The call off of the meeting was to do with it raining all day nothing to do with reduce capacity. There’s no way the meeting could have gone ahead even if it was full capacity. As I’m aware the weather across the whole of the country has been wetter than the average May climate so I’d expect more to be cancelled due to the rain. Anybody speculating why the meeting was called off obviously live nowhere near the track.

Correct decision was made as it didn’t stop raining all night and continued today. Hope for better weather on Monday

Yes but he’s named at number 4 which is better position to be covered by R/R than no 5 paired with a reserve so I’m expecting him to be missing. Hope I’m wrong because I don’t think anybody should underestimate this Peterborough team.

Good meeting for the first one on Euro sport. A few rusty performances and it was easy to spot the lads who have had some racing this year. Regardless of Ellis previous performances at Belle vue I would expect him to have got more than r/r with having ridden in Poland. If Bachelor gets his finger out I think we can have a good season. I find it a bit worrying when jack holder says him and Ellis may miss the occasional meeting. I suppose we are in the hands of the covid pandemic so hardly surprising

Thanks for that. Just wondered how they were dealing with the roll over of the season ticket as last year we paid for 15 meetings and got half price programmes and car parking but this year only 10 meetings ? I thought I read somewhere that one club had given part refund (was it Ipswich)? So don’t know if that’s what we are doing or rolling over the excess money into next years season ticket ?

I think it mentioned something but didn’t give details so I just expected it to be announced same time as the individual tickets today. Hopefully they will put it out at the weekend

Does anybody know how the season tickets are working at Sheffield? I expected the update today to include season ticket holders. All we’ve been told is use last years ticket and stand on 3rd and 4 th bends. Are we getting a part refund ? Are programmes included as well as car park ??

How many tickets are Ipswich selling for their meetings ? Is it 25% capacity ?

Are away fans allowed tickets for speedway meetings ? As Sheffield fans 4 of us want to attend the Ipswich v Sheffield meeting. We have all had the covid vaccination and will travel together not wearing masks in the confined space of a car for around a 4 hour journey. Then when at the stadium we are asked to wear a mask for a couple of hours social distancing in an open air stadium?? Then return home with another 4 hours in the car. I find this quite confusing. Are all premier league track following the same guidelines or is this just Ipswich rules?

Yes it is strange but as we know it's a numbers game in speedway. I feel sorry for Ash.I was talking to him last March and he was looking forward to riding for sheffield and got an engine specifically for Sheffield .We probably got sedgeman as he's been racing this winter and is expected to hit the ground running.It will be interesting to see how long it takes riders to get upto race speed after most have had a good 18 months off the bike.

Not sure he’d come over here to race. I read something recently saying he’d got some personal issues. Shame really if he had because he looks like the next big prospect from Denmark

Strange signing. Has he not rode since around 2014?? Hopefully he can get back to some form that he was capable of in the past.

I’d be happy with that. Are the rising stars staying at reserve all season or until their average is above a member of the top 5 ? What is the rule for this ? How does the guest system work for rising stars ? Presumably you would only be able to get a guest from the group your rising star is from Or could you have a good performing rising star from another group ? Or as this is speedway is it allowed to just pick and mix to suit ?!!!!!!

We are all expecting Josh to be a top reserve but how is it going to work? IF Josh was to win heats 2+8 and gets 2 third places =8 if he does this regular he attains 8 point average so does he move into possibly heat leader role or are the 1-4 rated riders stopping at reserve all season? When we did a similar thing with Drew Kemp we only benefited for a couple of meetings and I don’t think he got the chance to drop back to reserve where would have benefited later in the season.

We can't have speedway ,an outdoor sport ,yet the government deem it safe to hold a snooker tournament in a confined space !!!!!!! I can't work out how much safer it is to go to snooker rather than speedway ??.

With the back strait open at sheffield I think it makes it more doable as we won’t fill the stadium. I think most premier teams stadiums are doable to be fair but not sure about Wolverhampton! Can they use there back strait? Hopefully we can get some racing soon even if it’s only one home one away. Can’t believe how good the weather has been on Thursdays this year but soon as we start we know that’s not going to last !!!

Good line up for Todds meeting but I won't be surprised if it's off due the the corona virus.With all other sports cancelled till further notice I am expecting speedway to follow suit.

This is why nicki has been signed by sheffield,he's not had a race yet but there seems to be plenty of excitement building up already judging by all the posts on here .Personally I'm looking forward to it myself now,just hope the weather is better for the season than it is at the moment.Theres a buzz around British speedway again,the first for a long time,so hopefully we get a good summer and plenty of entertaining speedway.

Thoroughly enjoyed the evening with Nicki Pedersen comes across as a nice bloke off track. I think everybody there can’t wait for the season to start now. Told some good stories and said he can’t wait to get started. Well done Nicki and thanks for giving your time up to come across from Denmark to meet the fans.

Speedway fixtures are never set in stone so I would expect there to be a few Monday’s for us for tv purposes
