How? A rider has to be signed-out as injured by the Medical Officer.

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions

A good age, although still sad news. Alongside John Earrey (the greatest), Edwin Overland was a top speedway announcer and always splendidly biased against the Witches when we visited Compost Corner. RIP. -
Oxford v Ipswich 4th July
Roger Jacobs replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
That wasn't the query, and that Reg is about stopping a race. The Regulations are different for tape touching, unsatisfactory starts (whatever they're called). The Regs can be downloaded from scbgb.co.uk -

In the Regulations, there's no such thing as first bend bunching or all 4 back ... -
I had quite an e-mail exchange with the BSPL Office about this. The reply I received was: "You have quoted the rule yourself and it does not mention 'assessed', it says 'have an established MA' and Robert Lambert DOES have an established average, from 2019, he just hasn't done enough meetings to update that for this season. Without appearing to be too long winded, that rule is with regards riders who have never had an established MA, hence it does not mention 'assessed'. I believe other riders in a similar position have guested this season, but nobody has queried that? I don't want to drone on but what if a rider is riding on his converted CL MA and has that * by his name, have they ever not been able to guest? Next season that box will be changed as it is obviously misleading when it suits!" This was my reply: "Having taken some time to digest your reply on 22 September, I have looked more closely at the SCB Regs and they prove how poorly written and open to interpretation they are: You said: That being said, I wondered why Lambert’s scores from 2019 haven’t been carried forward as part of a Rolling Average to contribute towards an updated Green Sheet, which seems the most logical approach. I then realised the Regs say only scores from the last two seasons can count towards an Established MA. If that’s the case, why is an average with scores from as long ago as 2019 considered to be an Established MA? There is nothing in the Regulations which states that an average from more than two seasons ago can be used - I guess the argument is that there’s nothing in the Regs which state that old MAs can’t be used? Of course, the Regs also say: "A Premiership Assessed League rider will establish an MA after completing 3 home and 3 away qualifying fixtures." Robert Lambert is shown in the current Green Sheets as having an Assessed MA (there is no disputing that, whatever spin is put on the * next to his name and the Key at the top right), and has not completed 3 home and 3 away qualifying fixtures, so he has not got an Established MA. Please note: as far as I’m concerned, this has nothing to do with the specific rider and/or teams involved - as stated above, it highlights that the SCB Regulations are poorly written and open to interpretation, and also how the BPSL/SCB do not make their decisions transparent to the fans. The Regulations must not be tweaked, because when one area is updated, it can often cause problems elsewhere - as seen in 2022 when Belle Vue were able to use (ironically) Robert Lambert. I think it has been said many times in the past that the Regs are being reviewed - wording regarding averages and guests, in particular, must be rewritten, proofread, wargamed and checked again to iron out all this uncertainty." Hey Ho!

For your information: you didn't say all of that did you ... how was anyone reading your message expected to know your situation? It wasn't a sarky post, it was genuine - there are still fans who don't know about Live Updates. Even so - when you'd got your phone charged, you still came here for the result?

Oxford v Ipswich 4th July

You've got it the wrong way round. There's no such thing as All 4 Back - when the ref stops a race, they shall disqualify a rider ... "012.1.12 Primary Cause of Stoppage The only person with the power to stop a heat is the Referee. When a heat is stopped, the Referee shall disqualify the rider, who in their opinion is the primary cause of the stoppage." -
You had a look at this thread to find the score?! Have you never heard of Live Updates? Organised and run by the fans, for the fans, it's only been going for 20 years ...

King's Lynn v Oxford 17/06/24
Roger Jacobs replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think they tried to protect Kvech's debut by pairing him with Klindt. From what we could see on TV, putting Basso with Kvech would be as bad as Basso with Wojdylo. Now that Kvech has shown what they were hoping for, he could ride at #2, and pair Iversen with Basso at #3 & #4. -
BSN might not cover the restaging - they can only confirm that they'll cover another league meeting at Oxford.

Not a lot of genuine racing, with the grippy inside line providing the quickest option - as proven by random heat winners and last places. Gate 4 was the veritable graveyard, with Nicholls (Heat 3), Howarth (8), C.Holder (10), Woffinden (13), and Ellis (14) the only riders to defeat an opponent - Ellis the only one to beat both opposition riders. Sayfutdinov and Jenkins were ahead of Gilkes when Woffinden fell in Heat 4, and then Gilkes rode four solid laps to defeat Sayfutdinov in the rerun. 12+2 points in total for Gate 4, and no heat wins. 34+2 for Gate 1, including 9 heat wins. Some good riding to manoeuvre for position on the first lap, and good defensive riding - although anyone behind had to work really hard to stay on the rider ahead and mount any sort of challenge. Pickering's round the outside effort for most of Heat 14 was entertaining - I've seen videos of him doing that at Armadale with much more success. Sayfutdinov forcing his way under Howarth off bend 2, lap 3 was the only pass beyond the first lap that I recorded - although I'm one of many who thought Harris had caught Woffinden asleep on the run to the line in Heat 6. It was Sayfutdinov who took Woffinden wide on bend 4 of the final heat, with Woffinden then slowing down, shaking his left hand - so they must have clonked handlebars. Very interesting to hear Woffinden say the track was "absolutely mint" - from an entertainment point of view it was not. A good and satisfying win for the patched-up and recovering Witches. -

It was not funny when Woffinden fell off ... very few falls are. He picked up some grip and did well to dump his bike into the last bit of air fence on the 4th bend. British Speedway has been crying out for some personalities and, dare I say it, "baddies", but now Woffinden is fulfilling that sort of role, people start moaning! Before the meeting, Woffinden was the only rider I saw who stopped and talked to fans, posing for numerous photos/selfies, before going into the pits.- 85 replies

It appears that the #8, now known officially as the "Additional Rider" cannot be used as a reserve. "011.4.3 AdditionalRider(AR) An AR can only be utilised if a team is operating RR. An AR is not a 3rd reserve. " Corrected my error from earlier, which quoted the NDL version of the Reg! However: "011.4.4 Rider Replacement (RR) Facility allows the absent rider’s programmed rides to be shared out between other team members (including any Guest riders), subject to: <snip> f) A rider nominated as an AR may, at the Team Managers discretion, take any ride at any time in heats 1-14, (apart from the protected riders position in heats 2 and 8 in the Premiership League). Whilst the minimum ride rule does not apply, the maximum number of rides is 7. The AR is not permitted to cover starting offences." All of that wording is very confusing! (the bit in bold is as printed in the Regs) -

It's punishment enough for any team that a Rising Star has to move into the top 5 if their average means it's possible - they should stay at reserve all season, as do the youngsters in Poland. Anyway, Ipswich have got an RS, it's Dan Thompson - he is still in the declared 1-7 and is named in the team to face Birmingham, but with R/R to cover his unfortunate absence. The other problem with the Regulations is that they "only" allow R/R or another RS for a rider who is clearly riding well - better than any current RS, and - using your yardstick - better than an ExtraLiga rider. -

Visa problems - they thought they could bring him in on an "Invitational Visa" ... but, for undisclosed reasons, it's not possible.
