Newcastle vs Glasgow 8/5/22 4pm??

Reading some of the bile you put on here and other pages, all your doing is alienating yourself really. You just pick and prod at everything and anything to get a reaction, and people generally bite. I hope it makes you happy. Pot and kettle when you mention that you can't fathom why people have a pop when that's all you constantly do... I'm sure you'll be the first to say 'I told you so' when any club eventually closes. Tbh, a lot of what you put on here would probably turn off many potential fans rather than anything any promotion does, so feel free to step up and be a promotor rather than a criticism all the time.

There's also a lot of clubs that have disappeared without Laurence being involved which I think tells you something about the sport and the people who run it at the very top.

I think it would make a lot of people think twice including hard core fans.. Unfortunately Birmingham are only following the rules given to them from high above and probably dreaded make that announcement knowing how it would be received. I do think that not having a 2nd ambulance or medical car in attendance is an avoidable schoolboy error tho, and you could have 5 ambulances at the next meeting and find that folk have already decided with their feet. After the horse has bolted and all that. A real shame that Brum are getting bad press after putting in an enormous amount of effort into the track and new airfence and saving the club. Let's remember it was only a few months ago that this was still just a dream to come to the tapes...

24hrs on and I still can't get my head around the news, so surreal, someone I knew, larger than life and always had time for a chat whether that be on the phone or in person. We will all miss him and I can't imagine how his wife and kids must be feeling right now. Shock would be an understatement. RIP Nige, it was great to have known you pal

A friend of mine who usually takes 5 people to a meeting gave it a miss on Saturday because they were bored with the one-sidedness of the the previous meetings. She will now pick and choose which meetings to watch for entertainment and I'm sure there's a few more like this. Not Leicesters fault obviously but it does highlight the need for the league to be competitive to keep people interested -
Have a word with Nigel Pearson, bound to be involved somewhere along the line

Talking tripe.

If he had a couple of engine failures yesterday he might not just have the time to get them repaired for the day after.. Hardly picking up pocket money if he's not riding...

I think Saturday, tonight and Wednesday is all about track time because the key to a good season for Birmingham will be survival, a decent season at home and getting fans through the gate. Anything more will be a bonus

Leicester vs Birmingham 26/03/2022 KoC 1st Round 1st Leg

They could but its hardly the same as some sort of competitive racing. Speedway flirt with being 'professional' by streaming etc and yet seem happy to miss this basic thing. -

Given that Birmingham riders had only done a few laps on press day since the end of last season, it was always going to be one-sided against a Leicester team that have been together for a couple of seasons and at home. I think one area where speedway can improve is by having a few friendly meetings if possible and maybe a couple of 5 minutes practice laps before a meeting. Be good for bike set up and for the riders to loosen up. I've never understood how riders are expected to get out of the van, get changed and race seriously without any sort of practice, especially after being off a bike for months. You wouldn't expect Moto GP riders to just turn up on race day and race nor would you expect Liverpool to do their press shots and then play Man City the day after. -
At the end of the day, the photographer should be paid for their time and effort in producing images or at the very least the courtesy of being asked. People will make money from the images so the photographer should be paid.

Don't go then. Its not compulsory. -
And its nobody's business apart from Adams. Birmingham fans should be thankful they have had someone come in and keep them running let alone have the British Champion in the team. You have a new promotion putting money in, a new track, a new airfence, the British Champion and an exciting prospect to watch and some people are moaning about which race jacket riders wore for photos! Unbelievable.

I think it's the timing of it for me UK Martin... helps nobody let alone 'protecting' clubs in the future
-
This stance by the BSPL seems very harsh on Birmingham if true, given that they had a takeover to sort out before they could even think about signing riders. And when did this ruling appear and come into force? It would have made sense years ago but not when there's an obvious shortage of riders like there is at the minute
-
If true, I'm not sure how blocking riders for a team place just because they can't fulfil all the matches protects a club like Birmingham who could potentially go into their first meeting on Saturday with only 6 signed riders...?
-
Press day tomorrow so you'd like to think all 7 would be there. Can't ever remember that not happening before
-
Only in speedway could a team like Leicester name their riding order before Brummies have even named their team...
-
I think everyone is going off on a tangent regarding Vissing as I don't think any of the Brummies hierarchy have said that he will miss any meetings. All surmising atm.
-
The image belongs to the photographer not the rider and I'd be very surprised if any track photographer has been asked tbh
-
Be good to have the play offs in decent weather rather than a cold damp night in October or November..
-
Don't see anything wrong with it tbh. Most clubs have a main sponsor so why and try mock everything they do?
