morris bates and sergeant !!! would that fit with averages .?

Great post Richard and I feel if you had posted jakes problems when they occurred he would have got a lot more sympathy than the flack he got.Its so hard for british youngsters to make the grade unless they get loads of cash thrown their way.Some supporters don't realise that the young lads bills are often met by parents when they haven't got many sponsors so they cant compete on a level playing field.What made it worse was the make up of our team.Jake really needed to at least make his average and more.Had he been in a stronger team he would have time to develop.I hope our new owners take a leaf out of your book and explain problems to the fans and not just fob us off with poor press releases from the last few years.They will get more respect and most supporters will accept it.Good look to jake in the future and let him improve at his own pace.

Hally has had some fantastic races round Sheffield over the past decade,some of them awesome but we need a fresh start.His away performances can be woeful and as a heat leader he is expected to score well but on most occasions his scores are not that of an heatleader.Add that to missing meetings for longtrack and the mystery injury he sustained later on in the season to miss the rye house meeting away tells you why we should not include him.If he goes to peterboro good luck to him and he may score well on his return but he wont improve his away average.He has nothing to prove to Sheffield supporters who only see him ride at home.

If we can get morris and north or morris and lanham that would give us a strong top 4 add Compton to that and injury permitting we could be there or there abouts at the seasons end. come on hoggy do us proud after the dross weve had recently.

I think Morris would be a top signing but don't go down the hally route,he had plenty of chances and not going to get any better.North would be a better option for me.

Great news now lets get the team finalised.I suppose they will announce who it is in the star on Thursday !!! Be good to see Ricky get a testimonial but it will probably have to be later in the season as we need to raise cash for the air fence first.Any news on lou charlesworth after his accident?

Not surprised bjerre gone to Peterboro if we don't get the club sorted soon we going to lose out on more riders.Lets hope we can get nick morris in at least we would have a decent top 3.I hope the management rethink doesn't include any of the usual dead wood.

Nick morris along with Steady and Roynon will do for me.Could do with Compton at reserve in any permutation though.Trouble is its a numbers game.Most teams going with good top 3 so hope we don't get left behind.

That's not always the case.For me as a Sheffield supporter I want to see 7 Sheffield riders week in week out unless injured.When a rider signs a contract he should honour it.If he wants to do long track,grass track or ride elsewhere that's up to him,but Sheffield should be priority.Hes guaranteed 30 plus meetings with us,how many long track do they do.Too many riders take English clubs for granted.

Could really do with take over being completed a.s.a.p. but cant see it.Good and half decent riders are being swallowed up so less choice for us.Mark Lemon and Dak north could do a job.After 2 top signings I hope its not going to be big let down.Pepe needs to be more committed if he joins us.No good if hes missing meetings.

Cant see karlsson being an option ,he only rides Sheffield well when its slick which is a problem when steady and roynon like it deep.I think peterboro will join our league and take bjerre and north so I would think theres more chance of birks or Jorgensen joining us.Ostergaard may be useful though.Compton/albin or Compton /koppe combination is a must for me at reserve.

Sounds good to me.Lets hope the rest of the side captures the same excitement as the first two..The track needs to be better than the last couple of years,lets get it grippy on a consistant basis..

Great start to team building would like Compton and albin /koppe at reserve,Compton would compliment either with his experience.The rest needs freshening up.I would like to Bjerre in the line up then see what points are left for the other 2.

Is lasse Bjerre doing premier league next season ? He would do a sound job,

Bit disappointed weve missed Lawson and allen.The top guys are getting fixed up and I fear we will miss out again.Somerset top 3 look good and so do Workington,oh well we will get what we get.Fingers crossed we will be competitive.

Lets hope the first signing isn't Jacobsson,Hall or sanchez.After the last 2 years we need some decent riders in our team that can ride home and away.Workington and Rye look to have attractive teams,lets hope we can.I am a bit confused and worried that neil wants out yet he has told Hoggy to sort the team !!!!!!!! It doesn't fill me with much excitement if Hoggy is picking the team after the last 2 years.

Yes.He would be good back for steady presuming we get sorted shortly.!!!!!! Who knows ?

Machin has got some rider assets but cant be worth much.Hoggys commented in todays star weve got riders asking to ride for us !!!!!!! We heard that last year and look what we got.I think whoever takes over has got to take over a.s.a.p. get the riders sorted and a new manager with good experience.The longer it goes on we will finish up with the leftover riders nobody wants.I cant see steady,lawson and allen waiting around till we get sorted.Workington managed to get sorted last year and put a solid team together lets hope we can follow suit.

Who ever takes over has to have a clear out.Weve too many riders who cant score away.When you look at the top 6 sides they are entertaining away and worth following.Weve gone back to the dark days with away performances and some at home this year too.For me Wells is the type of rider we need.Similar average home and away.You don't win leagues with riders who can only score heavy at home with exception to the Exeter team of the past.Lets hope we get the new owner in before all the best riders get picked up.

Not an inspired choice of guest but par for the corse..Hope we can end the season with a win.Lets then hope the take over is done quickly so we can move on and get a team challenging for honours again.We don't want it dragging on throughout the winter and finishing up with riders nobody else wants.

I think this decision by mr machin has been coming for a while now.He has done a great job keeping speedway at Sheffield for so long but you can see what his opinions are and you cant really argue with him.The sky money has gone to a few promotors and not been shared around the clubs.The rules are a joke and are changed to suit the same teams who manipulate them to suit their needs.How can the sport be taken seriously ? I know we all come on here and have a moan but some of the team selections for the last couple of years have been poor.Good luck to neil on selling it to the right person who has ambition and provides us with a successful team next season and thanks for saving the club and giving us some great nights of racing at owlerton over the last 20 years.

Good luck to the lad hope he gets amongst the point but the idea of looking to next season is to learn from this season with assessed averages needing 4 home 4 away to get an average !!!!!!!! We needed to sort changes before somerset away.Hope hes a success because we need something to pick the season up.

Cant see you having much trouble weve only got 3 riders !!!!!!!! Its Tuesday and no announcement on guests for our Sheffield select as yet.Expect another home defeat ,probably by 10 points.

Though having some sympathy with the Sheffield management over injuries it galls me to see other clubs show ambition and get replacements.Every week in speedway star riders are crying out for extra rides.Skornicki and Hougaard spring to mind but we are happy with our select side week in week out.It gets harder and harder each week to drag myself down to owlerton.Fantastic ride from greenwood,but fac and Compton down on power.Lawson got passed same in heat 15 as he did in 13 so should have expected the same move and covered it.Poor result as expected but not too bad a meeting.Cant understand why we heavily watered the track knowing rain was tipped !!!! Didn't help our poor gaters early on.One last point,Where was the referee looking at the start of heat 3 ?even klindt was embarrassed.She was consistently crap all night.
