I don’t think it was the track that was the only reason we won tonight. We were making gates for the first time this season pretty consistently (which we haven’t this season at all ) and we were more aggressive on track. All our team contributed on the same night for the first time. Peterborough even had to use the T/S at home which many Peterborough fans said last Thursday shouldn’t be allowed !!! Was the track relaid for this meeting or is it the usual material they’ve used all season ? Personally I think last nights performance from the home team was a one off and they just expected to win. They will be back on it Thursday

Sheffield Tigers v Peterborough Panthers - Thursday

Absolutely brilliant ride from Bomber in heat 13. Track looked slick. Ellis and Pickering both used outside line and went backwards. Looked like Bomber was on his long track bike !! Peterborough are the best team in the league and proved it tonight. Bachelor once again waste of space. 4 ex GP riders in the away team all older than him and showed him how to ride. Expect Peterborough to pick us for the easy passage into final I was hoping we would take mountain at beginning of the season instead of family member Bates. Oh well roll on next season -

I’d like to think so. After the form he’s shown this season I think he owes us and himself some good performances over the next few weeks -

If the old bachelor turns up we’ve a chance of winning if the recent one turns up I can only see a defeat I would love him to turn his and our season round -

King's Lynn v Sheffield 09/09/21

Anyway back to the meeting. Sheffield managed a draw after dominating the meeting from the start. Josh Pickering was excellent value. Falls for Ellis and Howarth proving costly late on. Thanks to jack Thomas for stepping in He was on the pace but blew his engine at the start of his 3 rd ride. The injury to Nielsen has killed our chances in the play offs now we are vulnerable at reserve and trying to cover for the under par bachelor. Decent meeting but one we should have won -

Does anybody know the protocol for entrance tickets tonight ? Do we just produce the ticket from the rain off meeting or do we need to refresh them at the office ? -

Not negative Nielsen has been very strong at reserve since signing. If Jack scores aswell as Nielsen I will be well happy. Good luck to the lad -

Jack thomas for Sheffield at reserve for Nielsen definately weakens us -
Yes fair point and there will be more to follow unfortunately. But they were slick tracks and boring to watch racing at was the point I was trying to make not that the slick track caused the closure. Crowds are down because of boring racing / stupid rules and rain offs when not necessary as our meeting at kings Lynn was the other week after extensive track work. The riders are not helping themselves and will moan when there’s less tracks and less income !!!
-
If that’s your opinion mate no problem as you go every week to belle vue so don’t doubt what you say but several of your fans have been moaning about the track over recent weeks so it looks like it’s not for everyone!!! Heat 14 josh Pickering tried every line inside and outside but couldn’t pass what would you put that down to slick track skill set up ? Don’t know but earlier he stuck it out wide and blew everyone away Awesome effort for little reward
-
Assume what you like. Fact is the 3 tracks I’ve quoted were slick tracks and are no more. People want to see good racing. The tracks are outdated compared to the bikes. That’s why speedways on the decline as I’ve said before. If you think different that’s fine. Belle vue is purpose built for current bikes so prepare it right. If you look back recently on this forum the local fans haven’t been happy with it been slick so it’s not just my observation. Obviously you know better than them. You don’t even attend your own home meetings!!!!
-
If people like slick tracks that’s fine by me. Each to their own. Slick tracks have been poor race tracks over the years. Arena Essex Reading Wimbledon to name a few. Poor racing closed down never to return. Belle vue is a top circuit with grip from the start do you not think you would get a better meeting ? Well done Dan Bewley good nights work by the way.

Someone in the know on here says no more signings possible!!!

I would think his season will be over

Sheffield won’t win play offs because of 2 things. Injury to Nielsen and Bachelor isn’t bothered He couldn’t put much less effort in on track to be honest. He keeps backing off at first bend !!! I don’t understand how he can beat the same riders in the championship yet not in the premiership.
-
I think Sheffield have the biggest claim towards Adam’s success at the British champs as we are his current premiership club. He’s been here all season not rode at Swindon for 2 years (Hopefully they will be back) and he’s done a few meetings at 2 nd division Scunthorpe where his average is not very high for a rider of his status so obviously uses them for a bit of spending money.
