June 1st tomorrow and we've had 2 league fixtures at home at Sheffield.The total imbalance of fixtures is a joke.Teams who have rode the most fixtures are able to use the new averages to their advantage to swap riders.( good luck to them) The premier league fixtures have been more even .The one home one away has killed my interest this season through lack of continuity along with many other supporters.Speedway fans are creatures of habit and this new idea could be another nail in the speedway coffin.I think the championship has been sacrificed to save the premier league.Does anyone else feel the same ?

Don't think he has.Is Jans agreement up this week ? If it is what about getting Josh G back on his new average for Lasse and a new young Dane/Swede.We need to act now before it's too late.

Yes and the more teams who come to owlerton and get points means that we have to make those up in our away meetings. We will not get enough points by just getting 3 points for home wins and it's hard to see where we willwin away with the current team.Bates needs replacing with a better standard rider than Jan but who do we go for? Do we try a Dane or a Swede ? if we do it extends our asset base !

Peterborough took 2 points for the draw and Workington got a point last night and this present team are going to struggle to pull them back plus we got more favoured teams to come to us so we can't afford any more gifts at home

Good recovery last night to take the win. Feared the worst early on when Charles looked to be going backwards and Kyle and lasse were struggling.Good performance from Workington as I suspected but that's 3 points we've lost at home which we now need to pick up away..Can't see that happening with the current team we need to make a change sooner rather than later..

I think Bewley is the next big talent and I was hoping we could get him in the winter.Some of his races this season have been awesome.When he first rode against Sheffield you could see the lads got talent hope he doesn't do too well tonight or we could get beat .

Even though it's still early in the season I think if we do drop anymore points at home it could affect crowd levels .A lot of supporters are moaning about the lack of fixtures and the stop start season we are having makes it worse. Losing at home will see some supporters getting out of the habit of regular speedway.Its really important we start and put a winning run together sooner rather than later .

Hopefully we will get our first win but Workington have done well away previously so can't be taken lightly.We need to be more consistent and get our season going before it's too late.I see Wilson dean has gone to Peterborough so we won't be getting him in after Jans 28 days are up so if we can't get him up to speed soon we are going to be no where near the top 4 !!!!!

Looks like it's not going to be our season.Josh bates should have been replaced earlier with Wilson dean.With only half the matches we had last season we are not going to have enough matches to catch up I feel even though the season is still in its early stages.Berwick are not one of the fancied teams but to not even get close doesn't bode well for the future.Well done to them tonight.

Well deserved draw for Peterborough taking advantage of our shortcomings.our promotion have got most things right since they took over but I think the bates problem should have been sorted at the beginning of the season.They expected 3 new riders to cover r/r ,not ideal,that gave them added pressure.now we've brought Jan back and he looked way off the pace understandably if he's hardly rode.Then we've got kyles injury.As we have got access to the Leicester track why not get Kyle and Jan having a spin in the week .I think as captain Kyle should have accepted he wasn't fit and we could have had a guest.Now we've dropped points at home we need an extra away win which won't be easy.Well done to Charles ,lasse,James and Todd for keeping us in the meeting.I fear the worst tonight as Glasgow with guest riders at a minimum.

Could be a tough meeting a few of our riders have been riding this week and struggling. Hope lasse has sorted his machinery out or we could struggle tonight. Good luck to Jan on his return.

Jan did a brilliant job for us last season at reserve and to be fair he was beating more than the opposition reserves.I think Steady needs to get into his head and convince him that riding at reserve only gives him heat 2 as an easy ride.Jan was coming into races against heat leaders and 2nd strings and gating on them and beating them numerous times.Get his head right and we will benefit from it .

Well done Newcastle caught us on a bad day. R/R was never going to be covered sufficiently from day one. Josh Bates can be a decent scorer both home and away.We need to address it before Thursday if possible or we may get exploited.Hope Lasse gets his equipment sorted sooner rather than later.

Cheers for that. I know Peterborough and Ipswich have had guests for for non number ones when injured so wondered why we've not had guests.Think we should have got a temporary replacement as we are losing out on Bates points at the moment.

Well done to all the riders for getting on with the meeting which can't have been easy with poor visibility and a wet track which dried out quite well late on.Proctor kept the meeting closer than if Kus would have road.Nice to see our reserves amongst the points and Charles Wright gets more entertaining week by week. Very good signing. Well done Kyle for taking no rubbish off Barker.Does anyone know why we don't get guests to cover for Bates ??

Let's hope the weather is ok because we need to be getting into some rhythm .looks like we've not got a short term replacement for josh. Wilson dean now gone to Workington so not sure who else is available. We need a bit more consistency from our reserves to back up the top 4.

How many points have we got to play with ? Does Dimi Berge fit ? Lightening quick round Sheffield? Wilson dean ? Has he gone to Workington to cover Campton ? Personally I think we should have got someone in from the start so it didn’t add pressure to the reserves.

Not my first choice either but I was thinking about the options we left with if we don't get Kyle,very limited I think,

IF Sheffield sign Howarth surely the loan fee comes with him? If he signs for Sheffield before march he wont have rode for Wolves and will then be our asset so I cant see how Workington can get a loan fee for someone they don't own? I would expect that deal to be annulled.That would be my logic but as it is speedway you could be right..Think might be Todd Kurtz tomorrow 6th signing.

If we going to get messed about by Workington can we go down the Scott Nicholls route ? Or do we buy Kyle and get a loan fee from Wolves to offset transfer fee ? Hope we don't leave it hanging in the balance and lose out on a number 0ne.

If we go top heavy what about Brady Kurtz Kyle and Lasse top 3 ?

Glad to see Lasse back hope he can push his average up a bit more.Hope to see Kyle back and probably Charles wright.Would still like to see a number one in the side.

Not surprised Vaculik gone to Leicester I expected him coming to Sheffield had we gone up with his Simon Stead connections.Good luck to him hes a very good rider.

Its a shame the season has ended like it has after our most successful season for 15 years.We were told that the ambulance had been ordered as usual but they had forgot to send it.!!!!! Not the fault of the promotion.The delays were caused by Todd having to be checked over before he could withdraw.Not the promotors fault,its a speedway rule.The air fence damaged by Paul Starke.Not the promotors fault.R/R used by both teams,riders having 2 on the trot,not the promotors fault.Having the fireworks earlier during the delay sounds a good idea.Promotors could have sorted that.Half price entry to the first team meeting next season was announced last night which I think the promotors didn't have to offer.Speedway needs a big overhaul this winter as every speedway fan knows.In the 4 years our promotors have been in charge we have improved each season,now we are Champions and Pairs Champions.We may have won the cup without injuries.Our promotors arnt perfect but they work hard for the club which we support.Some people on this forum must live in a perfect world with no hassles.There were plenty of supporters in the bar for the celebrations which the riders appreciated.The people who missed it through their choice are entitled to their opinion and if your not happy with the way Sheffield speedway is run then simply don't support the current promotion.Enjoy your perfect lives.

So who is classed as the conference reserve Lambert or Serjeant. Have Redcar officially named their team ? How come Howarth was named in our team and now hes not ? I think this leaves us a lot weaker with Proctor in.Hope we don't underestimate Redcar tonight.
