Stars v Panthers Thurs 21/04/2022
Roger Jacobs replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Let's hope there aren't any draws, then the stupidest regulation since the Tactical Joker will not have an unnecessary impact. -
As well as Baldyman's point about the 25%, what does "changes to the team on 2 occasions" mean: 2 single rider swaps or 2 changes involving any number of riders?
-
They won't send out an ambulance "just in case" when they are struggling to deal with actual emergency calls. That's the Catch 22 between speedway needing the cover and an emergency service operating beyond its capacity.

Oxford using R/R for Heeps at home to Poole tonight (Weds, 20 April) ... anyone know the reason? https://britishspeedway.co.uk/championship/preview-oxford-v-poole-champ/ -

Any viable suggestions as to who a different rider could be? I've seen Craig Cook suggested, but that was unlikely, and was definitely not going to happen once Sheffield came calling. It doesn't look like there's anyone queuing up for a similar spot at Belle Vue ... -

vs Scunthorpe - so he only had to beat Douglas. If they don't ride the track correctly, that's their own fault. Huge experience in the team and the promotion to suss out and advice on track conditions and set-ups ... no excuses. -

Told them about that last season - very distracting. -
Oxford v Scunthorpe 13.04.22
Roger Jacobs replied to Hilly's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Not sure of the total tickets available, but the promotion has said it's limited because not all of the stadium renovations are complete - so the available capacity *should* increase in the future, once work is done and approval given. -
Wolves v Sheffield LC 4th April 2022
Roger Jacobs replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
They have continued with the stupid rule that the top average rider has to be at #1, which rather stifles team managers. In the Prem this season, they can only chose who rides at 2, 3, 4 & 5. -
28.03. Aces v Tigers - Northern League Cup
Roger Jacobs replied to Col's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Official Green Sheets are on the Speedway GB website - there's a new menu item for 2022 Declarations: https://britishspeedway.co.uk/2022-premiership-declarations/ The averages you've quoted don't include the 2.5% discount for the Brits. -

How would Zagar fit average-wise? -
Fair dos - and he's certainly not the first rider to be splendidly frustrating and inconsistent.

Belle Vue sign Jake Allen on short-term contract, while they search for another rider. Although the Witches are under the limit, I have wondered for a while if there was anyone in the 6.50-7.00 bracket available? No-one has come up with an answer ...

It's only a handful of people on a forum. At Foxhall last season, I stood on the back straight for the home defeat by KL, and was surprised by the number of people who seem to adore Heeps - he was in very poor form, making mistakes and losing places, but they were cheering and saying how 'unlucky' he was. I reckon there are as many Heeps fans as there are for King. The majority of Witches fans are simply happy to have nice blokes riding for their team.
-
Technically you are correct, but currently not all teams are complete. Plymouth and Mildenhall have each got a gap after a rider withdrew. Edited: And I forgot Armadale - although the locals are expecting William Lawson to be the final rider.
-
1: Doyle, 6: Starke, 7: Rowe (because 1 & 7 are mandatory, so 6 picks itself). On the Press Day photos, Batchelor is wearing 3, so we can assume King will be 5. Heeps at 2 and Riss at 4?

Ipswich Press Day ... Had to search "Witches" on the Ipswich Star website - the Sport menu only has ITFC ... https://www.ipswichstar.co.uk/sport/ipswich-witches-press-day-8771614 Videos and Stephen Waller photos on Twitter: https://twitter.com/ipswichspeedway

2022 Regulations - New Super Heat after Draw!!
Roger Jacobs replied to Roger Jacobs's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I make it that the Witches are 2.1 points under the limit. Even so, they could have replaced Heeps with a 7.00 point rider. -
Also, don't forget that Bewley could have chosen to ride in Poland and GB, but decided to reject the Premiership ...
-
It seems that PZM wanted BSPL to accept being third tier, which would have meant absolutely no priority over other leagues - that is clearly not acceptable, so was rightly rejected.

The only reply I've had is from Neil Vatcher at the SCB office, who says the Super Heat is to make it exciting ... -
2022 Regulations - New Super Heat after Draw!!
Roger Jacobs replied to Roger Jacobs's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Shows how confusing it is! Basically, they are potentially punishing away teams (home teams have nothing to lose) just because they think drawn matches aren't exciting ...
