in the local free booklets that always get popped through the door, a decent idea to get folks on the doorstep interested and hopefully to spread the word. Like I've said before, the BSPA would have pulled the plug if Birmingham couldn't get a team together..
  13. Maybe they just picked the teams in alphabetical order... Nothing would surprise me tbh
  14. I'd rather go with a couple of more experienced riders and maybe a youngster.. We'll see what happens over the next week.
  15. Maybe people don't want to pay with their cash until they really have to. Human nature.
  16. I'd imagine that the BSPA would want assurances that Birmingham can field a full team because of the issues it would cause if they couldn't, especially with the Brummies being the first on the streaming service at Berwick. Also, I'm sure Birmingham wouldn't continue to do track work, pit upgrades and a new airfence if there was any doubt about coming to the tapes.
  17. The way he spoke in the Speedway Star a few weeks ago was implying that it wasn't worth racing in this country anymore...
  18. It's a shame to be hijacking the Poole thread but I am confused regarding riders finances nowadays. Most riders claim that they don't earn enough and yet rock up with 3 new bikes every season and have no job during the winter. And then they hire a brand new van at x amount of pounds a month.. And yet young Flint reckons he can earn a decent living and he's only just starting out in relative terms to a lot of riders...
  19. Regarding the young Pole Paluch, I think rather than showing ambition, it would be a huge target on the promotions back for signing an untried and untested rider for the already disgruntled Brummies fans sadly...
  20. The Brummies must be confident of getting the riders they need because they have press and practice on the 23rd of March
  21. Just as a sidenote, a friend at work has just been home to Poland for 10 days and got a return flight for £9 in and out of Stansted, so if you have the time on your hands, a trip to see the top riders might be cheaper than commuting here...
  22. They have monitors to the side of the camera giving them information as well as an earpiece from the director plus trying to remember all the relevant action that's happened. It's quite involved and a lot different from commentating off camera. Rowey does a good job tbh.
  23. I don't think for a minute that there would be any ongoing track work happening if they didn't have enough riders to start the season or to not run at all....
  24. I've been to a darts event and the atmosphere is fantastic. The big plus is the fact that the conditions are always the same and the event won't get cancelled at the last minute...
