I can understand his frustration when his team mates aren't putting ,more effort in.He shouldn't have to be having a TS ride at home and then HAVE to win heat 15 to win the meeting every week.Occasionally yes every week no.Its suppose to be a team sport and the rest are letting him down.I can see changes soon as our promotors will not be wanting another short season. -

Watching the interview with Danny King he's not happy having to win heat 15 every week to save the meeting . -

We got out of jail again today .Ok we won but we are not winning enough races and running too many lasts. On paper the side looks balanced and most people were tipping us to romp the league but our main downfall is we can't gate and the track hasn't been conducive for passing. We can't blame the track today but it looks like a lack of confidence running through the team.Kasper has been a big let down, after last seasons away scores I expected him to kick on but he's gone backwards.Drew seems to shut off when people pass him and lacks the aggression that will come with experience.Ty always looked fast when he's rode against us but doesn't seem the same rider.Zaine had an off day but the ref got heat 2 decision wrong,Bowtell should have shut off if he'd got no room as Dave Peat once said to me the throttle works both ways !!!Brocs heat 14 was quality and shows what he can do.Danny was excellent again under pressure ant Thanks to Todd for stepping in and getting the crucial point. All in all we not good enough and either need to step up sharpish or the season ends again too early.5 wins out of 13 is very poor after all the promotion have done to promote the team this season. This set of riders owe the promotion and fans a lot more than their giving at present.Changes can't be far away but with Sunday racing it might be a big problem and limit choice . -

Another potential difficult meeting for us.Its time every rider stepped their game up because the season will soon be over.Only the league to go for now so if we don't start to turn our fortunes round I can see crowds dropping off.Hopefully Kyle is fit hope he doesn't attempt one ride then pull out if he's not 100% we can't afford to carry anyone. -

It will be interesting to see if our riding order switch will strengthen or weaken us tonight. Kasper s been struggling so to pair him with a reserve is strange !! -
Sheffield v Berwick 19/5/19

After the bad start today I think we did well to recover. We had to overcome the bad luck early but managed to turn it round .Heaps was a good guest for Ty and probably scored more than Ty but Greaves scored less than Zaine probably would have.We still need to get consistency throughout the team and need to get Kasper firing.Well done to to our lads for the recovery but well done Berwick on their deserved point. -

Drew and Zaine are always the ones to watch for me.Just wish the others would put the same effort in.Hopefully we can get a confidence boosting win with all 7 chipping in on the same day. -
I'm hoping they can turn their form round as they are all good riders but it's not happening consistently at the moment.Patience will wear thin though if they don't especially after last season .
-
Exactly. We pay to watch racing on a track that has been renowned for racing not gaters paradise. My opinion though I'm no track expert is it appears to be slick. We use to have a deep track and teams struggled against us now it appears slick and we have no advantage.Id be interested to know how the riders feel. This is not having a go at the track staff but do we need more shale on the track ? Is it the bikes ? Is it the riders ? I don't have the answer but it needs sorting or the crowds will soon drop off?

Bewley was just a name Ive thrown out there.Kemp and Kennedy are the bright lights so far ,the other 5 can do better than they are at the moment.I don't think this promotion will remain patient for much longer after last season and the hard work they put in through the winter.
-
Bewley was just a name off top of my head,it's just frustrating having a good team on paper but not on track. The way it's going we are heading for an early season.finish again .Weve got 7 racers but no gaters and as the track is we need gaters.
-
Well after today's meeting does anybody think changes are imminent ? Out of the shield and more or less out of the cup.Only the league to go for.I feel we have a team of racers and a track that suits gaters. One race win each for the heat leaders is nowhere near good enough. We are not clicking as a team and after last season we can't afford to finish bottom again. The promotors have done a great job but it's not happening on track. To make changes we have to obviously drop someone and with it being a numbers game we've got to drop sufficient points to make a decent change. To get someone like Dan Bewley in we may have to look at letting Ty go but it's probably Kasper who isn't doing as expected. Its a bit of a conundrum but unless we get an improvement all round the season will be over early again. This is not singling out Kasper as all the team should be doing better than they are.Any thoughts ??

Didn't he pal up with Reg Wilson and buy him a bike?

Sheffield Vs Birmingham Championship 05/05/2019
Charlieboy replied to TigerAl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I have ,obviously because the previous post says the car park will be needed for the Swfc v Stoke game and Swfc are at home to Qpr while the blades are at Stoke .Hope that clears that up for you.I think tiger blade is obviously still overly excited with their promotion and got confused . -

SWFC v QPR . Think you will find blades at Stoke !!!!! -
My post was not a slating just an observation and opinion. The promotors have done a great job since taking over and have done a good job in the winter promoting the sport but if the riders don't get a race track then the support will drop off with gate and go speedway. The track staff work very hard each week and are up against it preparing a track for Sunday afternoon racing no matter what the weather. After watching speedway for nearly 60 years I've seen enough Sunday speedway to appreciate how difficult track prep is but I think an announcement could have been made during rider interviews.Just a thought !!!!!!

Hopefully in this meeting all the Tigers can click at the same time and get the season on track .Hope we can have a decent race track this week too. -
Once it was announced that we were going to Sunday racing I said on here that track prep was going to be a big issue and it's proving already. I've heard a lot of people moaning and saying they won't be coming for much longer if it doesn't change,so all the hard work the promotion have done will have been for nothing. We used to have rakes and hose pipes as well as the tractors and we had a good race track.Once the meeting started yesterday I didn't see any water put down on the track. The tractors only did mid to outside lines yesterday never touching the inside ? I don't understand why but I'm no track expert. At the gp all the track is graded,I know they have 4 tractors but it used to be done with 2 previously.Weve got an exciting racing team but not a track suitable for them. If we don't address this problem soon we won't have any speedway so I hope our promotion can sort this out a s a p.

Sheffield Vs Leicester CS 21st April
Charlieboy replied to TigerAl's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Deserved win for Leicester could have been worse if Douglas had rode .My worry of moving to Sunday has always been track prep and today was a bit of a dust bowl.We would have been better signing 7 gaters.Drew did well today and Zaine is a top find but Kyle Bickley didn't get the points Broc would possibly get .Early days but we are nowhere near favourites for the league. -

It will be interesting to see how Bickley goes today hope he's on the pace.Douglas out for Leicester could weaken them a lot as he's handy round sheffield .Hoping for a decent sheffield win ? -

My thoughts exactly. Fear the worst tonight. Hope I'm wrong. -
Well done Scunthorpe deserved win.Kyle and Zaine put lots of effort in but we fell well short. Our doubling up riders are getting plenty of laps in but don't seem to be up to speed against riders only riding for one team. Our gating is poor and you can't afford to be giving riders a head start.I don't understand why we had no gating practice at press and practice when it's the most important part of the race at many tracks? I hope all the hype as favourites is not affecting the lads because we have to do more than just turn up.Kasper seems to be down on confidence and power and not getting points with Kings Lynn won't be helping him.Disapointed with yesterday's performance but heat 15 was a cracker.Zaine rode his heart out .Plenty more to come from him.Well done to Scunthorpe reserves very impressed.
-
Hoping for a big improvement in our away form.Weve took a big gamble with 4 riders not knowing a lot of tracks and its showed in first 2 away meetings. Hopefully the riders can adjust a bit quicker at Scunthorpe so we can give it a good go.
