Brilliant result didn't expect that with 2 heat leaders out.Well done lads .Good guest in Bomber after we struggled to get a replacement for Josh.Great team effort again. -

Great performance from the Tigers a professional job well done.Weve now put pressure on the other play off teams so it will be interesting who will finish top.The 4 points Glasgow were awarded are keeping them top at the moment.Just hope we can keep injury free for the rest of the season. -

Tough meeting for the Tigers with Berwick strengthening their team.We need to win to keep the pressure on teams around us in the play offs so nothing less than a win as others have already won there.Expecting a tough meeting. -
Looks like some people are hard to please !!! I will take the racing weve been producing for the last few weeks over what they are serving up at Newcastle. The Howarth Lambert races were great races between two riders giving their all and leaving enough racing room. From what ive seen of the Newcastle track it would be hard pressed to provide racing of that quality, but as I don't go to Newcastle every week I cant really comment. All we seem to hear from up there is moaning about the state of the track from numerous riders.Any way great win for the Tigers and you can only beat whats in front of you.A team with 2 world cup riders and little else were put to the sword.Good all round team performance last night and lets hope we can beat an improved and strengthened Berwick side tomorrow..

Think its obvious that there will be a price increase when your getting twice the amount of races.Im not a big lover of double headers but it looks like needs must.Cant understand why we have not tried to get fixtures arranged for off race days Sunday Monday Wednesday !!!!! Hope the double header is not rained off.

Good win for the Tigers but we need to get more from Branford if we get to the play offs.We need to get something at Ipswich and Peterboro to keep the momentum going. -

Difficult away meeting for the tigers.Which Tigers team will turn up ? the ones who are looking to get in the play offs or the ones who didn't turn up at Glasgow.Good luck for tonight lets hope we can at least get a point. -
I think the main reason for the delay is all this ridiculous doubling and tripling up of the riders,Its not just a case of club v club fixtures its nigh on impossible to field the same 7 riders for the current fixture list then when nearly everybody has got 4-5 riders riding for other clubs and their rearranged matches its an absolute nightmare to rearrange.Add to the fact limited track availability and more rain ???? The doubling up should have been capped as its now got out of hand,It will be interesting how many fixtures have had both teams fielding their regular 7 when the season ends.

Josh G is looking awesome round Sheffield .He s definitely got dialled in.Good result last night decent meeting.Abetter performance than sundays .Is there any news on James Shanes ? -
Dissapointing result today too many poor rides.Branford needs to be more consistant as hes suppose to be the trump card.Hopefully Shanes will add a bit of extra fire power.Hope this result wont be too damaging at the end of the season.Losing today puts more pressure on winning away at harder venues. Our away form could cost us in the long run.Lets hope scunny can turn over a few of our rivals in the B fixtures.Plenty more fixtures to come but improvement is needed and more consistency.Just hope all this stupid doubling up wont come back to bite us at the business end of the season when all the riders are fatigued !!!!!.

Sheffield V Redcar 11.05.17

Good performance from the tigers,Heard Jack had dislocated his shoulder so hopefully he wont be out too long.Racing wasn't too bad last night on a very dry track that in my opinion should have been watered a lot earlier.Kyle could have beaten garritty if he had not left him loads of racing room on the pit corner.Todd made a mess of bend 3 when Barker came under him.No contact from what I saw.Bates pass on Barker was good.We need to get some momentum away now. -
Lets hope josh is fit for Thursday we need everybody on top form once again or we will be continuing our poor run of form in the cup.Is Steve Worrall available to guest Friday for josh g ?

Workington Vs Sheffield 08/01/17
Charlieboy replied to Midget's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Once Lasse was ruled out I think we knew it would be backs to the wall. Two of our top riders injured all ready in the first month of the season and neither were riding for us at the time.As a team sport it is becoming even more of a joke sport.Injuries are inevitable but every week its somebodys select v somebodys all stars.I think this will be our downfall this season with nearly all doubling up.Well done Workington but it would have been closer had Lasse been available. -
Sheffield V Berwick 6/4/17 Sgbc
Charlieboy replied to allthegearbutnaeidea's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Good all round team performance but I cant see Berwick been at the top end come the end of the season. It will be a tougher test next week.Hope Lasse will be fit and Rob will be available. -
Ipswich Vs Sheffield Sgbc 25/03/17 7.30pm
Charlieboy replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Hopefully it will be a good time for us to go to Ipswich after track alterations and newman out.Think it will be close though between two good sides.Anybody know why Josh g didn't ride last night at Poole ? Good luck to the Tigers and hope theres no injuries this season. -
Great gesture from Damien bates I hope it works for him and we can get a few new fans. The days of putting posters up etc is old fashioned and the promotors have got to move with the time.Social media has got to be the way forward .Offers of 2 meetings for £20 in school holidays with kids free or something in that direction.Use groupon and such like to promote offers.Ideal world would be to get the G.P.Promotors involved to drag league racing into a new era.New fans don't want the meetings dragging on all night so the promotors and refs should work together to keep it rolling. Some refs make an effort but not all.The fans also need a complete fixture list not the occasional week with out a meeting. Its easy for people to get out of the habit of going when theres other attractions as we have in Sheffield .
-
The other day Steady said we would be having a few practices before the first meeting so hopefully we will be ready.Cant see Ipswich getting fully up to speed after a couple of practices and having too much advantage I think they will be better prepared after a few proper race meetings.Practicing and racing is completely different. We ve been to new tracks before for first meetings and had some wins and good performances and with this years side I think we can make a good account of ourselves.Lets hope we get off to a good start and stay injury free.
-
Could be a good time to go to Ipswich with there track been altered.Hopefully they wont have too much advantage and we can get off to a good start.Should be a good test for both teams as they are both fancied to be in the mix.
-
Looks a decent side on paper. If Branford can get off to a good start and either Bates or Kurtz are struggling a few meetings at reserve could keep us solid at the bottom end of the team. Its a long time since we have had a reserve who might be capable of getting into the main body of the team .Hopefully nobody will struggle and we can have some success but with all the doubling up and down ,guests and injuries who knows Id just like to see the same 7 riders each week winning and entertaining us.Good luck to the team for next season and lets hope we can win a trophy or two.
-
Glad to see steady as manager think it should be a good move.At least he can pass on plenty of knowledge to the rest of the team having ridden the lay down engines and knowing what set ups work etc.He should have a more up to date knowledge than mr Boocock.
-
Klindt would be ok but relies too much on gate,if he did come then could be good choice if he gates consistently.I think Kurtz with drillerman connection could be the last signing. My big concern next season is we could have all our side doubling up/down !!!!! Big risk. After all the stick we took in the play offs then we should get ready for a load more. With the new leagues structure are we going to see more and more guests ?
-
Happy retirement to Steady legend at Sheffield.Seen him at Sheffield from his first meeting for us and always been a favourite.Hope hes going to take on an active roll as manager or coach when training track takes off.Great signing getting Josh from Somerset as I hoped in a previous post, and was told we had no chance from one of their supporters ????? The team is taking great shape now.If Branford is the next one then id like the 7th rider to be Todd Kurtz, hes one of the drillermen I think and goes well at several tracks and is due a good season,
-
Good start to our team building lets hope we can get the balance right this year and stay injury free.I would like to see us get Josh from Somerset to be our no.1 and keep Kyle. That should be a good top 3.Then Jack at reserve seems to be nailed on,then see what weve got left to play with.
